Actually I think we’re 7 hours behind UK time here looking at the time on the post - oh well !
A very late Good Morning from from Mexico City where its 6 hours behind UK time so almost 7am here
Hoping everyone is enjoying the gorgeous weather at home 😎
We arrived safely after a very long 11 hour flight from Heathrow, it was ok but I was so pleased to get off. My brother met us at the airport and dropped us off at our hotel. We’re staying just around the corner from his apartment so it’s very handy. I sort of slept in fits and starts throughout the night! We’re meeting up for breakfast soon and then see what the day holds
Hope today has gone ok Gingster 🥰
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good Morning from a cooler overcast Co Armagh,
Walked up to Mass , but Father didn’t turn up , he has been on retreat and must have stayed on for another day
My friend and l walked back to the cafe for coffee ,we don’t need to give our order , they know us too well
Got a few groceries and a sneaky apple tart in the local spar ! I’ll make some Birds Custard at lunch time !
The next three tomato plants need moving into the grobag and maybe the cucumbers , at least it’s not roasting warm in the greenhouse, just better for working , no sign of the peas and beans in the veg bed !
Hoping for a pleasant day for all x
Good morning from sunny Berkshire. I leave for the north soon after a lovely few days with DD.
Yesterday after coffee with one of DDs flying friends and looking round her newly decorated house, we had a trip to the Savill Garden and the blossoms were magnificent, including the rhododendrons in the Punch Bowl. It entailed a lot of walking which was good for me.
In the evening we had a meal at a nearby pretty pub and a very tender delicious beef stew.
Thoughts to all as always.
Good morning from a very overcast and quite foggy day here in Málaga where we have docked this morning. It's fairly warm though. Yesterday was similar weather at sea. This is the last stop on our cruise. We will disembark on Monday.
We are going to a flamenco, wine and tapas place this afternoon - can't remember where.
I've seen the weather forecast in England for today and how hot it may be at up to 29⁰c!
Ash your photos of the sea of tulips were phenomenal. It's a very special place. Best wishes to Mr Gingster.
Have a good day everyone.
Lots of little white clouds suggest that we have seen the last of the heatwave but it has been a joy and I have appreciated it. Supermarket shop later but nothing else planned though life has a habit of intervening.
Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.
Today I need to set up our new telephone handsets. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Have a lovely May Day 🌻
Good morning everyone. It’s sunny and warm here in mid Essex. I went for a walk yesterday morning and pottered around all day doing quite a lot of minor tasks.
I’m waiting for the skip lorry to bring the large skip and dump it on my front garden, ready for us to clear the garage. I’m having to sit in the dining room at the front of the house because the Ring doorbell battery has expired and the spare isn’t charged! In the meantime the washing machine is doing its stuff and I’ll be able to get the washing dry outside.
I hope gingster’s DH’s hospital appointment goes well.
Hopefully md’s phone consultations are helpful.
Have the best day possible everyone.
A very good morning to you all, just back from a lovely dog walk - they’re both sleeping how!
We left at 6.20 and it was so lovely wandering across fields and along bridleways for an hour or so.
Yesterday I had an echocardiogram, luckily it was an early appointment at the hospital so I didn’t wait for long. The technician said little other than the Cardiologist will be in touch 🤷🏼♀️.
I actually think heart-wise I have improved since I started high dose VitD, certainly I can now walk up to 5 miles; it was less than a mile 6 months ago. Let’s hope it continues, I’ve certainly exceeded the 1-3 years I was given nearly 6 years ago L
Today I have art group this afternoon, there’s local voting (postal for us) so not sure what the parking will be like at the village hall where we meet.
I hope you all have a good day 🌹
Good morning all, and happy May Day! It's a fresher day today on the Angus coast and it looks as if there's been a shower of rain during the night. So that's the end of the (very) mini heatwave for us here.
My back has recovered now. It sounds rather melodramatic to lie about doing absolutely nothing for two days, but it certainly does the trick.
So it's back to tai chi this morning followed by the weekly shop. Tomorrow I am being connected to fibre broadband, courtesy of DS2. He's coming to work from home from mine next week, and it will be so lovely to see him.
I haven't read all the posts yet, but my goodness that was an early start Mick! I hope the Morris Dancers give a particularly good display! Did you used to dance with them?
Have a good day in the sunshine everyone - or, if you're like me, in the shade looking out at it.
Good morning on our last day in sunny N Norfolk, we have been so lucky with the weather. A visit to Creake Abbey yesterday was a peaceful experience. Today is a gathering up and packing day
Greyduster I hope you feel better soon, along with others feeling one degree under.
Best wishes for hospital visits and phone calls
Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
We have decided to catch the train to Stratford on Avon today make the most of this lovely weather.
Haven't read through yet but will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Hope all appointments go well and there is some improvement with the poorlies.
Safe travels those on the move, have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans.☀️.
Good morning Mick and all GN's on a bright sunny morning in North Yorkshire
A pinch and a punch first day of the month to you all.! I am late getting myself together, had a horrible night complete with nightnmare, and struggling slowly to get myself together. Very slow and slightly dizzy again, dont know why. The man is supposed to be coming this morning to change the sink over, but havent heard from him, so dont know if and when he will arrive. Had planned to get bedding in to wash early but havent got it done yet, and my plan last night to go out early this morning to do a bit more in the border, has gone by the board!! Missed Bach before 7 and am at sixes and seven myself. So need to just methodically plod along and catch up with things. Must make best of weather as they promise showers later. Hope if we get them that that are of the downpour kind, and help the gardens, rather than just a little sprinkle. Have to ring council as my rubbish was not collected yesterday and in this weather it will be horrible and smelly if it is left for a fortnight. Apparently new bin men, not used to it yet. Not having a great start to May!!
Mick , hope you got to the morris dancing ok
Ginster Hope all goes well with the catheter removal
Marydoll, hope your phone call goes well with the dr and that the engineer comes soon to sort things out.
Sar53 dont know if you have a Seasalt near you but I had some good linen trousers from them and they have washed well.
Hoping plans work out for everyone and you can enjoy the day
Good May Day morning all from the Scottish Borders. A wee bit cloudy for the U3A seaside walk today.
I slept very badly. Opposite of Mick I was still awake at 4.30am. I'll be a wreck.
Never mind. My new Helper will arrive just as I get home too. Luckily I've made a bed up for her.
Good luck at the bingo pantglas 😉
Have a fab time in London gMattie
what does FAB café stand for?
All the best to Gingster today.
The year is going far too quickly. I can't keep up.
Good morning.
Hooray, another sunny day in N. Bucks.
I picked up a day to ld loaf for nothing yesterday so will use that to make bread pudding and I have various small jobs to do.
Sewing club this afternoon and so me water colour painting to enjoy this evening.
JHope today is a good one for you all.
Re this fabulous weather, I overheard someone yesterday say to a friend “it’s like having a free holiday!”.
😁
Good morning from sunny Suffolk where we’ll enjoy another very warm day.
As I opened my iPad and realised it was 1st May my mind took itself back to my primary school days when we used to take our dolls’s prams, the girls, and bikes, the boys to school decorated in brightly coloured crepe paper. We didn’t have a maypole as the playground was concrete but there was one in the vicarage garden next door as it was a CofE school.
I remember my distress one year when it rained whilst we were in school and my pram was in the playground and it rained and the crimson crepe paper ran and spoilt the pram cover my mother had beautifully made for me.
I’m off tomorrow with a dear friend for a coach trip for 4 days to the Black Country. We went last year with the same company to Eastbourne for 5 days and had such a great time. I hadn’t realised it was a bank holiday when we booked it but DH is as generous as ever re my social life. He will happily mooch around with the little dog at home and DS and family will pop in for a visit at some time over the weekend.
Hope all enjoy the sun especially those not feeling their best.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and cloudy. It felt warmer when I stood at the back door surveying my kingdom 😂. Gingster I hope all goes well at the urology clinic today. Susan fingers crossed for your medical appointments. Marydoll I expect rain is heading my way if the ground is wet in the west. I hope you can get the washing machine fixed, as well as all your other phonecalls.
Yesterday I enjoyed my day. I was busy in the house and garden in the morning. I washed jackets and my dressing gown and they were dry by early afternoon. I did some weeding and watered the pots too. After lunch I headed to the school library. There was an unexpected class in the library who had left their classroom because a pupil was having a meltdown. The class were delightful and really sweet. Once home, I lay on my bed in the sunshine and read for a bit.
Today I will have a quick trip to Aldi for bread and milk. Then back into the garden to potter before going to the school library again this afternoon. Cottage pie for dinner. Have a good day all.
Morning, going to be a warm one again, yesterday was potting on in the greenhouse early, it’ll be the same today and I’ll be watering the garden later this evening.
I have stretch class late morning, I’ll call into the butcher on the way back to pick up some bbq meat for my daughter.
Good luck today Gingster.
I hope brook is safely in Mexico and those enjoying holidays are having the best time
🦩🦩
Good morning from another hot day in Shropshire.
We had perfect weather for our day in Llandudno yesterday. We enjoyed the show and had a long walk along the prom and to the end of the pier.
Today I have a drs appointment at 9 and a clinic appointment at 12.
Really hope the Gingsters and Marydoll get good results from their appointments🙏🏻
Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩
Good morning from a beautiful day on the Essex coast, wall to wall sunshine is expected today.
Our computer has decided to play up, I can't get into anything on the the task bar, very frustrating.
DH is due back late afternoon so I shall go out looking for some linen trousers this morning.
I hope all goes well for you today Gingster .
Have a lovely day everyone, best wishes to all xx
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 8°C.
No sign of a heatwave here and the ground looked wet, when I looked out.
Pants, I misread your post and I was shocked to read that your hedgehog was having s*x. I really have lost the plot. What is GN coming to?
A very busy day ahead. Babydoll is here today, so it will be an exhausting day.
Yesterday, I phoned the RA hospital helpline to say I was really struggling. Last night to my surprise, I received a text, informing me that that I have a telephone consultation at 9am!!!!
I also have a telephone consultation with my elusive GP this afternoon, after weeks of trying to speak to him. Hopefully the hospital can help, I have no expectations of my GP.😪
As well as that, I have a BHF uplift and the washing machine has packed up. 😭 DH spent ages trying to drain it
and consequently flooded the utility room!
Did he use the old towels from the garage to mop up, of course he didn't. Brand new towels are there for that purpose! 😡
I left a voice mail for our usual engineer, I have known him since his father used to fix my mother's appliances. However, he sometimes takes a bit of prompting, because he is so busy. 🤞 he calls today.
On many occasions, he has popped in at the end of the day on his way home, to the next village. You never know, until the last minute.
Dozing after dinner last night, I thought I was hearing voices.
I could indeed, it was DIL and my beloved Dollie. Such as surprise, because she is always attending some club or other.
DIL had come to drop off my other DIL's gift, she is forty tomorrow.
Dollie and I had a lovely catch up in the garden, she sat on the swing, eating her favourite mint cornetto, bought in especially for her and regaling me with all the latest gossip from school
and her latest crush.
Hoping that Bluesapphire and the poorlies are improving.
Kalu, I hope you are having a lovely time with your daughter.
There is something else I meant to mention, but haven't a clue what it is.
Wishing everyone a lovely day.
We have no elections here in Trafford today.
Good luck at the urology clinic Gingster I hope all goes well for your husband. He will be shattered when you get home I expect.
karma if your allotment has an award for the best kept/most productive plot you’ll smash it I think! 🏆
I’d forgotten it was 1st May!
Anyone else think this year is just racing along?
Good morning from Malta where it is already warming up with a high of 27°C expected.
I was on my way to the boys’ sports day yesterday morning when DD3 called saying her DH had gone off with her car keys so I was near enough to go and pick them up.
Both boys very excited as, for some reason, they like going in my ‘blue car’. Littlest was waiting inside, he took it literally when his mum told him I was coming to ‘pick them up’ so I did just that and was rewarded with an ‘I luff you Nana’. Oh my heart. 🥲
It was very hot at sports day but the nursery has a lovely big garden and forest type area so there was plenty of shade. Lots of little ones cried when they saw so many spectators, but all were happy by the end of it and were rewarded with a medal and an ice cream.
It was a happy morning, there was coffee laid on and I got chatting to another grandmother who was absolutely lovely so I thoroughly enjoyed it, plus watching all the little ones.
Thank you for your kind comments on my nails. Shame about my gnarly old fingers.😄
Enjoy your trip to London grandMattie, and the Morris dancers Mick. I love them and was in my element years ago at Broadstairs Folk Week where there were Morris dancers as far as the eye could see!😃
Welcome back Ash, so glad you’ve had such a wonderful cruise and you’ve seen the beautiful gardens.
Hope all goes well for your DH at the hospital, Gingster and that he will feel better.
I’ve a long ‘to do’ list starting with cleaning the windows, then some ironing. Whatever else gets done will depend on whether or not there’s any tennis I want to watch.
It’s a Public Holiday here so I have a day off from childcare today.
Wishing you all a good day.☀️
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we have another hot sunny day ahead. It’s gorgeous out already and Alexa tells me it’s 12°C now rising to 26°C. All I have to do today is walk through the park to the doctor’s surgery mid morning for a routine blood pressure check and bloods. I’ll get a takeaway coffee from the square as I set off.
