While out in town today I had a brief sit down along with various other shoppers of all ages and races. An elderly man dropped a coin under the bench and a young African man leapt into action, ,crawling under the seat to retrieve it for him, then smiled broadly at us all and wished everyone a happy day before heading off. It really lifted my spirits.

Harvesting my tomatoes this morning which I grew from the seeds of M&S cherry tomatoes.Honestly didn’t have much hope for them, in pots but due to the heat have been great.

It's cloudy this morning and such a relief after yesterday's heat.
I need to shop for a birthday present for a grandchild today,
something I enjoy doing.

The first glass of milk in the morning with breakfast!

I'm obsessed with plant-based milks like Alpro's nutty almond, etc.!

Hello Bellanonna. Sorry I've only just seen this. I hope you are well. Re the shingles jab. The nurse told me that if you had the original jab you only need one but with the latest vaccine you need two.

Checked my Robins nest after the heavy rain we’ve had and was delighted to find that the eggs had hatched and there was at least one baby in the nest. All work on the garden has been cancelled till they’ve safely fledged.

Kate1949

Had my second shingles jab and had a lovely chat about holidays with the nurse.

Hello Kate!
I didn’t know we could hava second one. What is the interval needed between them?

That buying Rice Cooker was a purchase I should have made sooner!

Making another two hand- made summer tops from stash and then sorting my sewing room. A lovely project on a dull day

Feeling well enough to plant a few veggies in raised beds. Have 15 mins on new exercise bike, then do some much needed housework

Just off to the farm for milk

A good day

I’m a recent widow, Daughter is on holiday. Arranged a lovely lunch for me with a good friend of hers. Much appreciated and much enjoyed.

Got round to defrosting my small freezer - transferred all to my garage freezer. I’ll have to leave a large bath towel underneath the small freezer to soak up all the melting ice . By morning all the ice will be gone - hurrah 😃

A lovely lunch today celebrating a friend's 80th birthday which is later this week. The rain showers didn't matter at all.

Family have just left after a bbq, even though there were spots of rain and we had blankets out because it was chilly, it was great to catch up.

Just doing nothing much. DH and I have had a hectic few days. Although it is raining, it’s just nice to be home and have a restful day together.

A great trip out yesterday with DD3 SiL & his parents to a reclamation yard & the Exeter trading Hub followed by a BBQ.
I returned home with a decorated Indian water carrier & a vase.🙌
(Today’s a different story - dropped my phone & smashed the protective cover on cobbles, had a tissue incident in a dark wash which subsequently got soaked in a sudden shower & dropped a packet of sugar on the floor 🤦‍♀️)

Walking the dog before the rain started and getting back just as it started made my day today.

My new sandals brought me great pleasure today
They are very comfy and look lovely on.

Sat down and got on with knitting the turquoise cardigan for charity. As I'm knitting I'm thinking of the next thing I'll make. Made a great sandwich for lunch, brie and avocado. Contemplating going to potter in the garden now.

I booked a secure dog field and went there with my daughter. My dog is reactive (she goes for every dog she doesn’t know) and every walk is stressful. Today she ran free and chased balls and explored for a care free hour. Wonderful for both of us.

I’ve got a bit of a problem….Too many six foot sunflowers! Nice problem to have though.

Greyduster Mon 26-May-25 14:15:01

One of them is a youngster, not in his full plumage yet, but he knows what he’s about.

The goldfinches are back in my garden, feasting on the spent cornflower heads. What glorious little birds they are. Summer is truly upon us!

I spent much of yesterday declutterring and sorting then got a message from my daughter asking for a lift home from the bus.
This turned into tea and cake and then her husband came home plus granddaughter and her boyfriend and he opened his birthday presents. All the better as it was unplanned, though I did have enough time to quickly wash my hair and change first. Lovely family moments.

Catching sight of a wonderfully camouflaged mother duck with a duckling. She was so still.
