I’ve only just caught up this evening with this thread and was astounded to read of the goings-on regarding FGT. Such a supportive poster, she welcomed me when I joined some years back and her kindness shines through despite going through such tough times. Sending love to Fgt & Himself - come back soon. 💐

Redcar Sat 07-Jun-25 21:19:17

I do hope that something can be done to reinstate fgt.

A showery day here, with a long spell of steady rain late afternoon/early evening. But that’s enough now thank you!!
Changed the bedclothes this morning, had the usual struggle with the new duvet cover! Washed it all and tumbled it dry, I’ll iron it tomorrow. I staked the tomato plants but need to tie them in tomorrow. I managed to prop up my poor crashed rose bush. It looks as if it will recover eventually.
I went to DD1s for a fish and chip supper with all the family. It’s my number 1 son in law’s birthday on Monday. A bittersweet day for him as it will be 5 years tomorrow since his mum died.
Good to see the family together, littlest spent some time swinging from her cousin’s gymnastics bar, assisted by her eldest cousin! Lovely to see the four girls playing together.
A quiet day for me tomorrow.
Night night everyone.

Another lurker who is annoyed that FGT has been banned.

Millie22 Sat 07-Jun-25 20:18:40

Whatever is going on? 🤔

Fgt for you 💖

Aldom Sat 07-Jun-25 19:56:41

If you are reading this FGT you are in my thoughts. I'm hoping you can be reinstated as I think GN has been a real place of safety and support for you. Wishing the best for you and your husband. flowers

Hi all. We appreciate your concern for your fellow GNer but we're sure you understand why we don't generally go into detail about our interactions with individual posters. We can say that we've been in touch with FGT off the boards today regarding the status of their account.

I’m completely disgusted and horrified at FGT’s ban, what on earth is going on with GN when an incredibly supportive and kind poster, who is going through an extremely upsetting and traumatic experience and getting incredible support from this thread, is cut off just like that.
A similar thing happened with poor Phoenix, who died weeks afterwards.
Do GN moderators ever actually think about the impact of their actions?
I’m beginning, like others, to wonder whether I actually want to be on GN any more.

Doodle Sat 07-Jun-25 19:25:35

Another here who is horrified at FGT being banned at such a. Time. Let’s hope she’s back soon.

brook2704 Sat 07-Jun-25 19:17:55

Thank you for your update Rosie, hopefully things will be resolved soon and FGT soon back with us

Grannmarie Sat 07-Jun-25 19:02:44

Jaxjacky

I will report this post and ask them to read, both here, on GM and the thread that’s involved

Thanks for doing that, Jaxjacky. 👍

Grannmarie Sat 07-Jun-25 18:59:37

Thinking of FGT, fingers crossed 🤞 she's back with us soon. This hoohaa is the last thing she needs at the present moment, but it's heartwarming to see all the support for FGT, not only from our kitchen friends and Mick's GM posters, but also from so many visitors and 'lurkers' who've popped in to express their disappointment at the situation.

A very good day indeed, Grandmabatty, I can almost taste that fish supper!

I've had a good day too, quite different to the quieter Saturdays I've been having lately. DGD and Grandpup arrived at 8.30 for the day, DDIL1 dropped them off and collected them at 5pm. So the day revolved round their interests and routines, catching up on her news, three short dog walks, and cooking DGD'S favourites...scrambled eggs for breakfast, macaroni cheese for lunch, and beef links sausage casserole in onion gravy, with mash and veg. That girl has some appetite and it did me good because my meals have been a bit hit and miss lately. DDIL1 provided a tin of home baked banana muffins, yummy! It was good to see them and catch up, DS1 and DGS1 are away camping/ fishing this weekend.

Ds2 and the Wee Boy phoned, hoping to see them soon. DS3 and lovely girlfriend are away to a festival this weekend...that's why it's raining ☔ 🤣

Wishing everyone a peaceful Saturday evening and a good night's sleep. TOYA.

Grandmabatty Sat 07-Jun-25 18:27:45

Maria59 are you someone who had a different name? 😁
Today has been a busy day. I nipped to the local garden centre for birthday cards and presents. Lots of housework done. I stripped the bed, washed the sheets etc, dried them and towels and did an ironing later. I weeded the path which is long and very weedy. I made lentil soup in the slow cooker too. My aunt and uncle popped in for tea and a chat. As two of the birthdays were theirs, I'm glad I got their presents! I've put weedkiller down on the path to stop the nasty buggers regrowing. I intended to have chicken and leek pie for dinner, but realised I had forgotten to buy it, so a fish supper it was. The chippy was empty (good timing) so it was made up for me as soon as I went in. The only bad thing is the weather. It's been torrential showers off and on all day.
It's been a good day. I hope you all have had a good day too.

Maria59 Sat 07-Jun-25 17:40:22

Rosieand her Maw that sounds more hopeful. I will be buttering a crumpet in solidarity with fellow gransnetters.

Blossoming Sat 07-Jun-25 17:32:10

Thank you Annie, I have been feeling quite upset as I know how important the support on here has been to FGT2.

It has rained almost nonstop here today so no walk. Have a peaceful evening all ♥️

RosieandherMaw Sat 07-Jun-25 17:26:06

I think things might be looking more hopeful, perhaps temporary and not a “full life sentence” with no remission for good behaviour.
Can’t say more but I (like possibly others) feel less like getting my coat too.
I am still basking in the proud mum glow of Thursday night at Holland Park Opera at The Flying Dutchman, designed by D2. Out of this world music and singing and an exciting production.
For once the soprano was not built like an East German shot putter but a slim, young woman who was totally convincing as Senta.
Shame about the weather - in true British fashion, flaming June was more like Drizzly November but it would have taken more than that to drown my spirits.
I have passed on various messages expressed here to FGT2 and she is truly touched by everybody’s support and shock.
Fingers crossed it all comes good for her.

Naughtyneine Sat 07-Jun-25 17:13:39

Annie
If you are in contact with FGT again could you please pass on all our love and Good Wishes and tell her about the overwhelming level of support for her that has been on GN all day...and I really hope that now GN are aware of all the facts regarding what she is going through there will be a softening of heart and allow her back where we can continue to be there for her and her husband .

Jaxjacky Sat 07-Jun-25 17:05:20

Thank you for responding Annie

cornergran Sat 07-Jun-25 16:49:57

Thank you for your post annie.

kittylester Sat 07-Jun-25 16:15:21

Thanks for your post, Annie.

Not specifically re FGT2, but could you tell us what causes a poster to be banned? I realise posts are deleted for breaking guidelines but what takes it a step further?

Grran Sat 07-Jun-25 15:43:03

I agree with UTBB that it would be good practice to PM someone instead of reporting them.

Is that something that GN could promote.

I’m hoping that GN reinstate FGT now that they realise the implications of their act, and the depth of our concern for her at this horrible time.

FGT, sending you a 🤗

AnnieGransnet (GNHQ) Sat 07-Jun-25 15:13:40

Fairislecable Sat 07-Jun-25 14:56:38

I hardly ever post but am a friendly lurker, I am also shocked that FGT2 has been banned. There are lots of things on threads that I like, dislike or agree with, that is the very nature of an open forum. To ban someone who is going through a very difficult life situation is not what this supportive thread is about.

Please Mods Reinstate at once.

Jaxjacky Sat 07-Jun-25 14:51:29

I will report this post and ask them to read, both here, on GM and the thread that’s involved

kittylester Sat 07-Jun-25 14:22:44

Thing is, I'm not sure the moderators read the posts unless they are reported so they won't know how cross/upset we are.

harrigran Sat 07-Jun-25 14:15:25

I am disgusted at the moderators.
I have been on GN since the very beginning and am now considering whether to continue.
There are lots of us who have been in FGTs position and were supported, shame on you for denying her.

Yiayia4 Sat 07-Jun-25 13:54:40

If your reading this FGTI’m so very sorry to hear this.Tried to PM but no luck.Sending love and best wishes to you both and sincerely hope you will be back with us soon.❤️
