We keep hearing about the huge rise in shoplifting but I have never seen anyone doing it - have you? What was taken? How did it make you feel?

Oh they make me sick and I don’t feel sorry for any of them.

I see it regularly at our local Co-Op. Recently I saw a woman in a yellow dress walk in, take a large bag of ice cubes and walk out without paying.

I told a member of staff who thanked me and he said there's nothing they're allowed to do as the ''law'' would support her and have him sacked if he spoke to her and tried to stop her.

Sad world we live in when criminals are worshipped and victims are jailed!

Weirdo - where have you seen shoplifters "worshipped " or " victims jailed" ?

Yes I've seen it a few times in various supermarkets. I just ignored it because people have been badly hurt for challenging shoplifters. I won't take that risk, as I'm not employed by the store. Store employees are told not to do that either as it puts them at risk.

A friend’s old mum accidentally chose a birthday card then forgot it was in her hand. My friend took it back to the shop and apologised. The outraged manager banned the old lady from ever shopping there again.
Of course this was many years ago. Now you can steal anything.

My daughter has to deal with it everyday. They only get challenged if the manager or deputy are present it’s too dangerous to challenge them alone. It’s very disheartening for the staff especially when it’s school children or even parents who encourage young children to steal it happens more than you would think.

I watched a man brazenly open up a packet in Dunelm of an expensive duvet cover and put the cover under the pushchair with his child in and walk out of the shop. He even spoke to me laughing and saying he was taking the shop apart.
It happened so quickly.

I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be allowed, but..
I would have large signs all around the store saying if you are in the process of shoplifting you will be tasered and I would have someone near the door with a taser like a sniper
Like I said, it wouldn’t be allowed, but what is going on in this country with a lot of things not just shoplifting is disgusting and I truly despair.🤷‍♀️😭
