Any ideas? I’ve tried hotter, Clark’s, moshula and none are altogether suitable. I am six and a half, wide fitting and definitely want leather!

I can second a shout out for Reiker. I always buy my winter boots and sandals from them and they are so comfortable. Reasonably priced too. You do have to take a good look though as some of their styles are really old fashioned.

I just got a pair of Karrimor Salina Sandal and have today walked into town and back again in them and no rubbing and very comfy. I got them half price too so think I may get them in another colour.

Mine are also Salina but they are not an truly wide fit. If your foot isn't puffy at all they will be fine - but some, who maybe get swollen feet, would find the cross-over above the toes a bit snug.

The vionic actually have a "wide" fitting. Not all styles though.

Birkenstocks are good in the summer with adequate arch support.

I would not walk anywhere in any sandals other than Teva. I have had several pairs over decades. Extremely comfortable and fully adjustable velcro straps. Very hard wearing too!

Thanks. I love the josef seibel ones. Sandals, for me, also need to be practical for driving. I’m tempted by the Josef ones.

You won’t go wrong with the Josef Siebel onesSally I had one pair for nine years. Hadtothrow them away when the soles got thin.

I like Moshulu sandals.

Have you tried Reiker? I have become a convert over the past couple of years for boots, shoes and sandals. Ecco is also a go to brand and may be a slightly bit wider.

Another vote for Luna

I have just bought these from Hotter. They are called Catskill and cone in a variety of colours in nubuck and wide fittings (extra wide EEE in tan and blue)
£89 and feel very comfortable

They look as if they have good arch supports.

Any price in mind?! I can 100% recommend Wolky Jewel sandals. They are podiatrist recommended and the only sandals I could wear, with mortons neuromas in both feet (and nicer than Hotter :-). They also happen to be exactly the right height, if you have to wear a moonboot on the other foot!

They are, however, very expensive. And they are leather. They used to be £100 for a long time and have now gone up to £159!!!! I know because I just sent for some. They have a very nice range of colours too, so be careful or you might want more than one pair. They are amazing for comfort and have a special sole and insert.

They have a new model as well if you prefer that, that has exactly the same sole and insert but doesn't have the strap round the back - so more stylish perhaps? Called Aporia. Also comes in a wide range of colours.

I have them in light blue, red and black. I'm an exact 6.5 in Clarks and the size 40 in these is a perfect fit. (Which is supposed to be a 6.5).

These can be made wider due to the adjustable front piece.

gentleshores Wed 30-Apr-25 21:57:19

I've also had Rieker and Josef Siebel ones before and found them comfortable, but not enough for neuromas under my feet. It needed podiatrist approved ones for that level of comfort. So only Hotter or Wolky were up to that.

Josef Siebel I could never get the right fit. Rieker are nice - also some models are better than others (not all are leather).

I’ve also got those Hotter Catskill sandals and they are really comfortable and I’ve walked all round RHS Wisley in them, up and down hill.

Just got a pair of FitFlop “fisherman’s” sandals leather

I am size 9 E width - they are like wearing trainers ! So comfortable and springy

Fairlandia Wed 30-Apr-25 22:07:24

Try Gabor Lanzarote. They have a supportive footbed and are secure in the foot. I have 7 pairs of these- some very old, some new & some from Vinted. They are suitable for wide feet as I have a lovely bunion on one foot and they never rub.

georgiejg Wed 30-Apr-25 22:39:40

Ecco for me, not cheap but last well. Just got a couple of pairs of Grition, new from vinted, only worn once but seem OK.

I always get Rieker sandals as I am a size 8 with very wide feet. They do some with Velcro fastening across the toes which is good for wide feet and are very good for for walking distances.

That’s good to know woodenspoon as I have bought three pairs (!) as an alternative to my ubiquitous trainers smile

I like these, in particular the colours. I have several pairs. A word of warning, the soles can be quite thin, especially the plimsolls.
I like Rieker trainers, very comfortable. Wide enough.
