Have lunch, and watch cycling from a part of Switzerland which I have been to the Romandie area.

Ashcombe what beautiful flowers.
Wow Ashcombe worth the wait!
Beautiful NannyJan we have spent many a happy hour there.
Thanks both
Good morning from a sunny midlands.
Knit and natter group this afternoon.
Hugs to all suffering.
Thank you for the kind wishes for our break. We are both feeling quite excited at the thought of this little time away. I’m so pleased to have given DD the option of joining me for the first two nights.
Jax the scene you describe outside your local pub sounds idyllic, especially sharing time with horses. I am so envious. 🤢
Good morning from sunny Berkshire.
Lovely day yesterday, flying daughter off to Munich and my Dsister came over from London. We spent time in Windsor, coffee shopping etc. then across the bridge to Eton.
DD flew back and joined us for a meal in the evening. I had a sudden very severe attack of cramp during the meal and jumped out of my seat in agony. My thigh in a terrible spasm. DD walked me up and down until it wore off. It carried on through the night so I’m feeling a bit delicate.
DD off now for her regular run on the Long Walk and we’ll go out after that,
Certainly blessed with the weather on this trip.
Time to take further advice Mick?Thoughts to our travellers and all.
Managed to get wheelie case down very steep hill to centre of pueblo, no taxis.
Got a bus to train station, only to discover that this line wasn’t working yet. Had to wait for a taxi (there are normally lots) the cars were queuing to get to departures for 15 minutes.
Finally through all checks, waiting for our plane - phew 🙋♀️
Morning from sunny S Hants.
Enjoy your break Kalu
I thought of you yesterday GG13, safe journey home
My best wishes to S Sar and fingers crossed, so hard.
Yesterday the voluntary phone was busy and there were not enough drivers available for clients lifts, I don’t like disappointing people.
Today is tidy up admin from that, bedding is in the machine, 8 have a delivery later, leftover roast chicken for dinner.
As we left quiz last night we saw this tractor plucking up a late night pizza! There were horse riders, plus horses earlier in the pub, I like being semi rural

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a bright sunny morning in North Yorkshire.
The tree is now full of leaves and the squirrel looks as though he is making an inspection as he is dashing up and along the branches right now. Cheering to see things looking good. Have the windows open while it is cool now as it says it will be very hot later so back to my ways from living abroad. Windows open with curtains closed and a bowl of water on the windowsills as it warms up, and if it really gets hot shut windows to keep cool air in. Find old hot water bottle and fill it with cold water and ice cubes. Great foot cooler! When I worked in an office and it was this hot, I used to do that and no one could see my feet under the desk , so just slipped feet out of shoes and onto lovely chilled bottle.
Yesterday turned out to be a bit of a disaster , as I had the usual physical hassle but then it was compounded by an upset stomach and dizziness. The dizziness got so bad I had to go and lie down and it was very frustrating, as it didnt improve so nothing got done.
Today a much better start to the morning, so I am grateful for that. While it is warm, I change the routine, and it is go out in the garden while it is cool and jobs inside can wait. So went out with the secateurs and done a little in my patch but then went for a bit of a walk round the communal part and have deadheaded the daffodils. The hopeless so called "gardeners" who come only race around on machines cutting the grass and they dont even do the edges but anything else is ignored. If you dont deadhead the daffodils, literally only taking off the flower heads , the plants waste energy trying to make seed rather than putting the efforts into the bulbs for a good show next year. So it is quite a big area and the daffodils are in various clumps, and some under the silver birches. Have done about half this morning, and shall do the rest tomorrow morning. A little job, but positive and it looks better too without the deadheads.
I am taking my chair outside and going to try and tackle the weeds in the border while it is dry and should be easier to do. Then late tonight or early tomorrow morning I shall give the borders a good soaking with the hose, which should help in the heat. Can see my iris coming up well, and have to find my sieve, as where the old buddleia was dug up all the soil is still in a bucket to return to the hole. It has stones etc in it so taking the opportunity to sieve those out and add whatever good stuff I can. So that is the priority for today. But will have to take it at my speed (slow slow quick quick slow!) Anyway good to feel more positive at least.
Only plan for tonight is to go to the games night. One of the gamers has invented a new game - seriously good at all the ones we have played - so I will be the total beginner, for once it should be useful for him to gauge how I am able to follow the rules and understand it. Then he can make adjustments on that level, and the experts will also be playing so he will see how they cope with it. I looked up some information about some of the games, trying to decide what would be the simplest game that I might get for myself. Gave up as the comments were so varied and decided to ask people tonight for their recommendations for a starter game.
The power cut in Spain and Portugal caused a lot of problems for people and they dont seem to know what caused it. The only good thing about it is it will focus their attention on the problem and hopefully work on ways to stop it happening again. I think many travellers were caught out if they were totally depending on their cards and phones. I tend to be rather on the negative side and think what if, so I choose to have paper tickets and visas and so forth. The thought of arriving somewhere and having problems with the phone does not appeal. I trust myself to have the paperwork with me more.
Mick Hope you enjoy watching your cycling, and have a good trip into Bicester
grandMattie How frustrating for you. with EE. Hope you find some whizzkid who knows how to sort it soon.
grandmabatty You have my sympathies. Your brother really does seem to go out of his way to be a pain. At best he is being selfish and not thinking how things are for you , at worst he is doing it deliberately. Cannot see what he gets out of causing further upset . If anything happened to the house while it is not insured he would be the loser too so it seems very strange. If he cannot do things properly , he would be better letting you do it all. Then at least , even if you have all the work to do you could arrange things in a much better manner. Hope things settle down soon for you
GrannyGravy Fingers crossed for a good flight home and no delays.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day
Good morning from sunny N Norfolk
Hoping to get out and about and enjoy the good weather. I did all the driving yesterday
Good wishes
Good morning. Looking forward to another sunny warm day here in N. Bucks.
I have a nail appointment at 11.00 and then MIL is coming for lunch. Jacket potatoes and salad with lemon drizzle cake to follow. DH will then take her for her Covid jab while I finish off the craft club prep and make a Birtday card for SIL
After school time we are taking DGSs
2 & 3 to their swimming lessons.
Healing vibes to all who are poorly and a good day wished for everyone.
Marydoll he's a very difficult person. Dd, who works in insurance told him at the very beginning of April, that he absolutely had to do it. The lawyer advised yesterday but he's completely intransigent. I'll have to do it myself.
Good morning from a glorious sunny day on the Essex coast.
I'm doing a lot of coughing this morning and not sure why, hay fever !!, I've never suffered before.
S starts her Biologics today at Birmingham Children's hospital, fingers crossed they help with her severe asthma. Her first GCSE is on Friday.
Ironing and admin today and a walk by the sea later.
Enjoy the sunny day everyone xx
Good morning from a gloriously sunny Suffolk where the rooks continue to be very busy(and noisy) . I think the peak of their nest repairing and building must be over and the activity now is to do with collecting food for their young which have yet to be seen.
I’m off for a pedicure in about an hour and then meeting a friend for coffee. I have my annual check at the surgery this afternoon after blood tests last week.
I intended to clear the ironing pile yesterday but had to stop after 1 item as there was brown water escaping from the iron. I think I need to descale the iron which I never do although we regularly do the washing machine and kettle. Another job probably for another day.
Hope today is a good one for all.
Good morning all from another sunny day in the Black country.
Hairdressers this morning and will see where the day takes me after that.
Hope all appointments go well and the poorlies are feeling a little better.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.
Good Morning from Durham. The weather is improving, but as a cold fish - I’m not casting my clouts just yet. Looking forward to my own holiday and some heat to my bones.
Shed roof man arrived unannounced yesterday and job done by 10.30am. Another tick on my list.
Coffee, extending into lunch with a friend today, then my chiropody appointment and I’ll ask about my poorly foot. It is responding to rest.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all from Glasgow, its 6°C, but the sun has just broken through.
I have woken with the most dreadful headache and hayfever, a negative aspect of the better weather.
GMB, what a dreadful worry for you, can your aunt and uncle try to talk some sense into him? I suppose that is a stupid suggestion.
Kalu, I did think of TopsyIrene, when you said you had an xray appointment! Lovely to hear that you enjoyed your catch up.
Enjoy your break with your DD.
I must get a move on. DH has ordered enough stones, compost and bark to do us and the whole street!
He is becoming rather agitated and impatient about me moving my car out of the drive, before the delivery lorry arrives.
I cannot wait for the redesigning of the garden to be finished. I now have seven mini fruit trees in situ in my mini orchard. The blossom on my original mini trees is stunning at the moment. Today I will need to look for a tub for the honeyberryplant, I got for £2, but I have no idea what a honeyberry is!;🤣 It will be placed beside my other fruit bushes, However, I am pushed for space.
I have also noticed some strawberries growing!
Yesterday, I ordered 36 perennial plugs for £7.99, reduced from £72,99. I am trying to emulate a garden I once saw in Pitlochry, it was glorious, with a myriad of colours on display.
The only problem will be to actually get down to plant them
and I may never get back up again. DH recently found me crawling along the lawn, trying to find somewhere to pull myself up! 🤣
I always thought my biologics weren't helping much, but now without them, I am struggling to walk, with all over, stiff and painful joints. joints.
I am envious of your cycle ride Grannyivy, I used to love cycling and when I took pupils on residential trips, I would cycle around the Holy Loch
on a junior bike, because I was vertically challenged.😉
I was so slow the bus driver on the local bus, used to wave to me, each time he passed!
Have a lovely day and safe journey home GG.
A special mention for all in the sick bay. Life can be so challenging, as we age. 💐
Plumber should be here some time this morning - third time lucky with this appointment so fingers crossed. Only a leaking mixer tap but needs sorting. Wonderful Cleaner also due so a busy morning. Will make the most of the weather and get the washing in the machine as the free drying is too good to miss.
Morning all from what looks like another beautiful day. I hope we can all enjoy the sunshine.
I had my long term conditions review yesterday - online. It seems I am classed as obese! I was the same weight last year (an in-person check) and they said not to worry. I probably do need to cut down on the amount I eat and take more exercise.
I am seeing friends this afternoon while OH checks his bees. We will probably attend another car boot sale in a couple of weeks and sell another batch of honey.
Have a good day.
Good morning everyone from a warm but cloudy Inverness, hoping the sun shows up later
Sorry to hear about the problems with your friends care corner I hope it can be resolved soon
I’ve a busy day ahead with lots to get done but I’m still hoping to get to the gym for a couple of classes. It de-stresses me and I enjoy the exercise and company. When I get home I’ll have to tackle the to do list
Sounds like a lovely trip planned with your DD Kalu enjoy every minute!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a dry NE, forecast is good for most of the week.
Yesterday was a pleasant day but wasn't well so never left the house.
This morning my financial advisor is visiting, he drives here from Leeds. SIL says he will come too as a second pair of eyes and ears could be useful.
Have a good day.
