Good morning from Giffnock, two nights here this week which feels very leisurely except for one of their cats who is evidently delighted and tries to sit on my knee anytime I sit down.

Really sorry to hear your DD is in hospital again Gingster, I hope she feels better as soon as possible.

Beautiful nails ladies💕

Those days are horrible Georgesgran, the only thing is it will pass.

I had a really nice start to my day, 10 year old DGS is a quite a clever boy but although he can, has totally refused to read anything other than basic school requirements.
He woke me up and told me to follow the trail he had laid from my bedroom door, using a suite of heart cards. It led to a book he had bought using a voucher I gave him at Easter which he had finished reading. He said “I know it worried you granny but I was anxious in case I couldn’t pronounce the words properly”???? ❤️❤️❤️

Best wishes to everyone for a decent day.

gingster I’m sorry your DD is so poorly again. I hope she improves soon and can return home.

Good morning from West Sussex. It’s overcast here. I hope we get some rain.

We met up with DD3, SiL and youngest DGDs (6 and 10), yesterday at a local countryside centre. The weather was much better than we expected and they had a great day exploring the woodland, playing with and on various structures around the site and eating of course - ice-creams were allowed in the afternoon after youngest had eaten at least part of a sandwich and an apple at lunch. She likes her ‘snacks’; meals not so much! The 10 year old was very tolerant of doing things with her little sister though she did have a round of crazy golf with her dad while youngest played in the sandpit.

We are going to their place on Thursday - they haven’t yet decided what they want to do. Today I have a long list of things that need to be done before we go away next week- plants to move from pots into the ground, washing, cleaning, tidying, contacting friends who haven’t yet been alerted that we may appear on their doorsteps on our tour around N Ireland 😁

Gingster, so sorry to hear your DD is poorly again.

Marydoll, i hope that ‘urgent’ appointment appears sooner than soon.

LFL, your DGD hair looks a bit like my 10 year old DGD’s. Lovely to be encouraging her to take care of nature.

Thoughts with those who are struggling with loss and loneliness 💐. And also with all affected by the tragic incident in Liverpool.

Sorry Gingster to hear your DD is so poorly again. May she get well soon.

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Yesterday was ironing, pottering and singing. Music club this afternoon and my right jaw is sore for some reason. Maybe lying on it awkwardly. Thank you for your kind remarks re my watercolour yesterday.
Shocked by events in Liverpool, my hometown.

Lovely photos and thoughts to Gingster and her DD 🌺

Good morning all. Sunny and dry in Glasgow this morning which is a welcome return.

Another non event day yesterday not helped by torrential rain..
If it stays dry long enough. I will attempt to prune back the ivy growing at the side of the house, it’s beginning to resemble The Day of The Triffids, a task I find satisfying, the perfect antidote to dark thoughts. Just to stay dry would be a bonus.

Georgesgran. I get it. I hope you feel your mood lifting today. 💐
I’m ok doing my fingernails but I now find it more and more difficult stretching down to do my toenails. I feel like a bit of pampering is due so I think pedicures are the answer. I’ve thought about it long enough and will book an appointment this week.

Such a tragic event for Liverpool. My heart goes out to all families involved in this mindless act.

My best wishes to all for a smooth trouble free day.

Blossoming Tue 27-May-25 09:17:52

Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire.

No walk again yesterday, still too wet and windy. I am awaiting a call from my GP surgery regarding my recent kidney test.

I am feeling saddened and sickened by the news from Liverpool, a city I love.

As always, my thoughts are with those under the weather or dealing with sorrow in their lives.

Wishing everyone a happy Tuesday 🌹♥️

Gingster I am sorry to hear your daughter is so unwell again.I wish her a quick recovery and also some answers from the scans🙏🏻

Take care of yourself💐

Grammaretto Tue 27-May-25 08:56:55

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cool but sunny.

After yesterday's funeral and wake, I accepted a lift home and invited a couple of friends for a cuppa in my greenhouse, out of the wind and rain.

We talked of death and life and all that among the seedlings.

Today an old young friend is flying in from NY to give a lecture in Edinburgh, to which I'm invited. He has recently married and intends to live in the USA ‐-of all places--
People never fail to surprise me. I hope he will stay for a few days and help me with my books.

As for people's 💅 well! What to say.
I am getting my toenails cut tomorrow which will have to do.
😂🤣😅

Enjoy your bee hotel Llfl.
I love that baby doll was saving her first performance for both of you Marydoll . What an honour!

Hope all with sadness and pain have a better day and find something to keep them going.

yogitree Tue 27-May-25 08:51:38

Good morning from Dunblane where the weather is a mixed bag. The garden is happy after nearly 5 weeks with no rain, and so am I - all that watering! Today I am very stiff and sore but will go to my yoga class just shortly which usually sorts that out! Have the best day everyone.

Gingster Tue 27-May-25 08:49:42

Good morning all.

A busy few days here - Dd is in hospital again with extremely high temperature, swollen glands and a stiff sore jaw. Bad headaches and vomiting. Her immune system is shot! Whenever she picks some type of virus up, she can’t fight it off.

She’s had more scans so we await the results.
Little DGD is staying with us. We’ll visit today but can’t stay long as I don’t want to leave Dh too long.

We’ll probably go on the bus as parking is almost impossible.

Dh has an ear appointment this afternoon, so need to be back in time to take him.

Take care all

Taichinan Tue 27-May-25 08:46:14

Good morning all from a sunny Angus coast where the perpetual wind seems to have dropped for the moment.
As soon as I heard the shocking news yesterday you popped into my mind Sallyforth as you had mentioned your DGS would be there. I was so relieved that you posted this morning that all was well with him.
I was very tired all weekend so did very little except doze, but yesterday I got my energy back and galloped through a very boring to do list. How things mount up over such a short space of time! I did gather some sprays of lilac from the tree beside the back door - what a gorgeous perfume.
Today is just tai chi and a quick top up shop and then home, but I'm looking forward to meeting up with DD and New Man at the weekend. They are up here to spend time with DGDs 1 and 3 and 'working from home' there.
Enjoy your day everyone.

NanKate Tue 27-May-25 08:35:27

Good morning Mick and All from a cloudy South Bucks.

Off to Rummikub today and looking forward to a piece of freshly baked cake that one of our group makes for us - Yum.

I like your top Karmalady 👍

luluaugust Tue 27-May-25 08:14:18

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Back to the optician to try again to get my glasses to fit. I am thinking of returning to the independent optician u used before lockdown although they are expensive. Otherwise a visit to M&S.
loving the smart nails, I have just painted mine a cheerful pink.
Georgesgran Hope today is better for you and Marydoll you get some news about your mouth very soon
Thinking of the injured in Liverpool
Best wishes

Marydoll Tue 27-May-25 08:04:09

Baubles, I remember the orange toenails, you had last year. I had toenail envy.😉

Georgesgran,, you are always so supportive of others, I hope today is a better day for you. 😘

Liberty Tue 27-May-25 08:02:03

Good morning from a bright Suffolk after light rain yesterday evening, probably not enough to soften the hard soil but better than nothing.

Lovely to see DS and family yesterday and to be shown all( and Imean all) the features on his new car by vehicle mad 11 year old DGS3.

Apart fro a visit to a friend’s surgery o collect her prescription as she is unable to drive at the moment, today will be a quiet one at home.

Thinking about all those injured and anxious after the dreadful incident in Liverpool yesterday and their families. A dreadful ending to what would have been for those at the parade and the city generally a weekend of pride and celebration.

Marydoll Tue 27-May-25 07:59:42

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is a sunny 8°C.
Such a difference from the torrential rain yesterday.
Our journey to DS's was horrendous, flooded roads, with people taking no notice of the road conditions.

So relieved to hear that those with family, who were out and about in Liverpool are safe. Thinking of those, who have been affected by it.
I was most impressed by the professionalism of those involved in the news conference.

Unusually, Babydoll went home just after lunchtime, because her mum arrived back early. I fell asleep, on our return, . I have no energy at all.
She wasn't any bother and helped with the housework. She loves to clean!

To our surprise she told us, she was going to get her potty, Pee gaga, in tummy. She sat on it and filled it, first time ever!
We were given a running commentry, complete with a variety of comical facial expressions. She then told us proudly, Worked, Gaga, Papa, It was hilarious.
She repeated this a while later.
DS was a bit miffed, when we told him. They have been trying unsuccessfully for ages to potty train her.
How to make your children feel a failure as parents! 🤣

I plan to try and catch up on some household tasks today. As DH says, it is great to have a day of no responsibilities.
My mouth pain is unbearable, no sign of my urgent appointment, so I will avoid morning Mass.
I don't really want to engage with people.

Ash, a disappointment for you, but don't give up.

Hollysteers, a beautiful picture yesterday.

I too have nail envy, mine are awful. The only time I ever had false nails was at my son's wedding.
I had the keys to open up the church, but couldn't do it, due too the length of my nails! 🤣

I wish you all a pleasant day and hugs to all, who are struggling.

harrigran Tue 27-May-25 07:55:36

Good morning from the NE where it is still windy. It is getting brighter after overnight rain.
Very quiet day yesterday, watched TV and did some crosswords, couldn't be bothered to make a proper dinner so had a pizza and a rocket salad.
SIL is travelling home to Brussels today.
DS and family are in Ireland, he took his mandolin with him and played it in the garden and the cows all gathered at the fence to listen.
GD posted pictures of Game of Thrones studio tour and murals of the Derry girls.
Today will be another quiet day but must make an effort to be more active.
Have a good day.

baubles Tue 27-May-25 07:55:05

Hah didn’t mean to post two photos!

baubles Tue 27-May-25 07:52:31

Good morning from brightening South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday the weather was absolutely dire. I too have a new manicure Bella, not as fancy as yours which is beautiful.

Very clever Karma, enjoy wearing the fruit of your labour.

We are off to Edinburgh later, in time for the school & nursery pick up. DDoutL has to be away for work overnight so we will do drop off and pick up tomorrow too.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Jaxjacky Tue 27-May-25 07:48:38

Morning, grey outside, the earlier sun has gone, rain due later and the wind has at last dropped. Family bbq went ahead yesterday, but blankets were required for a couple of people and there were spots of rain, leftovers tonight.
Lovely Bellas wouldn’t last me five minutes, always got my hands in dirt!
Disappointing Ashcombe next time 🤞
MrJ is off to work, I need to get a wash on, water hanging baskets and make a couple of calls.
Oh, we came second in quiz last night!
🦩🦩

ginny Tue 27-May-25 07:42:39

Good morning. It’s overcast in this part of Shropshire at the moment.
We had a day around the house and garden yesterday. A few went to the swimming pool and we played board games.
Don’t know yet what today’s plans are, just waiting for the rest of the family to appear.
Wishing all a good day.

BlueSapphire Tue 27-May-25 07:37:11

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, but alas, it will not last; heavy rain is expected from late morning, so I will probably not get out for my health walk after lunch.

Got all my planned tasks done yesterday: cleaned the bathroom including washing the floor; washed up and tidied the kitchen; damp dusted the sitting room, then hoovered downstairs. Had my lunch, then caught up with newspapers, and spent the afternoon reading my Patricia Highsmith thriller.
I made a pea and ham soup for dinner in the pressure cooker - it was delicious, and there are two portions left.

Will vacuum the sitting room furniture this morning, then take the Shark upstairs. As I'm not expecting to walk this afternoon I shall spend the time reading instead.

Lovely top karma. And beautiful nails, Bella.

Wishing all a pleasant day.
