Good morning from a sunny NE after overnight rain.
I am going to struggle today, I have lost a screw from my glasses and the lens fell out.
DS posted pictures of them at the Giant's Causeway, it was crowded with tourists.
I will do some light housework and maybe some reading.
Have a good day.

Any optician will provide and then replace the screw on the spot, I think you’ll find. Hope you find one.

Good morning from s somerset, sunny with clouds today, nice

I blew cobwebs away yesterday, on my road bike, no hesitation, lycra on and off I went. Pottering followed after my shower, hanging washing, made coffee, picking more gooseberries, making ham and pea soup for three portions

Watching home fires on youtube is good, a nice hour while topping and tailing my gooseberries

Today I will be driving my car to be washed, an 18 miles round trip. I might go to my plot on my bike and might get on with sewing pieces I have already cut out. Nothing is set in stone these days

Have a good day

You make my head spin! I so wish I could have half your energy, especially as, until I got my tumour, I was very like you. I still can do lots of things but do have to pace myself more. I think the rot set in when my lovely husband died five years ago. Somehow things don’t have the same attraction without him. That said, I have an amazing family and am basically happy. I just want my mojo back!
Thanks for the reminder about Home Fires. I loved it but had forgotten about it, so will have to look it up.
Make the most of your energy and zest for life. You never know what’s around the corner, but hopefully it’s something nice!

Had a practioner nurse appointment and have a referral to ENT

She said if nosebleed occurs for 20 minutes then get to a and e

I hope I don`t sneeze. BP was sky high as I had 10 minutes to get there and legged it. That is going down now. Was scary, all this going on by yourself is scary. Its hard to ring anyone or use laptop when you are holding cold compress on your nose

Good morning from a warm and cloudy and breezy East Midlands.

I’ve made a couple of items for charity.
Love and hugs to all who are suffering.

Karma I hope you are ok now

I had to phone surgery this morning, sudden one sided nosebleed reminded me of the unstoppable bleeding 20 years ago when I had an ambulance. I think from a small bleeding polyp

Never had to use doc for many years, suddenly this and was fumbling trying to learn how to use anima. I stopped the bleeding but blooming scary. I put a purse and chargers and keys in my bag on the table. Am dressed and waiting, will they get back to me and when?

If it starts again I may have to use 111. Told one dd but not the other who is in her own trauma

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. It was foggy at 7am but all clear now.

It drizzled all day yesterday and was quite windy, so we didn’t venture out. Lots of stretches, squats and steps indoors instead.

flowers Bellasnanna and Marydoll.

Well done on the GP appointment GrandMattie, persistence paid off.

Great news about the holiday Grandmabatty.

Another successful GP appointment for Grammaretto, are people finally starting to listen to us?

Hope your DD is soon on the mend Gingster and your DH’s therapist visits are productive. I still haven’t heard from the community physio team since my discharge from hospital.

As always, my thoughts are with those under the weather or dealing with sorrow in their lives.

I hope today is a better day for us all ♥️

A lovely day promised with oldies’ coffee morning the only fixture. Yesterday was busy with U3A book group, fourteen solar panels installed and connected and visit from plumbing foreman to agree that my new kitchen tap is wrong and will be replaced and installed correctly. Definitely a day of progress, though I need instructions about the solar system in writing, but my electricity bill should be more or less covered for much of the year. We’ll see.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 30-May-25 08:52:13

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Another sunny day with showers forecast.

Very pleased for you Grandmabatty 😀 It's going to be such a special holiday.

My friend won an award at last night's ceremony. Bittersweet as ofcourse she died some weeks ago. When I phoned her DD, she told me that her DS (the DGS) had just been awarded a First class degree. My friend would have been so proud.

I phoned my doctor yesterday and it was amazing! A list of recorded suggestions but then I was 1st in the queue to speak to reception and have a F2F appointment on Monday first
thing!

Maybe cos I'm old

My volunteer shift today and I have asked my helper/guest to fix up my bike to make it roadworthy by Tuesday. I washed it yesterday.

Hoping everyone has a happy day.

Blue, if you got to Claire’s Accessories, you can buy (expensive) little plastic tubes to stop earrings falling off. I use them constantly and only lose earrings if I forget to put them on.

Grandmabatty Fri 30-May-25 08:28:07

GrandMattie good news!

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, going to be fine all day.

Yesterday was also warm, but quite windy, and I got three loads of washing washed, dried, and put away.
Spent most of the afternoon getting stuck into our new book club read, but it is based around the illegal practice of FGM in an ethnic community, so may be quite.depressing.

Off into town today - two tasks to attend to - the jewellers to see what can be done about the ear-rings the family gave me for my birthday; the butterfly fastenings are very loose and keep falling off, so I am too scared to wear them; then the opticians to see if there is any hope for my prescription sunglasses which were badly scratched on holiday. I have set in motion a claim on my holiday insurance and they want various bits.of information from the optician. If it all gets too complicated I may give up - apparently I am only entitled to half the value anyway.
Then a visit to M&S Food and Sainsbury's on the way home.

grandMattie good luck! Our surgery is the same - the 8am phone scramble.... They do not allow on-line booking as they say it is not fair to those patients who have no on-line access. When we lived in Australia I could always see a doctor of my choice on the same day.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Yippee. Got an appointment for Wednesday.
I was cut off on both my mobile and landline. Called back and, blow me, the call was answered almost immediately.
Pick me off the floor, please?

GrannyGravy13 Fri 30-May-25 08:11:43

Good morning from an overcast corner of S E Essex.

I have The Imp today, nothing planned will see what he fancies doing.

Yesterday’s trip to IKEA had me buying things I didn’t know I needed along with photo frames that I went for. I also bought some wide legged jeans in Lakeside after lunch, not my usual style, but will see how I get on.

DH and I will go to our local Indian restaurant this evening, I fancy something hot and spicy.

Take care folks 🙋‍♀️

Good Morning from Durham. Plenty of overnight rain, but fine now. The garden awaits some attention - just pots and tubs - a man sees to the rest. We are obviously so far behind up here, plenty of rose buds, but not a single flower yet.
A growing list of GNs facing an uphill struggle today - thinking of you.

Best wishes to all. X

Susan56 Fri 30-May-25 08:07:39

Grandmabatty such good news that your son is joining you all on holiday☺️

grandMattie Fri 30-May-25 08:04:09

No. 9 in the queue, after over 3 minutes of —crap— rubbish information… sigh!😞

Good morning from the Algarve where the weather will be 30 degrees today. We are off out to a water park with animals and various other activities. The highlight for us will be seeing the dolphins.

Thinking of those that are struggling and hope today is a good day for all.
