Welcome! Please make yourselves comfortable. I thank you all for your patience and support throughout the times that we've shared. flowers

Thanks brook. I’ll help with the wine and some nibbles. A reward for ironing completed grin.

Have a good evening everyone. Cheers.

Good evening *Soop and lovely Kitchen people!*🥰

I'm returning to the cool, quiet corner with some SB and nibbles, cheers, brook!

My sister dropped me home from my massage appointment, I sat down and promptly fell asleep! 😴 My shoulder and arm feel a good bit more comfortable, I'm hoping to be driving again soon.
I had a lovely relaxing few days at St Andrew's with my brother, sister in law and their gorgeous labradoodle. We walked him on the famous sands ( Chariots of Fire) had lunch overlooking the Old Course, and enjoyed delicious ice cream in the town.
Generally relaxed at their comfy caravan, they spoiled me!
I'm playing catch up with Kitchen news, wishing everyone a peaceful Thursday evening. TOYA, especially those with illness, worries or sorrow. NNGB.

Thank you, soop, for this new, warm & welcoming kitchen.

Lots of lovely goodies to share, thanks all! x

Grran Thu 22-May-25 21:53:28

Evening all! Thanks for the new kitchen Soop. Cosy and welcoming as usual 🤗

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 22-May-25 22:15:19

Thank you for the new kitchen Soop! I could put a chocolate cake on the side!

I am thinking of you Soop as you mourn your sister. FGTS - you both sound very brave.

I had a good day at a craft centre making a type of African quilting. My effort wasn’t too bad and am keen to have another go!

I don’t think I’ve had such a busy week as this for ages. I am attending a lecture on William de Morgan tomorrow and I am having lunch with my difficult friend on Saturday. Elder son and his family are coming on Sunday and my granddaughter will stay until Tuesday. I think I can relax on Wednesday.

Sleep 💤 tight.

Thank you for the new kitchen soop I shall now return to my chair in the quiet corner.

TillyTrotter Fri 23-May-25 07:34:53

Deepest sympathy dear soop. Losing a sister who you have known and loved for a lifetime is heartbreaking.
May she rest in peace.
Take comfort from your family, and the treasured memories of your little sister. 💐

A quick visit to say hi to everyone...FGT's I hope all goes well today.

Grannmarie Fri 23-May-25 09:28:23

Good morning everyone.
Hello 👋 Neine, I hope your wedding preparations are going well.

Thinking of FGTs💕🙏 and all with health concerns and appointments.

Usedtobeblonde Fri 23-May-25 11:07:17

Good morning all.
Fine but cooler here today, I am hiding in my room as my GD and her BF are both working from home today.
My two GS’s go back to their older brother today after nearly a month here, they are back the week after next for a week,
I now mostly have a household of six.
I am so tired of it but there is no immediate resolution.
The older one is 16 on Sunday,
They are no trouble, just here.
I would never have foreseen this when my H died, just perhaps a quiet, empty house, well it certainly isn’t that.

Lots of worse things I know, many of our kitcheners know and are going through them.
I should count my blessings maybe.

Take care everyone and enjoy the Bank Holiday if you are able.

spottybook Fri 23-May-25 11:51:21

We have just returned from holiday in Italy so will drop off some Italian ice cream on my way back to the quiet corner.

dustyangel Fri 23-May-25 12:06:09

Thank you soop for opening up this new kitchen. I’m so very sorry to hear your sadnews about your sister.

I’m later getting here than I meant to be, everything seems to slow me down in the heat we’ve been having. Are there any chocolate brownies left? I really fancy a homemade one but I daren’t make any myself or I’d scoff the lot. blush

Thoughts with doodle having an operation on her wrist today, a tough week for her 🌹 as well as FGT with himself having a scan.

Jaxjacky Fri 23-May-25 13:04:34

You have a barrow load more patience than me utbb xx

Blossoming Fri 23-May-25 15:58:10

Hope Doodle is through the surgery and recovering well.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 23-May-25 16:27:17

Thinking of Doodle 🌺

kittylester Fri 23-May-25 17:05:19

I missed that Doodle is having an op. I do hope all goes well.

And, for FGT and himself.

Sending love to utbb for coping, it is hard.

Hugs for soop too. And for anyone else with trials and tribulations in their lives.

Grannmarie Fri 23-May-25 17:20:00

Thanks for the heads up on Doodle, Jaxjacky. 👍 I hope all goes well for her.
I hope your back is a bit more comfortable today. TOYA

Usedtobeblonde Fri 23-May-25 17:22:13

My GS’s are not going tonight now.
It is “inconvenient “ for their brother.
He has had a piece of my mind and we are very cross with him, unfortunately he has a controlling partner who we don’t get on with.
She is trying to take him away from his family, an increasing phenomenon in younger people.

Grandmabatty Fri 23-May-25 17:22:33

Doodle all the best after your op

TillyTrotter Fri 23-May-25 18:44:50

Hope your recovery is swift doodle
and that eating is easier for FGT’s DH
🍀

brook2704 Fri 23-May-25 19:32:28

Doodle hoping all has gone well with your operation, sending gentle hugs

UTTB 💐

Redcar Fri 23-May-25 19:41:21

Hope that fgt’s DH is able io eat more today and that the scan went well. An anxious wait for the results no doubt.

doodle I hope you make a swift and complete recovery.
utbb I’m sorry your grandsons aren’t going to their brother this evening, unsettling for everyone.
I collected my prescription this morning then walked on round the village to get some ready meals for next week. I’m on dog sitting duties on Tuesday and Wednesday while DD1 and her family are away for a couple of days. DD2 is also away, so just me and the dog for two days! Had my hair cut and coloured this afternoon and a good catchup with my lovely hairdresser.

I’m waiting for the promised rain tonight and hope to be able to do a little gardening tomorrow, back permitting.

Have a peaceful evening everyone. Thoughts and gentle hugs for those in the quiet corner and anyone else in need.

Jaxjacky Fri 23-May-25 20:12:37

Thanks Grannmarie it is, I just need to go gently instead of gung ho in the garden tomorrow, awaiting rain here too Redcar
Village butcher this morning for our family bbq on Monday - could be umbrellas in play! Tesco delivered this afternoon - how did I forget cheese…probably as I was focused on burger buns and suchlike.
Pub earlier, sat out clutching my cardigan, arms crossed, plenty of others did too, a glimpse of sun, all outside!

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 23-May-25 22:25:51

Hello kitchen people.

Thinking of those with difficulties especially the FGT2S.

I attended an interesting lecture on William de Morgan today. Apart from the V&A and Kelmscott, I have seen examples of his pots in a Design Museum in Vienna. I did very little for the rest of the day apart from laundry and ironing.

Sleep 💤 tight.
