Good morning from South Lanarkshire where the sun is shining again.

I’m making the most of the glorious weather and sat outside yesterday afternoon crocheting and listening to an audiobook. I reckon I’d earned it having spent more than an hour ironing in the morning. The downside of summer is that more of our clothes require a dash of the smoothing iron than the winter wardrobe.

The trout was delicious Pantglass!

I’ve sold a couple of things on Vinted so will pop out to drop them off at the shop as well as dropping another bag at the charity shop.

Thinking of you and your DH FGT.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and sunny still with blue skies. FGT 💐. Ashcombe it's good to hear that you continue to feel better.
Yesterday was busier than expected. I contacted the man about my tyre needing replaced. He asked for the tyre number. Well, I went out to the car for a look. There were lots of numbers and all different! I gave up, phoned him back and asked if I brought the car up, could he find the correct number. Duly done and he discovered I needed three tyres replaced, not one. It didn't surprise me as a) the car is nearly seven years old and has it's original tyres and b) I'm a shocking driver, regularly hitting kerbs- never other cars or people. He ordered the new tyres and said he would let me know later when they arrived.
After that, I did some admin for mum's estate then tidied up until it was time to go to the school library. A quick tidy there and some more labels on books that had been returned and off I went to the garage. Tyres are replaced at a very reasonable price.
Today I might go back to the garden centre with dd. She wants one more plant for her front garden. Otherwise, I have a very quiet day ahead. Have a good day all

Brook good luck with the house move! Fingers crossed it all goes well.

Good morning - I’ve been awake for a while. I’ve now had 4 good nights of sleep since we got back home from our cruise after 3 weeks of listening to constant snoring. hmm After such a rich diet of food over 3 weeks it’s been all vegetarian so far this week and lost some weight already.

We got a lot done in the garden yesterday but more work still needed. I’m quite achy today as a result.

Tomorrow we will catch up with our local family. I’ve really missed the grandkids as we haven’t seen them for 4 weeks.

Belated birthday greetings to Corner🎂. I’m very sorry to hear your DH is feeling unwell FGT. Very best wishes to you both. 💐

Have a good day everyone.

RosesandLilac Fri 09-May-25 07:33:58

Good morning, it’s clouding over here in south Glos after a bright start.
I slept very badly and feel like a piece of chewed string this morning 🙄
Yesterday I walked the dogs individually, then late afternoon we took them on a longer walk - my favourite one from the next village.
I gave the utility room a good clean and tidy, it certainly needed it! We have far too many bottles of wine, mostly given as presents, but I have no idea what to do with it beyond pouring it down the sink. We rarely drink, and if we do I often end up pouring it away.
I have given my apologies for art group this morning, tiddler and I will have a walk then I intend to do little except usual housework things, change the bed etc.
Take care everyone 🌹

DDs horse has survived the night, thanks to Dd, her intensive care and knowledge. Horse appears to be stable and is exhausted but can now stand. Lower colon is about to be checked for position by the vet. If normalised, he may regain his appetite a bit and also drink fluids, rather than have iv. Not out of the woods yet but a glimmer of hope

Me and the other AC have gone through a roller coaster of emotions, always encouraging and supportive

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk which I think indicates at least a week of unbroken glorious weather.

So sorry to read fgt that your DH is unwell and all the worry and distress that causes for you.

We are meeting a friend for lunch who moved back to Essex a few months ago. She said she was missing the Suffolk coast so she has booked a long weekend in a lodge on a site overlooking the sea near Dunwich. She doesn’t drive so we’ll collect her from the station, have lunch probably at the beach cafe and then drop her off at the site later.

She is a keen walker and will no doubt have a lovely few days.

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Carlisle. I shall be praying to the rain gods soon, watering is the only garden job I dislike!
I was off into town yesterday and paid a visit to B&Q on the way home. I got everything on my list except the bedding plants I wanted of which there was a poor selection left. I don't know why, it's still a bit early to put them out, we are still getting frost warnings. It will have to be a visit to the garden centres to see what they can come up with. I did get some fuchsias and dianthus and planted them out in the afternoon. The ground is like dust! I had to give it a good soaking.

Today will be a quietish one, a few little jobs, some admin and then I hope to sit out with some reading.

FGT, that's extremely worrying for you, I hope it's really nothing, best wishes to you both.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 09-May-25 07:57:58

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Oh FGT2. 🪻🪻I’m thinking of you both.

The decorators finished the paintwork yesterday so the front of the house is pristine and fresh.

I had my roots done. One day I’ll embrace the grey, but not yet.

OH is out all day with his Shooting club. I will have a very quiet day reading and enjoying the garden. Maybe some baking, but who knows.

Glad to hear the horse is recovering. We always feel so helpless when our animals are unwell.

Have a good day..

monk08 Fri 09-May-25 08:03:24

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
No plans once again will take the day as it comes we are busy next week so it won't hurt to chill.
FGT thinking of you both hope Christies get back to you quick and can reassure you💐.
Have the best day you can everyone, safe travels those on the move☀️.

Thorntrees Fri 09-May-25 08:09:13

Just popping in to send my loving thoughts to FGT and her DH.x

ginny Fri 09-May-25 08:10:16

Good morning from N.Bucks where as as said it is bright but chilly.

DH is feeling easier today and is going to do some more diy jobs for DD2.

I shall make a rhubarb pie and a casserole ready for tomorrow and generally potter which might include some water couloir painting.

Pleased to hear that some poorlies are improving and hope others ( themselves or family) will make improvements.

A good day wished for all.

NannyJan53 Fri 09-May-25 08:11:17

Good morning from a sunny Black Country, where it was quite dull and cloudy yesterday.

Great walk along the canal yesterday from Kinver to Caunsall, with a stop at The Anchor in Caunsall for one of their famous Cobs. Walked over 6 miles.

No real plans today, lawn needs cutting and perhaps a walk this afternoon.

Thinking of you both FGT I hope they get back to you quickly flowers

NannyJan53 Fri 09-May-25 08:11:40

Tried to post a couple of photo's of the walk, but they wouldn't post!

Susan56 Fri 09-May-25 08:11:54

Good morning from sunny Shropshire.

Mum was very frail yesterday, drifting in and out of sleep but very happy to see DD and myself.Moments of lucidity. We had a long chat with her nurses.

Today a blood test first thing, drop some rhubarb off at the community kitchen then this afternoon collect the children for their Friday night sleepover.

Ash it’s good to hear you are feeling so much better.Gingster it’s good to hear how well your husband is doing too.

FGT I hope you hear from the nurse at Christie’s soon and safe journey home.

Sar I hope S is able to take her exams next week and hope that the new biologics improve her condition. What a brave girl but so worrying for you all.

I hope we hear from madeleine today.

Wishing everyone a good day🌻🦩

Susan56 Fri 09-May-25 08:22:30

I hope everything goes smoothly with the move Brook🤞🏻

GrannySomerset Fri 09-May-25 08:22:37

Sad to read FGT’s post and am hoping she gets helpful and supportive advice and that today is better for them. Am still reeling from yesterday’s news that a friend has inoperable pancreatic cancer, so not good all round. Oldies’ coffee morning and gentle gardening on today’s menu.

Good morning all, from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 6°C.
A particularly bad night, I cough for hours, but could not clear the congestion. Poor DH got little sleep because of me..

Belated birthday greeting to Corner.

FGT 💐

I had a very emotional appointment at the Rheumatology clinic yesterday. My clinician was shocked and concerned at how unwell I was and for how long I have been like this, abandoned by my GP.
To my embarrassment, I burst into floods of tears. My despair, keeping my anxiety and fear to myself and DH's ostrich syndrome had all got too much for me. Twice she gave me the most comforting of hugs. 💕

Unfortunately my biologics injections cannot be restarted, despite being in the throes of an RA flare up. Once the suspicious lesions on my neck, lip and mouth have been investigated, a decision will be made about further treatment. It is too risky just now.
I was given a general steroid injection to try dampen down my painful joints and hopefully allow me to enjoy my birthday weekend with my family.
I also will have a consultant appointment, the next one I have is too far away . Unfortunately, there are none available, so someone-one will get back to me.

In the afternoon, DD went with DH to learn the school run routine, in case I am too unwell to do it. Dollie was ecstatic to spot her favourite auntie from the classroom window. She always has to check her papa is there, waiting.
We had ice lollies in the garden, then played boules. Gosh my girls and DH are so competitive. Dollie decided to climb a tree in her new dress and school shoes. Unfortunately, her grampa next door spotted her. He cannot hold his water and will tell DIL. I will be on the naughty step.🤣
What a delightful afternoon, we had.

Yesterday was a day of sad news. My friend's BIL , who would occasionally come on holiday with us, passed away.
Also, DH's golfing partner came over to tell us he is going into isolation in the oncology centre for six weeks for intensive chemo, prior to his bone marrow transplant. His wife, the Ebay messaged me last night with a fuller version. DH hadn't picked up half of the news.😪
It is not looking too hopeful and DH is devastated..

Off to church to decorate it for the first of the First Communion tomorrow..
I am in the bad books, because I will not be there to keep everything running smoothly, First time in thirty five years, I have missed it!
The PP sent me the weekend bulletin yesterday (it is usually last minute) to check for errors and misinformation (a common occurence) and important Restoration project info for the website, he has realised how much I do, but won't be here to do it this weekend. 🤣
I will need to ensure it is disseminated before I go away.

Sar, I hope that the steroids do their magic for your DGD. 💐

Have a lovely day folks.

P,S. Pants, I am coming to you for dinner tonight? 🦐
