Good morning all and ‘me too’ feeling tired and achey! 🤔.

Happy birthday Ash. It’s mine in a couple of months.1950 was a good year.

Hope you feel better today Bellas and Marydoll. 💐💐.

I managed to get Dh away from the tv for a while and he watered the garden, sorted the rubbish for me to put the bins out and carved the roast chicken. A few excercises (10 mins) so he is progressing but needs more motivation!

Physio coming today and I might encourage Dh to come to the fields with me to walk the dog. He can try out his rollator.

I hope all your days are good ones 🪴🌼

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Happy birthday Ashcombe 🎂🎉🎁 you are exactly a week younger than my DH.
Washing on but as of yet nowhere to hang it DH has his fishing nets on the line, he always hoses them down after contests and leaves them to dry overnight.
Just a wander round local shops via the park then back to my book.
Bellas hope you feel better soon and the boys help to brighten you.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Grandmabatty Mon 19-May-25 08:01:59

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° but cloudy. Such a change after the blue skies previously. Ashcombe a very happy birthday to you. I hope you have a good day. Bellasnana I hope you feel better soon and the boys are well behaved.
Yesterday dd and the boys came round and that eased the boredom for a while.
Today I have a delivery of a new coffee machine to look forward to. I also have to contact the lawyer and the council regarding mum's council tax. The council have sent a final demand notice however mum paid for it monthly and we can't yet access her funds. If it's for this current year, my brother is paying as he lives there. I'll see what they say. Perhaps my brother isn't paying. Nothing would surprise me.
Apart from that, another quiet day. I find my sleep is disordered because I'm not doing much during the day. Hopefully I'll get back to normal soon. Have a good day all

Grandmabatty Mon 19-May-25 08:02:40

I forgot to say I have the date for my other eye - 13th June. Not long!

Kalu Mon 19-May-25 08:09:53

I have just lost my post!

Good morning all. Our weather in Glasgow is changing to cloudier skies, lower temperature and the annoying high winds are back.

I am feeling shivery and sore again this morning which is probably the cause of my low mood yesterday.

GM. I had assumed my symptoms were due to post booster side effects but am now thinking I may have caught this flu which is doing the rounds.
Happy Birthday Ash and many happy returns of the day 🎂
Yes, it sounds exhausting Georgesgran😉. Enjoy every minute of it.
It’s not about winning etc is a hard pill to swallow Jax. Well done to your GS and his team for getting to the final.

Have a good day all and hoping all feeling under the weather begin to feel better soon. Thoughts are with those going through difficult times whatever they may be.

ginny Mon 19-May-25 08:11:43

Good morning from N.Bucks where it is currently cloudy and dry with a low breeze.
A day of bits and bobs for me. I will make a list so I don’t forget anything . It is quite satisfying to tick jobs off as they are completed.
Happy birthday Ashcombe.
Thoughts with all who have illness or other troubles or worries.
A good day wished for all.

harrigran Mon 19-May-25 08:13:45

Good morning from the NE where the sun is starting to shine.
Yesterday was cold and grey such an anti climax after the wonderful week in Scotland.
I did one load of washing but felt really unwell, pelvic pain and sore joints not eased with painkillers.
Today I will try and do some light housework and look in the freezer for dinner tonight.
Happy Birthday Ashcombe, enjoy your day.
Thoughts are with FGTs.

Taichinan Mon 19-May-25 08:20:44

Good morning all and happy birthday Ash.
Grandmabatty that's good news!
Well I guess that's summer over for now. It was so lovely having all that sunshine and those lovely sunsets.
I slept well last night, which was such a relief after a week of only three or four hours a night. Perhaps now I'll get my mojo back again.
Nothing to report from here so off I shall trot - I'm suffering from grey-clouditis already! Enjoy your day everyone.

Beechnut Mon 19-May-25 08:26:09

GrannyIvy Mon 19-May-25 08:29:58

Good morning from the Algarve where after a lazy day by the pool yesterday we are going to do one of our favourite walks today. Tomorrow we collect our hire car so we can explore further.

Happy Birthday to Ashcombe 🎂 🎈

I am another who often reads magazines and newspapers from the back to front 😂 I am also left handed!

Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

Grandmabatty Mon 19-May-25 08:35:13

Lovely quilt GrandMattie

GrannySomerset Mon 19-May-25 08:38:08

New shower pump due to be fitted and gardener and I need to deal with the new plants so a busy day ahead. At least after the gardening a shower will be possible - provided everything goes to plan. Wish me luck!

Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire. We may get some rain. Just a flying visit as MrB is taking me out. I’ll read the full thread later.

Sending love and strength to those in need of it and hope things improve.

Wishing you all a happy Monday ♥️🌹

Greyduster Mon 19-May-25 08:47:46

I watched an amazing programme on Netflix last night called “Quilting”, about a group of prisoners (some serving life) in a maximum security prison who make quilts for children in foster homes. Their work is truly beautiful and it was humbling to see the fulfilment they get out of it and the end results.

Grandmadinosaur Mon 19-May-25 08:55:55

Good morning all from a cloudy East Yorkshire countryside. We have a bit of blue sky which looks more promising than over the weekend.

Wishing you a very Happy birthday Ashcombe enjoy your day 💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 19-May-25 09:03:30

Morning all from West Oxfordshire where the sky is grey and it feels muggy.

The cleaner is due this morning and I will do a Waitrose shop and buy petrol - it’s 1.29 at our local garage.

I have a blood test later, which is part of my long term conditions review. I did the rest at home - blood pressure check, weight and height.

OH is playing U3A croquet after lunch. I will make Guinea fowl stock.

Have a good day. Celebrations and commiserations to lots of you. Thinking of the FGT2S who will be back at the hospital.

glammagran Mon 19-May-25 09:12:39

Good morning from an overcast Wiltshire.

Just dropped in to wish Ash a very happy 75th birthday today. 🥂🎂.

I’m sorry you’re not feeling well currently Bella. I hope you a feeling much better soon. Could it be noravirus? My GC were always very generous in sharing it with me but never with DH.

Only a couple more days of sunny weather to come before normal service is resumed. School pickup this afternoon. Tomorrow DD2 and family are off to Lanzarote for a week.

Have a good start to the week everyone.

Stilllearning Mon 19-May-25 09:12:44

Morning from windy South Lanarkshire, only 9 degrees at the moment.

Happy Birthday Ashcombe, your picture yesterday was lovely.

I’m off shortly to the hospital to have an eye scan, checking on what’s happening with my macular degeneration.
Hope everyone feeling unwell have a better day as it goes on.

I was pleased last night to manage to track down the correct recipient of a letter delivered to me at the end of last week. It was my address but a name I didn’t know at all. I asked neighbours but no one recognised it. Last night I suddenly realised it was from UCAS and some poor girl would be waiting anxiously so I bit the bullet and embarked on a practically door to door search of the streets round about with similar names to mine and was so happy to find her! I left before she opened it, so I hope it was good news.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Aldom Mon 19-May-25 09:15:39

Well done, Stillearning. What a thoughtful person you are. smile flowers

grandMattie Mon 19-May-25 09:52:41

This is the quilt I’ve been struggling to finish - nearly done!

grandMattie Mon 19-May-25 09:53:09

Sorry. Repeat…🤨

GrandmaC47 Mon 19-May-25 11:06:43

Happy Birthday, Ash.
Hope those feeling poorly are better soon.
I’m exhausted after the journey from Preston to Co Durham yesterday, but worth it to spend time with my sister.
Thought as ever with the Fgt’s and others with worries.

Litterpicker Mon 19-May-25 11:32:39

Good morning from West Sussex where the cloud has cleared but it is quite breezy.

I need to get the house and garden sorted before we go away for most of June. We have way too many small plants and seedlings - tomatoes, peppers, cosmos…. Every year I resolve to have an easy care garden with more permanent planting and the same at our half-size allotment plot. Every year I get carried away with some new plans and plants.

I share in those rejoicing at the FA cup result (Sar and maybe others) as my son-in-law is a lifelong supporter of Crystal Palace and both he and DGS were at the match along with a group of family and friends. DGD was jealous but she had decided she needed to save her money for her 2 holidays (in June and August), so had to watch at home with her mum. DH and I joined in the excitement, watching at home, though neither of us really follow football - I just check the results so that I can congratulate or commiserate as appropriate!

Lovely to see the photo of the Dunkirk boat heading out to France, Sar. And your cheerful-looking quilt, GM.

Sorry you are feeling worse again MD. Sympathy for the several here this morning with pain or nasty bugs.

Happy 75th, Ash. Your Dutch trip was a lovely way to mark it.
