Good Morning Wednesday 14th May 2025

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where it feels much cooler.

Busy day yesterday, hair cut, charity shop shift then yarn group in the evening.

We had a huge donation from someone who referred to her ‘client’, turned out she was a professional life organiser and had worked with someone to let go of all the items she no longer had space for after downsizing. Who knew such a job existed.

Today I have food shopping and a birthday present to buy for the youngest DGC. No more birthdays till August thank goodness.

Glad to hear the little one is doing well Bella.

Morning from a sunny, dry S Hants, I watched a storm in the distance yesterday as Winchester had very heavy rain, not a drop here. MrJ gave my car a good clean out inside, he laughed about the rubbish in the door pockets, Christmas flyers!
Dentist this morning, not my favourite, sandals to collect from Cotton Traders later.

Good morning from another beautiful sunny Suffolk where it will be all windows open in the village hall where I have my keep fit class.

DS was born 45 years ago on what was a very hot day. DH remembers how hot it was in the delivery suite in UCH at 1am. The TUC had called a day of action which meant that manu union members were on strike and there were very few buses running. We lived in north London and DH had to walk most of the way in to see you. A day to remember in so many ways.

The pub at the harbour of our nearest seaside town has a special offer on fish and chips for 2 on Wednesdays and Thursdays( but not during the school holidays) so I think we’ll pop down this evening. There is a drink included in the price too. Adnams still buys some of its fish locally too.

I’m calling into DD2s this morning and then onto the gym for a Zumba class. I’m then planning to walk into town with a pal and treat myself to a coffee by the river. Simple pleasures but so enjoyable

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and cloudy. Marydoll very happy birthday to you. Thank you all again for your good wishes and exhortations to do nothing. I promise I'm listening!
Yesterday, apart from a quick hoover round and washing the dishes, I did little. I did wash towels but I had already put them in the machine prior to my op and took them out with my grabber. It's a very useful device. I told my aunt about the state of the cupboards and she's said she will clean them for me 😱. That would be mortifying. I had a terrible night's sleep though. My feet and legs were so sore, I finally got up and made a cuppa at half past one.
Today I'm waiting for Amazon to deliver sunglasses and reading glasses. My sunglasses are prescription lenses so not much use now. The reading glasses will do until my other eye is done. The hospital said I'm already on the list for it and it shouldn't be long. I can have a job as the Bionic Woman! Tho most I will do today is change channel on the remote and sniff the air in the garden. Tonight's dinner will be spaghetti bolognaise, courtesy of dd. Have a good day all.

Good morning from the sunny Essex coast. I'm going to the boat with DH today, it's lovely when the sun shines on the river. Lunch packed already.
DH's brother has managed to get two tickets for us to go to Wembley on Saturday to see my team Crystal Palace play in the FA Cup Final. I am so excited.
Happy Birthday to Marydoll , I hope you feel well enough to enjoy your big birthday.

Good morning everyone from a partially sunny/cloudy Northampton, but a fine day is forecast although cooler than yesterday.

Was too late on the phone yesterday morning to get a doctor's appointment, but was successful in the afternoon. I had a thorough examination and an upper respiratory infection was diagnosed (lungs were ok). Delayed antibiotics prescribed: I need to wait three or four days before starting them to see if my cough improves on its own; if not then I take.them, with instructions to return if they don't work.

On the way home I called in at my hairdresser to see if I could change next week's appointment which clashes with my wine club. Luckily she had a cancellation and has fitted me in this afternoon. Yippee!

So it will be a quiet morning of pottering, an early lunch then out on the bus to the village for an afternoon of pampering.

I have felt a bit off colour since my booster on Sunday and feel worse today flu like and an upset stomach. A forced day of rest will hopefully get me back on track.

No wonder you are all upset about your friend having to have a bone marrow transfusion - it's a harrowing procedure. DD's husband went through it 20 years ago, so maybe things have improved in the intervening years. For him it meant that he had another ten years to be with his little family and saw his babies grow into lovely 10 and 12 year olds. He wouldn't have had that without it and was so grateful for it.
Good to hear little twin is home again Bella. How the older twin must have missed his little brother!
Grandmabatty there's plenty of time to tackle your slightly-less-than-perfectly-clean cupboard doors!
I'm going to have to dash now and get going. The sun is shining again after two days of that blessed haar which means I have re-found the energy to tackle the neverending To Do List!

Happy birthday, Marydoll; it snowed the week in May when DH was born, 90 years ago - his mother described seeing snow on the tops of cars when she looked out of the window.

Still waiting for the vital part for the shower and am reminded of childhood with strip washing and hair washing in the kitchen sink with a jug to pour water over. Am entirely fed up with it all! Meanwhile I have singing this afternoon and a certain amount of admin to deal with. Fingers crossed for the FGTs.

Good morning from a sunny Dumfries and Galloway.
Slept until 9.15 this morning after being in the fresh air all day yesterday.
We spent the day at Logan Botanic garden and then watched the red squirrels in our garden.
When it got dark we watched the ISS pass over, third night in a row and apparently we will be treated to 7 minutes of it tonight.

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Yesterday the final procedure at the dentist (hopefully) injection and dry socket seen to. Antibiotics finished and fly to Greece this afternoon for family holiday. Dsister arrives earlier and I arrive with DD and DS tonight. DGD sadly can’t make it this year. DD has been so good making the arrangements.

I found the old series “The Pallisers” on YouTube last night so will enjoy watching the series I didn’t see the first time round.
