Good morning from a brightening northwest coast.
Very proud to see DGD and DS playing together in the city, he on bass guitar and she on vocals. I liked the confident way she chatted to the audience, that can often be harder than singing the songs. I went in by train and some of the sights on a Saturday night beggar belief, but amusing to see. One train cancelled coming back, but I had my kindle on my phone and a paperback Joyce Grenfell to keep me amused.

Quiet day today and no run round the block, might swap it for a leisurely stroll into the sand dunes.

Good morning from a sunny but blustery NE.
DS and family travelled home from Ireland yesterday after a most interesting week, I won't see them for another week or so but look forward to hearing all about the trip.
My sister and BIL are still in Scotland and my friend is going to Paris with her sisters tomorrow.
Dinner today will be something from the freezer, don't have any fresh vegetables, only salad but that is fine.

Second dd has a very tricky and strenuous mountain bike race today in the new forest, she has done 3 iron man triathlons and several ultra runs. I am anxious each and every time.

Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire. No sign of flaming June here as yet.

It’s warm here and if it stays dry we may be able to go for a walk later. Yesterday I was really struggling with fatigue and it was very windy outside so decided a walk was not the best idea. I cleaned the en-suite shower room, MrB did the laundry. Then he went for a motorbike ride and I folded and tidied away the clean bedding and towels and sorted out the cupboard. A job well done.

As always, my thoughts are with those under the weather or dealing with sorrow in their lives.

Good. Or ing, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in South Yorkshire. I am late today as I had a very sleepless night. Can’t think why as I was busy yesterday and tired in the evening. I cut the front lawn and the little box hedge and weeded and tidied the front rockery which is an absolute pain but it looks lovely when it’s done. I get a lot of compliments from passers-by. There is always a price to pay for all the bending, stretching and working on my knees and it took its toll. Not sure what today will bring. I will let the day unfold. Maybe a walk around the top of the valley later.

Morning, a watery sun and slightly cooler, yesterday was humid at 23.5, garden work limited to the morning, with watering last night.
I saw the news too Mick hope your family are safe. Great picture Susan enjoy your Anglesey trip, I’ll wave to you kitty on your way to the IoW.
As it’s cooler I can resume weeding, I’m gagging to lift some new potatoes and garlic - planted in the autumn, patience is not a strength of mine!

Good morning from a bright, but increasingly cloudy Black Country.

Yesterday decided to clean the windows downstairs, both outside and inside, and then clean all the upvc surrounds. They were absolutely filthy! Upstairs I will tackle sometime in the coming week.

So sorry your DGD is in hospital Sar it is such a worry for you all. Hoping she is well soon.

Enjoy your last day in the Algarve GrannyIvy. We are going a week today. First to Lagos then Albufeira. Must start thinking about sorting clothes to take.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders on this first day of flaming June. It rained all night but just cool and damp now.

It turned out sunny and windy for Gala day yesterday. It was my 45th year of watching the rideout. There seemed to be more horses than ever but fewer floats. The usual bands and pipers.

Today is Quaker meeting followed by soup so I must make it. I think I'll light the fire too. It can get chilly.

Good morning from a sunny N. Bucks. We are now home from a lovely week in Shropshire. It seems very quiet without all the family milling around.
Today we must pop down to stock up the fridge and have a tidy up in the garden. A friend did a very good watering job whilst we were away and everything is growing well.
DD2 will be round later with the contents of her freezer so must find room for that.. Her kitchen will be ripped out this week.
Thinking of those with worries a or illness and wishing all a good day.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton, a bit cloudier today.

Yesterday was lovely at Rushden Lakes, and it was lovely looking out over the lake while I had my lunch and 🍷!
I managed a bit of shopping, two lovely.handbags I spied in Accessorize which I thought would make good Christmas (!) presents for DD and DD-out-law. Also a couple of nice tops in FatFace (for me). Then had no problem spending a £30 voucher in M&S.

The only plan for today is to cut the back grass, after a breakfast sausage butty.

Looking forward to a pleasant day in the sunshine, and wishing all the same

How talented you are, GM. Years ago, I had a notion for trying patchwork, but I had neither the patience, nor ability. At school, the nuns were always having me rip out my sewing.

I yearn for a quiet day , but I'm off to church. I will not be attending either of the morning Masses. I need to catch up on all the things, which are overwhelming me. Also, we need to move the copious amounts of alcohol donations from the church to the parish hall. People and local businesses have been so generous.
We are hoping to make at least £10,000 from the fête for our restoration fund.

It is becoming obvious that I am struggling and not as sharp as I was and I am embarrassed by my lack of stamina To those, who do not know me and think I look so well, it looks as if I am not pulling my weight.
I have swallowed my pride ( isn't that a deadly sin?) and consequently a group of parishioners are coming to help. I shall take on the role of supervisor

Morning Mick, morning All from a bright, windy corner of Somerset.

Yesterday flew past. Enjoyed a short walk and a very long sit by the sea wall with coffee in the morning. Sitting there listening to the waves always reminds us of happy cruise hours on the balcony. The sound is much the same.

The forsythia had its hair cut in the afternoon. Like most it will look better in a week or so. 😂. Out came the mini tower, up I went and had a thoroughly good time. Our neighbour helpfully assisted by pushing branches towards me to save me reaching over. Made it much easier than usual. We thought Mr C had the worst job as he was clearing up. The new rose was settled in its tub and found a spot to one side of a seating area. As there’s an empty matching tub looking for a lodger I thought it an excellent idea to find another rose to balance it out. Mr C sighed a lot when I pointed it out, can’t think why.

Quiet one today. Some admin and a trip out to return the trousers I collected yesterday, much too big on the waist. I’ve ordered two sizes of a different style, maybe second or third time lucky

Good morning from sunny Wiltshire (for now, anyway)

Went round to see DD2 and her family yesterday. Their holiday in Lanzarote was rather mixed. They specifically chose the hotel as they’d said they would cater for her severe nut allergies (neither of the children have any allergies). On 4 occasions she was given food containing nuts including a potato and spinach item which had pistachios in it. One bite and the meals were ruined as her blood pressure falls and her tongue and throat start to swell. She narrowly avoided using her epipen as she has high strength tablets to abate attacks. They admitted they had no idea what was in most items as many were made off site. I think this will put them off travelling abroad now.

I had no idea we had Discovery+ included in our BT phone contract so I was able to watch tennis at the French Open and saw both matches with 3 Brits playing. 2 have gone through to the 4th round. The Draper v Fonseca March was great but the Norrie v Fearnly match was marred by continuous fireworks being let off nearby Roland Garros prior to the big football match which wasn’t even being played in France.

Good morning from a very warm day on the Essex coast.
DH is off to Wembley today with a big group of Southend fans to watch the play off final. I will be dropping them off at the station later.
I am going for a glass of something cold and fizzy with some other 'abandoned' wives at our local hotel.
I don't expect them back until late either full of joy or having drowned their sorrows.
I love the quilt GM, you are one busy talented lady.
I heard yesterday that S had been admitted to hospital again overnight and was now full of steroids. I hope she stays well for the next two weeks of GCSE'S.
I am going to stay with them on Wednesday so can give my support.

I too got a lot of washing line dried - winter cushion covers, throws and dog blankets . All dry and smelling lovely.
I Ve put the summer covers on and everything looks brighter .

I popped over to see Dd but she’d taken DGD to the cinema as she had promised her. Hopefully she’s feeling better. They might come over for dinner 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Dh mowed the lawn and watered the garden and pots. It’s a tiny plot but he did very well and was pleased with himself. 👍.

I went to DS1’s to get my parcel label printed and sent back. Him and his wife are such a great couple, I don’t know what I’d do without them. Nothings a problem and they each have their different strengths . Such a great support for us.,💕.

Good Morning from Durham, it’s a glorious, still start with blue sky and brilliant sunshine.
Yesterday proved a trial for a friend and DD2 with both having punctures. Helped the friend, but later, DD2, stuck on the A69 had to resort to her breakdown cover - the tyre was only fitted last Tuesday. She’ll organise for a mobile unit to fit another.
I’ve more petunias to plant and still sorting out tops and Tshirts. Over 20 gone so far, but the wardrobe still looks the same - they must be breeding!

Good morning from mid Essex. It’s bright and dry again. Yesterday was warm and mostly sunny, I pottered about in the garden most of the day, transplanting lettuce seedlings and sorting out big pots ready to transplant the tomato plants today. DD2 came in for an hour and cut back yet more encroaching brambles from next door’s garden. Gradually winning the battle!
More gardening today and hopefully DD1 will call in too.
karma I’m in a constant battle with bindweed, particularly in the front garden, where it’s tangled up with shrubs and flowering plants and difficult to remove.

Today is Rogation Sunday when the crop are blessed so our group service will take place in a local farmyard with interested cows looking on - always a lovely experience and a reminder of how important farming is.

No other plans but the Sunday paper and a rummage in the freezer for something to eat will both feature.

Good morning frim the Algarve. All is quiet DD2 and the little ones (after a late night) are still sleeping. Our last full day as we return home tmrw ready for school on Tuesday. It will be good to return home and tend my garden. DH is looking forward to his bowls.
