Good Morning Friday 25th April 2025

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and dry. Brook that sounds like a perfect way to spend your last day in London. Baubles the knitted flowers are lovely. Redcar I'm putting off doing the cupboard under the sink! I should take a leaf out of your book.
Yesterday I did a bit of gardening and watered the pots. Then ironing. I didn't have a lot but it was nice to get it done and put away. In the afternoon I worked with the primary seven class and introduced them to the library. It was enjoyable. I didn't do much at night and went to bed early to read.
Today I'm meeting a friend for coffee. She's having a hard time with both parents so I shall sympathise. This afternoon might be more gardening while it stays dry. Have a good day all

Good morning Mick and everyone from currently sunny Carlisle. Not sure it's due to last though.
Yesterday I was in town where it seemed unusually quiet. I had various little purchases to make, between whiles treating myself to coffee...the barista being happy that all was quiet for once! I got rid of a bag full of books in the charity shop but my bookshelves look no lighter.
Today I have lots of little jobs I really must work through. My runner beans have minds of their own, I put supports in for them yesterday which they promptly grabbed but not necessarily their intended one. We are having a battle of wills.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where its not only a glorious sunny morning (here’s the view from my bed waiting for my cuppa - the azalea 😁) ◀️ but I’m so relaxed and happy as yesterday’s Christie appointment was so hugely reassuring! The tumour is still ‘sleeping’ after 10 months of no treatment! Plus the oncologist said the mets in the lymph nodes have even reduced a bit further! Hearing this was beyond our expectations as you can imagine.

Then the oncologist said “just carry on as you are doing. Don’t poke the bear! We will see you in 3 months for your next scan”.
Wow! How good is this? 😁

Himself is going to book flights today to our happy place! It’s his 73 birthday the week after next and it would be lovely to be over there for it seeing our neighbours, LWW (for me) and Spanish friends in the gardens, just relaxing - reading and dipping into the pool. It’s gorgeous weather there now (👋 GG13) and seems set now for the summer months.

We’ve moved ‘date night’ to tonight after yesterday. Sitting with a wine in or outside a bar first at 5pm in the sun then a curry. Life Really is Good. It’s precious and often we take even small pleasures for granted. ‘Carpe Diem’ indeed grandMatty!

Good morning all. Another welcome sunny day in Glasgow, still chilly but dry.

A bit of a bothersome morning as I received a message last night telling me, emails not sending. Hopefully something that can be rectified by a phone call. My road tax is due and after two failed attempts to renew it online as usual, not this time so another phone call to make.

Pleased you enjoyed the NT gardens baubles…..Hollywood Walk, you won’t make it.😂. The flowers are beautiful, so life like, I initially thought it was a young flowing cherry tree.

Hopefully good news for Gingster and her DH today.

Good morning from the Essex coast. A cloudy dull day is forecast.
We collected our new car yesterday and I drove home so all good.
My eye infection isn't clearing up very quickly, hopefully soon, as it waters constantly and makes it hard to see anything.
S was back in hospital yesterday but allowed home during the evening. She starts her Biologics next Tuesday and we are all hoping that they make a difference. Her GCSE's start next week too, fingers crossed 🤞 she is well enough for school.
A pile of ironing awaits this morning together with washing and club admin.

Good morning from a somewhat hazy Suffolk where it will be hot I think when it clears.

After a couple of busy days socialising with friends today will be a home based one spent with DH and our little dog. Such days are to be treasured especially when the sun shines and we can enjoy the garden especially the ever increasing patches of cowslips,the last spring flowers to emerge I think.

Hope today is such a peaceful one for all.

The Openreach engineer arrived to connect us yesterday but was unable to complete the job. We are still on the BT broadband, Openreach need to lay an additional cable and will notify us of a new date,

Despite a gloomy forecast the weather was beautiful all day, MrB took me for a trundle across the bridge and along the footpath down to the lock gates. We were both ready for a nap when we got back, It was wonderful to be out in the fresh air, I went to bed feeling tired but happy last night and slept like a baby.

Yesterday's bus trip to Hawick was good. The driver smiled when I told him what a great trip it was. Not in winter apparently!

An excellent exhibition which my friends had organised at the textile museum. It's on all Summer so I'll definitely be taking visitors there.

My dear old car has been fixed and has passed its MOT so I will have it back today for more trips to the recycle centre. my exciting life 😂🤣

Good morning Mick and all. Your fish 'n chips idea sounds very inviting!
It's a grey day on the Angus coast, but it looks brighter out to sea - I hope the brightness is travelling in this direction!
Yesterday was a definite waste of time because after little sleep the night before I was dreadfully tired. I didn't do the sets at tai chi but stirred myself to do the teaching section of the class. I then went home, via the shops, prepared a meal and then slept. I was still nodding off in the evening so in the end went off to bed at 9.30 which is very early for me, and slept a solid 9 hours. Today will have to be a busy one to make up for that!
What amazing flowers baubles! They do look completely real.
I'm so glad to hear that FGT and Himself have wonderful news to share. My Grandson has also been told that the chemo seems to have had the desired effect on his hairy cell Leukaemia and that he can go back to work when he's ready. Such a relief!
Now off I go to try to decide what layers of clothes to put on - it's decidedly chilly at the moment. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all and it’s bright here in Essex.

Dh is home! He was passed as fit to leave the hospital, albeit with catheter still in. I’m not very confident that we’ve ‘done’ it right but hopefully district nurse will come this morning.
We have to return In 7 days to have it removed. 🤞.

It’s a set back for us as we were just getting into a good routine after the stroke. We’ll soldier on!

Dd will come after school to sit with her dad while I shop. The cupboard is bare.

Youngest DGD (9) has a school trip to the Globe Theatre in London, so excitement is high. They experience Shakespeare times, plays and dress up in costumes, and then picnic along the river. A lovely day.

I haven’t read FGT ‘s post but it appears to be great news for her and himself.🌟. So pleased for you 🙏.

Great news FGT.!!!

Baubles, I never realised that was an NT property. I passed it many times on my way to meetings, but never took much notice.

Brook your day ahead sounds interesting. I am envious.

Yesterday was delightful, but exhausting.Papa took BabyD to the riverside, where they could see some ships being built. She was more interested in the ducks and spent her time having a quacking conversation with them.

I enjoyed mys hort window of retail therapy, but unfortunately was unable to visit TK Maxx, due to a toddler in reins having a meltdown outside the store. She was having none of it.🤣
I did secure a bargain, a tweed jacket, reduced from £34 to £5!
It is not exactly Chanel, but I'm not proud!.

Babydoll was squeaing with delight, when she realised we were walking towards McDobald, a rare treat. I was too, for someone else was cooking!

The afternoon was spent in the garden, collecting stones (such an exciting task 😄), playing on the swing getting soaked to the skin playing playing with the water fountain,
As I was going to the garage to get an ice lolly, shadowed by my stalker, Dollie arrived with her mum, to visit her grandparents next door.
BabyD insisted on taking Dollie round the back to see papa, who was so emotional, when his two girls appeared, hand in hand. 💕

Her cup was overflowing, when a reasonably new neighbour came up to talk to us, with her two preschool daughters. More friends for her. Oh joy!

Her day was complete when both mummy and daddy came to collect her. DD, who is working on a museum refurbishment, decided to get the train to us, with DS, instead of going straight home.
They plonked themselves down and were not in a hurry to leave, DH and I were on our knees and longed for some peace!!!

I crawled into bed, after partaking a small prosecco. I may not be able to eat much, but I need to keep my fluid levels up! 😉

A quick trip to Sainsbury's and not much else planned. Yesterday has taken its toll. DD has offered to pick up fish for me and will pop in later.
She never leaves empty handed. I suspect she is after the spare roll of matting to prevent weeds growing!!

Hoping today is a better day for Gingster and her DH.

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Spent time in the garden yesterday, weeding and then in my egg chair, reading Alison Weir on the Tudor court.
In the evening I watched ‘Maria’ about Maria Callas and the sad end to her life.

No art today, it starts again next week, so I might draw or paint something myself. My cat has woken me up at regular intervals through the night. I’m not a good sleeper at the best of times, so will make it up as feel fit for nothing.

Good morning from a sunny Black Country.

A sunny walk yesterday along canal to Kinver, coffee stop, then walk back through fields. There must have been at least 20 of us.

Over to Mum this morning to take her food shopping, then we will pop over to DD's as she is still on holiday from school until Monday.

The weather forecast looks good for next week, so we have decided to go to Lyme Regis in the caravan. Bristol tomorrow to see MrJ's girls, then down to Burnham Sunday for the night, before the off to Lyme Monday morning.

Good morning from Aberdeen where it’s grey but calm. Yesterday was full sunshine and we had a lovely drive up the coast after our visit to Peterhead Prison. It was really interesting, well worth a visit but so sad. There was a selection of letters on display under the heading ‘Dear Dad’. They were actual letters, obviously with the names blanked out, all from children to their fathers, mostly teenagers I think, trying to make contact and pleading for a reply. I could imagine why they hadn’t had much (although some had) but it was utterly heartbreaking.
It was a relief to end the trip sitting eating 99s and contemplating the beautiful white breakers crashing onto the shore further up the coast..

So happy to read FGT’s news.

Oh MD I remember slipping a wee dress over my daughter’s head to see if it suited , she was just three , she took off like a rocket with the price tag fluttering behind ! Someone barred her path to the door and we wrestled her to the ground !
Yes I paid for the dress , made her give me the twopence piece for it , she told everyone she was wearing her money every time she had it on !
