Gorgeous azalea FGT.
Good morning from a sunny midlands.
Knit and natter group this afternoon.
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside sand dunes northwest coast.
Nice day in the city yesterday with pianist friend. I had changed handbags and had to PAY for my train fare as I had left my train pass in the other bag! We had lunch in an Italian restaurant new to us and then to a favourite book store, not that I need more books.
My friend’s macular degeneration has sadly affected him, eyes are so important. He brought me some Easter goodies and a hand painted card.
Today to the music club. I’m on the desk I think, but haven’t practised over the holiday so don’t know what to sing. Something easy that’s for sure.
Thoughts to Gingster and hope you all have a good day🌺
I eventually managed to get to Silverburn, only to find San and Go was down, shelves were empty and evacuated, due to fire alarm!!
Good morning from a sunny Co Armagh,, but I don’t think the rain is far away , my rainwater butt is overflowing , it overflowing on the Cornus bed so doesn’t do any harm , I’ll draw some off today just to be sure
I overslept yesterday and today , daughter is champing at the bit , we are supposed to be going out , but I’m still stiff and slow , I’ll thaw later with any luck ,
Have a best day possible xx
Gingster so sorry to hear about your DH hope he quickly improves
I have a similar t-shirt problem here EkwaNimitee and for much the same reason 😊. I’m being ruthless and have sent a lot to the charity shop or the recycling centre, depending on condition.
Good to see you posting Marydoll.
Kidney infections are horribly painful Gingster, hopefully the hospital will soon sort out your DH and he will soon be home again. ♥️
Good morning from Cambridgeshire. I was awake early but rushing around as I need to be at DD2s house to take in a delivery and do a few jobs for her.
Gingster do hope all goes well today for your DH and you get some rest.
Have a good day everyone. Sun is shining here at mo!!
Morning from sunny South Lanarkshire, no doubt it won’t last.
School pickup etc today so just getting organised for heading into Glasgow, I think the temperature looks quite hopeful there for this afternoon.
What a horrible day for you and your DH Gingster, I hope he gets sorted and home soon.
Your DGC sound a very kind and organised lot karma, so nice for you.
Your azalea is beautiful FGT what a lovely sight in the morning! Mine are still tightly budded, I hope they’re not going to decide to refuse to bloom fully this year as they occasionally do, last year they were gorgeous.
Lovely to think of Harry the hedgehog Pantglass, I hope he stays with you.
Good wishes to everyone for a decent day.
Good morning from Shropshire where a sunny day is forecast.
Gingster I am so sorry to hear your DH is back in hospital.I hope today sees improvement for him and that you manage some rest.
We have had a lovely couple of days with family.Everyone left mid afternoon yesterday so we spent a couple of hours sorting the house!Everything ship shape but lots of bedding and towels to wash today.I was in bed by 8 last night and have only just woken up so apart from loading the washing machine and hanging the laundry out a relaxing day is planned.
Safe travels GG and I hope you can get a drs appointment asap Sar.
Have the best day you can everyone🌻🦩
Good morning Mick and all GN's on a bright still dry but cold morning in North Yorkshire.
Another struggle getting up this morning, but have to push myself to get ready. I have an appointment at 10am, and hate being late for people. The great techie Artie will be hopefully helping me with a problem I have with the laptop and also I had only just found out that with a blue badge I can have a disabled rail card, but it will be quicker to do it on line and I want to do it with him there, partly have to add a photo I think and may have to take other pictures in certain sizes so will be glad to do it there and have his guiding hand and hopefully learn how to do photos on here too.
Then this afternoon another exciting appointment (I dont think!) as I have an appointment with the diabetic nurse. For a variety of reasons have had to put this off , eye operation etc, so it is time to see her. No doubt I shall be told off for whatever I have eaten over easter etc. But I know I have got quite lax lately checking up on things so it will do me good to be reminded and get myself back on the straight and narrow.
Yesterday after a rather miserable down start to the day, the two young people came and after a lot of effort - which showed me that there would have been absolutely no way I could have done it myself - the stump is out, but I got them to leave the hole unfilled. There is still a bit of the root that goes right under the path so no chance of getting it out, so later I am going to look for something to paint on to kill the root. Not something I have around, but think it would be wise before I plant anything else there. Then I plan to sieve through the soil , getting rid of any stones before I fill the hole back in.
So if the weather stays dry later today, if not too shattered , I can get my border fork out - this is smaller and lighter than the usual one - and continue the good start by digging up a few more dandelions, and any other weeds I can see. I have already deadheaded the daffodils and will let them die down a bit more. They have got quite large clumps so then plan to split them and move them to other parts of the borders. The muscari are starting to die down now and I do love them but will deadhead quite a lot of them as they do go mad and take up too much room. So finally the rose that is still stuck in a pot may get planted at last. Ah the removal of that stump has got me into gardening mode, but how much I can do myself is another matter. Anyway something positive to be able to go outside and see something started.
It will be good to get out and see a few people and have a chat, may even go mad and have a coffee out , as a reward for all this sorting out. Had intended to put some washing in before I went today, but another grand idea gone west! If I bend down to put stuff in the washer I might not get up! How I miss my lovely top loader washing machine I used to have. This is a front loader , which is fine in itself , and it is fitted in the kitchen so couldnt really change it even ignoring the cost, but the top loader was much easier to use and the added benefit that you could open it and add the annoyingly forgotten item .
Mick hope you have a good trip and meet up with some friends
grandMattie hope you had a good sleep in your new bed and no doubt were ready for it. I also got some cheap vegetables, which prompted me into making some casserole, but annoyingly I only have a small freezer here, so cant do the amount I used to do. Piccalli is one of the few chutney style things I dont like but think it will be good to do a curry with some of them.
GrannyGravy hope you are having a good flight and will have a great holiday
Sar56 Hope you have a good trip home and that you g et to see a doctor about your infection soon .
Ginster what a horrible day for your husband and for you. Hope that you both have quieter and better day today and get a rest.
Well time to find documents and bits and pieces and am taking this laptop in so that it is on mine rather than using their laptops so need to get myself sorted. Hope everyone has a decent day and can have something to enjoy.
Good morning all from a sunny day on the Angus coast. Not sure how long it will last, but it's a cheery start for a change.
I will read all the posts later as I'm late, I'm late
for a very important date getting ready for tai chi, but I did notice on my way through that gingster's DH was back in hospital, poor soul. And poor you too gingster going through that trauma of not being able to summon help. Now that your DH is getting the help he needs, I hope you can get some rest and a good sleep.
Nothing to talk about from here, except a fellow tai chi instructor called round yesterday and we remembered one of our members who died very suddenly at the weekend. I was particularly shocked by her passing as she was only two weeks older than me, which had been a standing joke between us.
Anyway, I must make haste. Enjoy today everyone and I hope the sun is shining wherever you are 🌞
Good morning .
The sun is out here in N. Bucks at the moment.
Sister in Law will arrive around lunchtime to stay for a few days. DDs 1 &2 will join us for dinner. First time they have been able to see her since my Brother died.
Must make the lasagne that I didn’t get done yesterday and put some flowers in her room.
Hope you all have a good day especially those with illness , their own or loved ones.
Gingster, I hope your DH is more comfortable today, what a day you had. Best wishes xx
Baubles, I suggested a trip to those garden centres, especially Silverbirch,, but DH has refused.
I once drove the road beside the river in the dark in the middle of winter after visiting my brother and it was pretty scary. DH feels the same, so no chance.😪
Morning Mick, morning All. A sunny start for our corner of Somerset.
Enjoyed a chat with our granddaughter and her mum yesterday morning before heading to a very busy garden centre where we just had to sit with a cuppa and a very large, delicious scone. Some clothes sorting later while Mr C read and that was our day.
Hair trim, grocery delivery and domestic goddess stuff today. Nothing exciting, especially as I’m not one to enjoy hairdresser forays.
A difficult day gingster, hope your husband is home again soon. Pleased you’re making your holiday grannyg. A safe trip to all travelling.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is only 3°C.
Gingster, I am sorry to hear about your poorly DH. I hope he is now more comfortable.
Sar, are you sure you don't have shingles? Our previous PP looked as if he had an eye infection, which seemed to be spreading down his face. I persuaded him to go round A&E. It turned out to be shingles and he was very unwell. Please don't waste time.
GG, enjoy your trip and could you please have a mooch around El Corte Inglěs 💕 for me. 😉
A very quiet day yesterday, I did little, which is so unlike me.
I have a notion for M&S potato farles, ( I still have no appetite and it is so painful to eat.) so if I can get going, I may try and pop out.
I will probably come home and fall asleep!
We have so much to do in the garden, but poor DH is being left with it all. I am permanently exhausted.
Heaven knows how he is going to move the bark, compost and chukkies he has ordered!!
On a more positive note, the five patio fruit trees for my planned orchard have arrived and are in good condition. On a less positive note, I will probably be dead, before they bear fruit! 😉
I wish you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans. I'm now going back to read the posts
in bed , I have already skimmed them.
DH has brought me a cuppa, some painkillers and a hot water bottle for my joints.
He has his moments! 💕
Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle. I'm hoping for a better day than yesterday when it was cold and rainy all day until the late afternoon.
I stayed in, laundry and vacuuming in the morning, reading and admin in the afternoon. Today will be much the same. Should be on the boring day thread?!
I'm wondering why I have so many T-shirts, I'm tempted to bag a load of them up during the summer and off them to the charity shop. The trouble is that they are generally good to be worn around the house but I feel the need of new ones when i go away, so they go on piling up!
Your poor DH Gingster, I hopes he's soon sorted and home again.
Do have a good day everyone.
Good morning Mick and everyone from a very damp looking Cheshire. It's cold!
Must try to get a call to a Dr this morning and that alone is a challenge! I have been struggling with tinnitus whilst in Spain and feeling very sick. Fortunately my DD has come to stay with me. She will take charge!
In the meantime I will try to occupy my mind with a crossword, a word game and reading what GNetters are getting up to today.
Have a good day.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It looks sunny out and I don’t think rain is forecast.
I must buy a birthday present for my great nephew’s fourth birthday. It mustn’t be too heavy though or it will cost a fortune to post to Australia. I also have three new charms to put on a charm bracelet. I was given it for my 21st birthday and it is nearly full! Hopefully the local jeweller is open today.
OH would like to drive over to a bluebell wood about 15 minutes away. It should be at its peak now.
He visited his bees yesterday and is worried about one of the hives. He thinks the Queen is dead and a new one isn’t being created. Beekeeping seems rather more complex than I thought.
Have a good day.
Morning, high cloud with some blue in S Hants. Gingster thank goodness you got some help, so worrying.
Safe flight GG13 hope those bugs have totally bypassed you.
We were quiet yesterday morning, then my daughter called in and planted 100 snowdrop bulbs for me, a late birthday present. After which we watched MrJ’s football team who later, with help from Burnley, were promoted.
Quiz in the evening, only three of us and we weren’t very good.
I need a new tyre on my car today, some domesticity required and root veg (Tesco 8p offer) to cook and freeze.
🦩🦩
Good morning from a sunny Suffolk after a dull day yesterday. I have been saying for some time now that I should sort out my clothes in the wardrobe in one of the spare bedrooms. I decided yesterday was the day.
It contained jackets and skirts that I had worn for work, most many years ago. Sadly a couple of the skirts had moth holesbin them( they obviously prefer wool) but the other items were fine so I’ll drop them into the local hospice charity shop on my way to the GP for my annual blood test.
One benefit of my clear out yesterday was the discovery of 2 long forgotten summer jackets. Both still fit.
Gingster I hope your DH recovers from his ordeal yesterday and you can use the time whilst he is in hospital to rest yourself.
Thinking of others with worries or ill health.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Looks like a nice sunny day.
What a day you had Gingster and your poor DH. I hope he is better and home soon
I was completely zonked yesterday so spent the entire day in bed and mostly slept. I think it must have been a bad reaction to Sunday's covid booster.
I feel a lot better today but still tired. I have the chiropractor this morning and a church committee meeting in Edinburgh this afternoon.
If I saw a hedgehog in my garden I might become a domestic goddess too pantglas 🤣😂 . How exciting!
Have a lovely holiday in Spain. GG
I am not jealous at all.
Hoping everyone has some joy today.
