There seems to be a need for it!

Post here what you are doing, if your day is boring.

I, and some others, will still find it interesting.

Hollysteers, how does one open a packet of biscuits ?

lixy Sat 19-Apr-25 10:09:58

Today is the day for planting the agapanthus so I’m hoping for a bit of rain later. I’m considering buying one of those umbrella hats for these showery days - just for use in the back garden.

Don’t you hate it when you open a packet if biscuits and they are so fresh they just crumble away?

Yes, and also the chocolate that melts before your eyes!

(especially the sort that then reappears disguised as my hips)

I wish it would rain properly here. Had light rain overnight. I shall need to water the garden if nature doesn't. smile

definitely a boring day today. Back was very bad so nothing planned completed apart from buying the local paper!! So have struggled to get some washing out and dried, but did get that done in the end. Read my paper, creaked around doing a very little housework and sat on my tall stool to manage to do the washing up. Thats about it folks, but I was at least able to really enjoy listening to The St Matthews Passion by J S Bach, which was wonderful . Really lovely to be on my own, so not a rattle nor a cough to disturb the music, and I sang one of the solo and several of the choral sections, having sung it many times in the past. Most cheering part of the day.

Well must continue my exciting day by making something to eat. Life is full of choices isnt it!!

Eggs ready to colour.

Enormous mess, but they enjoy.

I've had the most wonderfully boring lazy day housesitting for DD. I took the dog for a short walk n fed the guinipigs some chopped carrot which they loved. I was taken to see a Daniel Craig movie and saw him in a totally different role to James Bond!

Hellogirl phone AgeUK and ask them to help with filling in your form, my friend was turned down when she did it herself. But she mentioned it to the lady behind the counter whilst browsing round their charity shop. Someone came to her house and did it for her and she was accepted.

Rinsed the tea leaves out of the infuser to be ready for infusing the coffee, however I decided to have two easy peelers first.

I never leave appliances on if I am not close by.

I could not sleep, so I decided to do something useful. I filled and ran the dishwasher and started the washing machine, and both were finished by the time I had a rest and a cup of coffee.

It was lovely to come downstairs this morning with the work done. The washing is drying outside.

It is too cold to sit outside and watch the weeds grow.

Be careful of sheets that are not tucked in.
That way lies a trip hazard and possible fractures.

I speak from experience.

Oh dear.

Never thought of that.

I’m going to DD’s for Easter. She’s only a ten minute drive away so why am I shoving so much stuff in the car?

Wine contribution, gluten free hot cross buns, Easter Eggs, rhubarb from the allotment, Peggy’s stuff etc.
Mustn’t forget the spotty bag with all MY stuff. 😂

TheWeirdoAgain1 Fri 18-Apr-25 09:45:43

Nothing particularly interesting today, which is OK as I like the odd boring day!

Just going to the local shops for a few dull things like fruit and veg then spending the rest of the day reading and kipping!

Sorted the cat's toy basket.
Explained that I was giving some unloved ones to the poor pussies who didn't have toys of their own.

Shades of my mother here and my toys as a child.
😡

Cats refuse to understand charity😾

I remember watching TV with my mam one evening many years ago and the set suddenly burst into flames. Woken up by all the panicking my dad, who worked shifts, walked calmly into the room, threw a bucket of water over it and went back to bed. Not to be recommended, by the way. smile

merlotgran Thu 17-Apr-25 16:23:24

Got up, did a wash, hung it out, went to the allotment, came home, had lunch, fell asleep, got washing in, about to feed the dog, I’ll have an omelette for supper with the first asparagus of the season. 👏👏

Someone I knew, years ago was watching TV, when the telephone rang. This was in the days of one landline, in the hall. As she was chatting, my friend thought how beautiful the setting sun looked, reflected on the hall wall opposite the phone. Suddenly she realised it wasn't the sun she was seeing.
The television was on fire!!!
Luckily for her, she lived next door to a fireman and even luckier, he was off duty and dealt with the fire before too much damage was done.
