A late good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
It's really warm now and I may have to go indoors!
My waterbut is almost empty so I fill a watering can from the kitchen tap.

I was up bright and early setting up our Saturday café which was quiet.

Then my helper and I did a big clear out in the attic. There's more to do but we stuffed my little car and disposed of a lot at the recycle centre tip

We heard that DGS1 has been accepted at St Andrews University which is good news. His dad went there before the Royals made it so popular.

I see you will be there this weekend Marydoll Have a lovely time.

Glad DD'S horse has recovered Karmalady
I can't see my screen in this strong light si I shall sign off.

Good morning all from Co Armagh, lovely and sunny
I’m home alone this weekend , so I’m on watering duty , horrified to discover I can’t lift a full watering can !
I usually load a couple onto my Walker to transport them from the rainwater tank to the plants , but it’s twice as long with half cans , I’m trying to be frugal too as the tank isn’t as full now
Flowers on the tomato plants! And they seem to be setting ,
I’d better get out and finish before it gets too warm

Hoping for a pleasant day for all

Morning all from a very sunny Kent! Marydoll Happy holidays, have a great time with the family around you. Can’t believe the four amigos from St Mags have reached this milestone! The years seem to have flown by - though some were slower than others! I will email/ phone later in the week for a catch up.
After a hectic few days last week - unexpected trip to Wales as BIL had double pneumonia, then car needed attention while there. Trip was cut short, we had hoped to go on to Scotland to visit my 93 year old mother. Car now ( sort of) fixed, it goes back to the garage on Wednesday for another repair.
Meanwhile I have a tentative diagnosis of Polymyalgia rheumatica so started steroids. Doctor wants to see me in the surgery on Tuesday so it must be serious!
I said to DH this morning, I long for one day when I could do all the things I used to without all the health issues. I have a vestibular problem which means I use two walking sticks and yesterday was particularly wobbly. Trying to walk round Sainsbury’s without looking drunk takes a lot of effort. Has to lie down for two hours afterwards. And now the PMR, life is no fun at the moment. All gone down hill since my 70th in January or so it seems. Sorry for the downer, some days are better than others. Thankfully, my DH is happy to do most of the daily chores.
Have a good day fellow GNers!

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
My abscessed tooth saga continues which is a surprise as it was removed eight days ago.
I went along to the art group yesterday still in pain and they said well that’s not right after a week and I found I couldn’t concentrate and felt strange. Back to the dentist and now have two boxes of strong antibiotics. She thinks the infection had gone up into my sinuses…
Fed up with it as going to Greece with the family on Wednesday and rattling with pills.

I’m due to meet a friend at a gallery today but will keep it short and sweet (hopefully).

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. It feels pleasantly warm and the sky is a beautiful clear blue.

Have a wonderful weekend Marydoll, it may do your family good to see how poorly you really are. We’re not indestructible no matter how much we think we are!

Hope your eyes are better today BlueSapphire, I once had a horrible experience after using a new sun cream.

GrannySomerset another difficult day. I hope you have a pleasant time with your friend. flowers

Safe travels to FGT2 and her DH.

Yesterday MrB and I went for a walk across the bridge to the Marina, then around the Marina and back across the opposite side of the bridge. It’s the longest walk I’ve attempted so far with my walker, I was tired afterwards but felt so good too. Today I need to concentrate on my physio exercises as I was reminded how weak the partly paralysed leg is. A gentle stroll will also be on the agenda.

As always, my thoughts are with those under the weather or dealing with sorrow in their lives.

Wishing all you all a happy Friday 🌹♥️

Thankyou for your lovely welcome. I usually read and occasionally post on other threads if I’m feeling brave.
This is always an enjoyable read and an insight into your lives. We never know what life can throw at us but I love that there is always support on here. 💐

A. Bright and sunny Good Morning to you all from N.Bcks.

A quick tidy and local food shop this morning.
After lunch DH will collect his Mum and she wants to go to the local garden nursery. I think it will be very busy. She will stay for dinner this evening.

Happy holidays to Marydoll. and others on their travels.
Kind thoughts to all with illness and other worries.

Good Morning everyone from a beautiful sunny East Coast 🌞

I don’t come on very often but just wanted to send FGT my best wishes and thoughts it’s such a worrying time. 💐 Our best friend is going through the same with her DH.

This afternoon we are looking after our two little granddaughters who are always an absolute delight. We will take them to the park and feed the ducks.
We have a night out tonight for a meal and drinks which we are looking forward to.

Have a lovely day and enjoy the sunshine. x

Good Morning from Durham. Another fine, sunny day, but as a cold fish, I’m still well wrapped up, with heating on in the evenings.
Off to a Farm shop/Fair/Soft Play place near Hexham with DGS2 and family this afternoon. I want to do as much with my DGSs for as long as I can. My
own Mum missed out on so much, because of her health and my MinL just wasn’t bothered.
Safe travels to those venturing out.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a lovely sunny start to the day
Have a lovely holiday Marydoll gorgeous weather!
Thank you all for your kind comments about DD2s house move yesterday. All went well, the old house emptied and thoroughly cleaned and the new house ready. It’s quite a bit smaller so she’ll struggle to fit everything in, in the meantime we’ve got a garage load of things she’s not sure about keeping yet . Anyhow I’m sure we’ll gradually get it all sorted, I hope they’re all happy there and it’s a good fresh start for DD2.
Safe travels today FGT thinking of you both
Gingster he’s doing so well 👍
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Kalu Sat 10-May-25 08:06:17

Good morning all. More sunshine and higher temperatures for the week ahead according to the forecast for Glasgow.

Very basic housework will be done as long as this lovely weather lasts, I will be outdoors as much as possible. Thoughts of early morning coffee, reading my book under a shady tree etc. will be be blissful. Garden pots cleaned out ready to pot up with red geraniums I will go shopping for this weekend.

I do envy you MD, not only shopping in Pretty Little Things but being in St Andrews, another favourite destination of mine as you know. Since my break away with DD1, a few days in St Andrews has been on my mind for a possible next break. You have also struck it lucky with the weather. Enjoy having time with your family for this special birthday.

Thinking of the FGTs

Best wishes to all and hoping this sunnier weather helps to lift the spirits of those coping with difficult times.

Good morning from a beautiful blue skied sunny Suffolk where more of the same is forecast for the next week at least.

The farmers round here have already started irrigating some of the crops which we don’t remember seeing so early before. Remembering the heatwave of 1976 when we were in London in an upstairs maisonette and eldest child born in early June! Trying to keep her cool was quite a task.

The roads around here will be very busy and the coast too so we shall stay at home and enjoy the garden and summerhouse. I must think of birthday presents for DS,DDiL and DGS2 who all have birthdays in the next 10 days.

I hope those travelling for family get togethers have easy journeys and great times and those unwell or worried have a peaceful day.

GrannySomerset Sat 10-May-25 07:55:40

Am sad this morning as it would have been DH’s birthday and am reminded how much I miss him and the man he was. Will mark the day with a widowed friend by having a meal together and going to a concert, both of which we would once have done as a couple.

Otherwise I need to brave the supermarket as the cupboard is bare and I need some flowers too. Thinking of the FGTs and hoping for a good outcome on Monday.

Jaxjacky Sat 10-May-25 07:55:32

Morning from a very sunny S Hants, I share your drought concerns karma.
Usual Saturday paper, we’re going to set up large tubs in the greenhouse for tomatoes and cucumber and I need another one for the runner beans given to me, I’m running out of space in our small garden.
I’m impressed by both the NHS and how well your husband is doing gingster pleased too you’re getting out a little.
Wishing FGT and himself a good journey home.
Enjoy your day Mick and thank you for this warm start to the day.

Thanks folks, my birthday isn't until Wednesday, but I am stretching it out!! 🤣

BlueSapphire Sat 10-May-25 07:51:43

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, wall to wall sunshine forecast for the next couple of weeks!

Had a bad morning yesterday with very sore and stinging eyes, which I put down to hay fever, so felt rubbish. They were better after lunch, and I felt well enough to cut the front grass which sounds like a stupid thing to do given the sore eyes..... However, had no further trouble, no soreness, no stinging, and then I even tidied the.driveway hedge and trimmed the flowering cherry on the.front lawn - I kept getting tangled in its' weeping branches while cutting the grass!

I am putting the sore eyes down to fairly newish face cream and the new sun block I've recently started using. Shall go back to my old ones today and see if it makes any difference.

Feeling slightly better this morning,.still coughing etc, but not so much, so may venture to M&S Food and Sainsbury's on the bus; I desperately need a few things and may have coffee and a snack lunch out. Feeling a bit of cabin fever anyway.

Keeping my fingers crossed for FGT2 and her man.
Have a lovely trip away, Marydoll.

Wishing all a lovely sunshiny 🌞🌞 weekend.

Redcar Sat 10-May-25 07:51:00

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s sunny and mild, a slightly warmer day forecast for us, hopefully without the chilly north easterly wind. Yesterday was pleasant out of the wind. It was lunchtime bingo in the village hall, four games of bingo then a good lunch (jacket potatoes, a variety of fillings and salad) all for £12. No luck on the bingo or the raffle but there’s always next time! pantglas you wouldn’t get far on the winnings from our bingo sessions!
Today I must attack the brambles coming in from my neighbour’s garden.
marydoll enjoy your family holiday!
karma I’m pleased that the horse is making progress.
Your DH is certainly seeing the best of NHS support gingster and it’s good that he is improving so much.
I’m missing madeleine too and hope she’s ok.
Safe journey to the fgts tho day and fingers crossed for a good outcome from the hospital on Monday.

Have the best day possible everyone.
