Which COUNTY/region would you live in, if not your own

I was brought up on the Isle of Wight and miss it very much but I'm well used to the noise and bustle of my surroundings now near London. I visited Frinton on Sea last year and I really liked it - there's a lot going on there and people were very friendly and welcoming

North Norfolk or The New Forest.

Cornwall. I was born right on the Devon/Cornwall border.

Bristol

Durham.

Fife

Isle of Mann - such a beautiful, relaxing place. We have had many happy holidays here.

Sussex where I went to school.One of the little villages at the foot of the Downs,north of Brighton.My brother lives there,it is stunningly beautiful.

My husband and I lived in North Yorkshire for 15 years. We used to go on camping holidays there a lot and thought it would be great to live there. We were from the Midlands originally .After my Husband passed away, my Son suggested that I moved to Lancashire to be nearer to him and his wife.It was a good idea .I am not familiar with the area but gradually getting used to it.

I like where I live - London, but I also like East and West Sussex.

Back to my birth county - Cornwall . Devon at a push.

Somerset, it’s only semi laid back, my second daughter has her family there. Maybe Devon, rural not coastal, we’re not nautically inclined, nice to visit the seaside on a sunny day.

North Yorkshire. Somewhere where I could see the moors and the sea

The Norfolk coast but, and it’s a big but, it would be too far from our family so it would have to be The Cotswolds.

North Norfolk for just about everything.
Somerset because it’s a county I’m only just getting to know and I love it so far.
The Isle of Wight because it’s my spiritual home but I’d have to win the lottery to afford the ferry fares.

I would like to say East Sussex because I have family living near Glyndebourne but it’s so crowded now. The roads are ridiculously busy and I like a slower pace of life.

I thought I'd found the perfect place to move to, having visited it on numerous occasions.
However, when I looked -up the various statistics online I found out that my "ideal town" was plagued by violent crime & antisocial behaviour!
Make sure you do your research thoroughly, Google maps even show you where the supermarkets, bus stops & train stations are, very useful!

Suffolk for me, either inland or near the sea. Norfolk a close second. My son used to have a lovely house in Norfolk near Fakenham, so I know the area fairly well.

I was born in London and I would love to live there again but I couldn't even afford a garage if I wanted to return to live anywhere near where I was brought up.

Norfolk or Cumbria or Cornwall!

But if it moved to Norfolk, I wouldn’t have the Peak District right on my doorstep, and that would be very hard to leave!

We have lived in;-
Essex - busy, lots of facilities and things to do, some beauty spots e.g. Dedham, congested roads.

North Yorkshire - beautiful - very cold in Winter and can be isolating.

Leicestershire- very beautiful counryside and a lot to do a kinder climate than above.

Cheshire - very congested roads, prices higher than all the former.

In answer to the question - Suffolk but otherwise stay in Leicestershire.

I was talking to two ladies at u3a today and the three of us had moved here to be closer to family, in a small market town with all the facilities you need plus good public transport, and a city not far away.
If I could replicate those in a more scenic area, it might be North Yorkshire, Norfolk or maybe Sussex. Unlikely, however.

Interesting replies! so many beautiful places mentioned here, sometimes it's hard to pinpoint just one. I do like to transpose myself sometimes in my mind's eye to living in other parts of Britain it's the Escape to the Country effect that sends me off into these realms of fantasy.

Actually I love my own too Norah, I was knocked out on Escape to the Country last week when Alistair Appleton showed the viewers around his very quirky off grid house that had amazing views over the Seven Sisters. Sussex beaches are a bit too stony for my liking though, with the exception of West Wittering. I like a sandy beach, In that respect I've enjoyed lovely walks on stunning beaches in Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Wales and Holkham in Norfolk, Bamburgh, Northumberland another wow! but a bit chilly.
