Good morning all from a wet Black country, front lawn will have to wait for its cut. Yesterday the back lawn was mown and encroaching weeds from neighbours removed they are not gardeners, they usually pay someone once a year to clear it.
Lovely photo of the Malta meet up glad you had nice day BlueSapphire .
Good to see Marydoll posting hope your feeling a little better today.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed ☀️.

(52 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its just getting daylight here in brackley but its dry .
Today is a day of housework plus .
Watch cycling on TV later .
Health OK
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cold start again. I have taken my cuppa back to bed.
I ache all over- probably from my
covid jag yesterday. I think I'll skip
exercise class.
Yesterday's plans didn't work out so I
ate my fancy meal on my own but then a friend, who I wasn't expecting,
dropped by for a good catch up. I had
been gardening and she
commended me on my hard work!
We sat in my sunny greenhouse out of the cold wind.
The photo from Malta is so good to
see BlueSapphire. A perfect
birthday present! ❤️
Sorry you sound tired today Rosiesmaw. I was looking forward to hearing about Amsterdam.
I hope Marydoll gets some relief this week and that a good day is had by all.
Good morning from a dull and rainy Black Country. Typical Bank Holiday Monday weather.
It was a glorious sunny day yesterday with barely a cloud in the sky. Brought Mum over for lunch, and we sat on the patio for a while. She demolished all of the lamb meal, and despite saying she was too full for dessert had ice-cream with a thin slice of Lemon tart.
No plans today, my usual Monday activities are not on due to being Bank Holiday, so no walking group and Line Dancing.
Such a great photo from Malta, how wonderful that GN puts in touch total strangers in different parts of the world.
Love to Marydoll and all who are feeling unwell or down.
Good morning from a grey W Kent very happy day yesterday with the family. DS and DD2 helped me get a roast lunch dished up and also helped DH move a few bits around the house and garage. Easter chocolate was exchanged.
Pleased to hear from Marydoll but sorry to hear the reason you were absent.
What a great meet up in Malta, a lot of fun I imagine.
Best wishes to all
Good morning all fromva grey North Leicestershire.
There is a theory that we will go to a large out of town shopping centre as DH needs a new coat. I say theory as we are still in bed, drinking tea.
Lovely photo of the 3 grans - can we know which is which?
Have the best day possible everyone.
Morning all from a wet West Oxfordshire.
Good to read your post MaryD, but sad that you’re still under the weather.
I’m not sure of our plans today. OH would like to see his bees, but rain causes them to stay in their hive. If he opens them up they get annoyed!
I may do the Waitrose shop. We are quite low on a few essentials. I will probably make two or three shepherd’s pies with the left over leg of lamb and freeze them.
Have a good day.
Just to say that if anyone is looking for a good film to watch on tv. ITV3 last night, Downton Abbey new era. It was wonderful, happy, funny and nostalgic. Loose ends were tied up and it was a bit sad towards the end but it really was the ending of an era of Downton. I loved it
It should be on catch up
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s wet out but not raining at present. Chilly too and will only reach 13°C. I’m not going anywhere but Himself promised the grandchildren he’d take them to a Pizza Hut over on the retail park. None of them have ever been to one and they all fancy trying it. This evening we’re popping into our neighbours for drinks. Always a pleasure.
Now to read all your posts while I enjoy my mug of TIB.
Good morning Mick and all GN's on a grey still morning in North Yorkshire. It has obviously been raining - good for the gardens - and expect more to come shortly.
For some unknown reason got up thinking it was tuesday and "hurried slowly" to get myself showered and dressed thinking I had to go out, and then only realized it was monday as the "wrong" music came onto radio 3!! Well, had to readjust brain to the fact and if the weather had been good I would have probably made the most of it and got a picnic together and gone off somewhere. However the weather is not good and so I dont think I shall be doing any great treks today after all. There is plenty of things like ironing want doing, but I am not in the mood to do anything much. Actually I think I get much more done when I have something planned as it gives me a goal to get stuff done by. So nothing planned for sure, except listening to radio 3 of course and probably watching more of the snooker at some point.
It was good to see the pictures of the gransnetters get together. As you say good to put a face to a name. Just had a thought, the news had something on about the police breaking up an illegal rave get together. Made me smile at the thought of us all planning a mass gn get together (there might be more coffees and teas or g and t's than illegal drugs at our do!) Well I expect some of us would have quite a few drugs with us but all legit . Talking of drugs, the news was also about people buying weight reducing drugs on the internet. The thought of injecting myself with who knows what ,never mind my dislike of needles , would definitely keep me away from such foolishness; but it is a worry to think of the harm people could be doing to themselves, not to mention the NHS having to pick up the pieces afterwards. No doubt we can all look back at some silly things we did as teenagers but perhaps not so dangerous as the possibilities of today.
Hope Rosie got off ok on her flight and was on time.
I wish everyone a good day and safe journeys to those travelling
Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is only 6°C,
Thank you for your kind words yesterday, it means a lot to me. I just want my life back, but it doesn't seem to be happening!
How glamorous you ladies all look, sitting in the sun! I have Malta envy, a favourite place of ours.
GM according to my young sacristan friend, our large church was packed to the rafters at both morning Masses. He was run off his feet and I feel so guilty for leaving him to deal with everything.
We have no idea where all these new parishioners are coming from. Both car parks and the surrounding roads were full of cars,
DD and SIl visited with flowers and a huge Easter egg yesterday, she knows how much I love an Easter egg!
No sign of Babydoll, she was having an Easter egg hunt with her cousins, from DIL's side of the family.
Going by the state of her chocolate covered face, she looked as if she was having a ball.
Today will be another day of taking it easy and doing little. I cannot cope with enforced rest and incarceration!
I wish you all a pleasant Monday and best wishes to all who are struggling.
Good morning all from cloudy Lancashire. The weather forecast is for a cool showery day.
Yesterday MrB took me for a trundle round in my wheelchair. The sunshine was beautiful but the wind was very cold. Not too bad in sheltered spots and it was good to get out all the same. I was tired by bedtime and fell asleep easily.
Today will be a much quieter day at home.
Wishing you all a Happy Easter Monday 🌹
Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s mild and damp out at the moment, with sunny spells and showers forecast.
Another day of pottering yesterday, vacuumed the whole house and did some tidying. I must sort out some paperwork this week.
DD1 and her family are squashing me into their car and taking me to see my godmother this morning. I haven’t seen her for a few months and don’t have the confidence to drive myself to visit her. She will be 100 in June and is looking forward to her party. She is still very independent. DD2 and family are off to Legoland today I hope it’s not too wet for them.
karma I have lots of hollyhocks in my garden, all self seeded and in lots of different colours and often growing where I don’t want them.
Lovely to see the photo of the grans meeting in Malta.
I hope that marydoll is a little better today. Pleased that grandmabatty had such a happy family lunch yesterday.
Have the best day possible everyone and special thoughts to those who are suffering in any way.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with light grey clouds
A gorgeous photo of you all BlueSapphire so pleased you enjoyed the meet up on your birthday in such a lovely place
I’ll need to get going soon as I’ve a volunteering session first thing and then I’ll go into town later. We’re away from Wednesday so I need to finally decide what to take and start packing soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from s somerset, dull, rain and cool
A lovely sunny day yesterday, I cycled to the allotment and spent three hours there, also chatting with my new allotment neighbour. I put some more bee-friendly perennials in the ground, on the edge, they are also a source of rich green manure so that I don`t need to use animal manure again. Studies have been done to show that it is much better than cow manure. They are well-behaved plants and mean that I have a good sustainable supply source on my plot, also much easier to handle when I get old. It was heavy going to fill a few barrows of animal manure last december and then wheel it, never again
Off out today, a car drive and a visit. I did my tyres yesterday. Not bad driving weather as there is no sun
Have a good day
Good morning from Malta where yesterday’s glorious sunshine seems to have disappeared leaving a cloudy sky with a windy day forecast along with showers and a high of 19°C.
Such a special day yesterday meeting up with the two delightful cruising grans Blue Sapphire and Glammagran, learning about their interesting lives and lovely families. A very happy get together.
I returned home feeling on top of the world but was soon brought down to earth when Alcaraz lost in the final at Barcelona. Very disappointing.
No plans today other than some general tidying up. I’ve just noticed four pairs of shoes which ought to be in the cupboard. Tut-tut, not like me to be so messy,.😄
Pleased to hear from Marydoll but very sorry to hear her health issues are so worrisome. Sending a gentle hug.🤗
Wishing a good day to you all.☀️
Good morning all from Camberwell where it is grey and cool. Waiting for our Uber to take us to London City.
I slept appallingly - clearly I must have done, but I felt as if I was lying awake for hours.
I just don’t do this sort of thing often enough!
Wishing you all a pleasant day!
Good morning, it’s a dull, grey start here in south Glos.
Yesterday the weather was glorious, we had a lovely walk with the dogs and DS, DDIL and the DGSs then DS and DDIL decided to extend it and walk home so I drove the boys Bach here.
We enjoyed our roast dinner, lots of chatting and laughs, a really good day.
DS and DH put the blinds up in my summerhouse, they look very smart so that’s completely finished now! I will enjoy taking my needlework or art stuff down there with me.
Today they’re going home at some point, the boys are back to school tomorrow. We will have a walk somewhere this morning although I suspect it’s going to be in rain rather than sunshine.
I hope today goes well for you 🌹
Good morning from Shropshire where rain is forecast for most of the day.
We had a lovely day yesterday.DD1 and SIL excelled themselves.A beautiful roast lamb dinner followed by home made mini egg cheese cake, lemon cake or chocolate cake.DD2 and family were there too so our whole little family together which doesn’t happen very often now all the children are at school.SIL’s family there too.
I am lying very still so as not to wake DGS1 or their little dog.Would love a cuppa but first up walks the dog and it is raining😂
Lovely picture of the meet-up.
Grandmabatty so pleased you had such a lovely day yesterday.
My thoughts with Marydoll and all struggling.
Have the best day you can everyone🌻🦩
Good morning from a dull looking Torbay. We had a gloriously sunny start to Easter Sunday but it was raining by the end of the day.
Lovely to see a photo of the three grans in Malta! And I’m glad your special birthday was celebrated in style on board, too, BlueSapphire.
Good to hear from Marydoll, too.
Thank you for the supportive comments regarding my trip to the town centre on Saturday.
Our church service was well attended with many visitors joining us. The order of service was spread over three different sheets which presented a challenge to my two pew buddies and me who attend regularly so I can’t imagine how others coped since no guidance was forthcoming from the priest leading the service. I found it frustrating and intend to say as much at the next PCC meeting. (grumpy gran!)
Tonight a play opens at our theatre: “Butterflies Are Free”, for which DH is a Front of House steward but I opted out as I wasn’t sure if I’d be fit enough to cope with the standing involved. However, I have booked a seat to watch. As long as we regularly volunteer in some capacity, our membership entitles us to free tickets.
I hope everyone enjoys today. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Good morning from Leamington where I believe it is going to rain. Shame as there is a street market in town that we had intended to visit.
Yesterday was a very lazy day, watching films and, the girls, eating chocolate.
I'm going home tomorrow so must make the most of hugs and cuddles whilst I can.
Lovely picture from Malta.
Enjoy Bank Holiday Monday everyone, my best wishes xx
Good morning from N. Bucks now we are home from the Isle of Man. Haven’t looked outside yet.
Our friends will be leaving sometime this morning and then we are joining DD3 and family for lunch.
Bed changing , laundry and a lasagne to make, ready for Sister in Laws stay.
Hope all holidaymakers are having a good time. Healing thought for those who are ill or troubled.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.
Good morning all. A bright start with blue skies in Glasgow although we may have some rain later
Yesterday turned out to be a gloriously warm sunny day a perfect day for the Easter egg hunt and we spent most of the time sitting outdoors. Non stop blethering as I caught up with the girl’s social life.
A quiet day today not sure whether to stay at home or go out somewhere.
If the weather holds, I may just enjoy faffing about outdoors.
Oh no! Change of plan, it’s now raining !
Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend all.
Good morning everyone from Easter Monday on board the good ship Spirit of Discovery.
What a lovely day we had yesterday! Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes; the ship treated me very well, a decorated cabin with fizz and chocolates, and a cake at dinner in the evening. Brought all my cards with me so they are now adorning the cabin too!
The best thing though was the meet-up with Glamma and Bella! We found each other easily, found somewhere to si and spent hours chatting over wine and prosecco. Life histories were exchanged, tales told and photographs shared. How good it was to put faces to names we'd only chatted to on line! It was as though we'd known each other years.
Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dry and dark north Wales where the chamberpot is full ☕️ of strong Yorkshire Gold 😉
What a lovely Easter…quiet day on Saturday spent reading in the conservatory followed by a lovely afternoon in the garden yesterday when neighbours popped in for 🍷 before dinner - they went home for roast duck while we enjoyed lamb and Eton Mess for pudding 😋
Belated birthday greetings to Blue Sapphire in Malta - hope you enjoyed the meet up with Bellasnana before you depart to your next port of call.
Good to see Miss Marydoll posting - your novellas always raise a 😊 (intentionally or otherwise) May you soon be back up to speed x
Another quiet day pottering at PG Towers, outside if weather permits and conservatory with a 📖 and lashings of tea if not, with the polishing off of crumpets and hot x buns a tiresome task for the day…🤗
Good morning from Bristol. We are told it will rain all morning then clear in the afternoon.
Yesterday’s outdoor Easter service was interesting. Curiously, it was packed, requiring loads more chairs to be fetched from the hall.
As the alter was facing east, we were either with the sun in our eyes or sitting in the cold, windy shade. I chose the latter. Boy, was I cold, although I had made sure to pile on the woolies…. I didn’t stay on for coffee, too many people, and I was frozen.
I watched the Gareth Malone “Messiah” programme; brilliant.
Today, DD and SiL are taking me out to see some bluebells - we had a couple of glorious bluebell woods in walking distance near us. One rejoiced in the name of “Hanging Wood”!
Glad to see MD posting albeit briefly.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
