Good morning Mick and all to follow from Shropshire.A day of sunshine and showers forecast.

Worrying news Mick.I hope your niece and family are ok.

We had a lovely time at DD’s yesterday for DH’s birthday. We had a barbecue and DD had also made her speciality chocolate cake which is DH’s favourite cake.He says thank you for all the birthday wishes.

I have attached a cartoon of DH and I with the grandchildren!

Today we are driving up to Anglesey for the day hence the early start.Speaking to my cousin the other day reminded me of my summers spent there at my grandma’s holiday cottage so a day of reminiscing ahead.

Thinking of all with mountains to climb🙏🏻

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

White rabbits 🐇🐇🐇. A brand new month! I wonder what it holds for us.
Good morning from a bright Bristol. No rain on the horizon; I watered my little flower bed yesterday morning.
The coffee and chat in church was unexpectedly busy; there were about 20 attending. The noise level was high; we shut up shop at midday and left a few still chatting!
I spent the afternoon finishing making the patchwork squares, I laid them on the floor to make a pleasant mixture of colours. I now need to back, quilt and assemble them. Still a lot of work involved.
Church this morning. If the wind dies down, I’ll sit outside in the sun.
Have a blessed Sunday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where it’s expected to reach 31°C today.

I got through my chores yesterday and am now aching all over but glad I managed to catch up. I never feel up to doing much after I’ve been with the boys so the weekend is always busy.

Love the cartoon, Susan and hope you have a good time in Anglesey.

Beautiful quilt grandMattie, you are so talented.

Worrying news for you Mick, I hope your family will be safe.

I’m off to meet a pal for coffee before Mass after which a chat with my friend in Leicester before settling down to watch tennis. It’s getting to the more exciting stage of the tournament now.

I hope the day is kind to you all.☀️

karmalady Sun 01-Jun-25 06:03:53

Good morning from s somerset, bright and breezy today

I enjoyed my plot visit yesterday, the cycle ride to the plot and the chat with two older horse riders. At times I would love to be doing that hacking again but not at my age. Lots of bindweed popped up on the plot but my hori hori is dealing with their roots and they are easy to recognise.

The 50+ perennial plants I grew and popped in are already flowering and getting established and were buzzing with bumble bees. I won`t need to use animal manure from now, these plants are better, more nutritious for the plot

I did just a bit of sewing, I find an hour or thereabouts gets the project finished. I also downloaded a pattern for a pair of pants in short sizing, toile for them next

My dd will soon finish her cross-country run, 86 hilly miles, 200 runners and 1/3 have retired. She will have seen the sunrise over Lambourne downs

Today I will carry on tracking dd to the finish line and then go out for an about town walk, I am not fond of strong wind gusts when I am cycling and dislike strong head winds. A walk will do me fine

Have a good day

Pantglas2 Sun 01-Jun-25 06:14:39

Good morning all from an another dry and bright day on the north Wales coast although some showers may appear later - sorry Susan! Hope you still manage to enjoy lovely Ynys Mon, I’ll wave as you pass 👋

Marvellous handiwork grandMattie and your eye for colour is brilliant too 👏

Another quiet day at PG Towers with 4hrs free electricity this morning being the highlight…I’ll be a dervish doing the laundry and cooking Mexican Chicken for lunch before collapsing in a heap in the summerhouse with my latest novel and a pot of tea this afternoon 🤗

Thoughts with all having troubles, may they be eased soon x

Kalu Sun 01-Jun-25 06:16:39

Good morning all. Another wet day ahead in Glasgow.
It also feels chilly this morning.

Nothing planned for today, I may go out or alternatively, an at home day settling down to watch a film, read or I have some embroidery to finish. A day of going with the flow, never boring as something always turns up.

I hope your family are safe Mick
Another beautiful quilt GM

Best wishes to all for a smooth, trouble free Sunday.

RosesandLilac Sun 01-Jun-25 06:19:02

Good morning from south Glos, another lovely day ahead.

grandMattie I absolutely lock the quilt, you really are very talented.
Karmalady was that along the Ridgeway? I’ve walked parts of it and there’s beautiful scenery but I doubt you take much notice of it if you’re running.

Yesterday was pretty routine, suits me fine, started with a pleasant dog walk. I got all the throws and dog towels washed and dried, I do get great satisfaction from line drying anything! Simple pleasures all round here.

Today will be more of the same 🌹

karmalady Sun 01-Jun-25 06:42:24

Yes the Ridgeway, Roses, the sunrise will have inspired her to keep going. BTW they don`t get their athleticism from me, just the tenacity.

Second dd has a very tricky and strenuous mountain bike race today in the new forest, she has done 3 iron man triathlons and several ultra runs. I am anxious each and every time.

Allsorts Sun 01-Jun-25 06:43:53

Good morning from the sunny Midands, as usual a day on my home, potter about the garden, then a lovely roast meal and sit in the garden with the newspaper and a glass of wine. It's a hard life but I won't weaken.

Grandmabatty Sun 01-Jun-25 06:51:45

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11°, breezy and bright. Karma your daughters must be very fit. GrandMattie that mix of colours look lovely. Mick I hope your niece and family escape any wild fires. So scary.
Yesterday I made myself do my usual Saturday housework and washing. Then I washed all the windows and glassware too. I was quite tired but glad to get back to a routine.
Today I will wash my dressing gown and hopefully hang it out for an airing. I want to start tidying the boys room and get rid of toys they no longer play with. And wash my kitchen cupboard doors! I have no plans and will do a bit at a time. Chicken and leek pie for dinner. Have a good day all.

Ashcombe Sun 01-Jun-25 06:59:37

Good morning from a fine but breezy Torbay.

I can understand your concern for your niece and family, Mick.
Another lovely quilt, grandMattie!
I hope you enjoy Anglesey, Susan - somewhere I've never visited.

The annual airshow is on this weekend, with Paignton having the best view of it. After church, I'm meeting a friend from Toads for lunch on the front at Torquay so we might see some of the planes.

Wishing everyone a blessed Sunday.

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday was fun although the weather was very changeable. We all carried on with crocheting our Christmas squares on both ferry journeys. The ferries were jam packed as there was a Pride march taking place in Brodick.

After Mass we will be heading to Edinburgh. DH and DS have a climbing frame to build and as DDoutL is flying south for a family funeral we will stay over to help with the school runs tomorrow.

Have the best day possible everyone.

brook2704 Sun 01-Jun-25 07:13:31

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Inverness
Hoping everyone is safe Mick
Yesterday turned out to be quite busy, mainly helping DD2 with a few jobs at her new house. More of the same this morning, including DH mowing the grass and building some flat packed furniture for the children’s bedrooms. I’ll be making the cups of tea and supplying biscuits amongst other things
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

kittylester Sun 01-Jun-25 07:25:58

Good morning from a bullish Hemel Hempstead.

DGD2 was wonderful in Peter Pan - well we thought so. She was singing and dancing in the chorus. We had a lovely meal and a tour of DD2's part renovated house. It's a long job but will be lovely when it's finished.

Today we continue our journey south to the Isle of Wight for a few days.

luluaugust Sun 01-Jun-25 07:26:14

Good morning from an overcast W Kent. Yesterday’s day out with DS and DIL went really well. I hadn’t been to Folkestone for many years and it has changed a lot and for the better.
Today we are doing almost nothing while our old bones try to recover
Hope your family are safe Mick
Beautiful quilt gM

GrannyGravy13 Sun 01-Jun-25 07:38:09

Morning everyone from an overcast warm S E Essex.

I hope your family are safe in Canada Mick

Well done to your DDs karmalady

Lovely quilt grandMattie I think it’s my favourite of all these ones you have posted.

Brilliant cartoon Susam56

Today is the day that I must sort my clothes out and begin putting some in a suitcase. The next couple of days are really busy, my only free time is today!

DS3 DiL and one GS are off to Wembley to see our local team in the play-offs today. GS is so excited as he is a season ticket holder and loves football 🤞🏻. The other GS will enjoy a peaceful day at home, he dislikes football and big crowds.

Meteorological summer is here 🐇🐇🐇, let’s hope it’s a good one this year 🌞🌞🌞

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday 🙋‍♀️

GrannyIvy Sun 01-Jun-25 07:45:09

Good morning frim the Algarve. All is quiet DD2 and the little ones (after a late night) are still sleeping. Our last full day as we return home tmrw ready for school on Tuesday. It will be good to return home and tend my garden. DH is looking forward to his bowls.

Have a good day. Thinking of those for whom life is not very easy at the moment 💐

GrannySomerset Sun 01-Jun-25 07:47:33

Today is Rogation Sunday when the crop are blessed so our group service will take place in a local farmyard with interested cows looking on - always a lovely experience and a reminder of how important farming is.

No other plans but the Sunday paper and a rummage in the freezer for something to eat will both feature.

Redcar Sun 01-Jun-25 07:52:18

Good morning from mid Essex. It’s bright and dry again. Yesterday was warm and mostly sunny, I pottered about in the garden most of the day, transplanting lettuce seedlings and sorting out big pots ready to transplant the tomato plants today. DD2 came in for an hour and cut back yet more encroaching brambles from next door’s garden. Gradually winning the battle!
More gardening today and hopefully DD1 will call in too.
karma I’m in a constant battle with bindweed, particularly in the front garden, where it’s tangled up with shrubs and flowering plants and difficult to remove.
Have a good day visiting Anglesey susan. I hope you enjoy your few days on the Isle of Wight kitty.

Have the best day possible - June already!

Georgesgran Sun 01-Jun-25 07:57:32

Good Morning from Durham, it’s a glorious, still start with blue sky and brilliant sunshine.
Yesterday proved a trial for a friend and DD2 with both having punctures. Helped the friend, but later, DD2, stuck on the A69 had to resort to her breakdown cover - the tyre was only fitted last Tuesday. She’ll organise for a mobile unit to fit another.
I’ve more petunias to plant and still sorting out tops and Tshirts. Over 20 gone so far, but the wardrobe still looks the same - they must be breeding!

Best wishes to all. X

Gingster Sun 01-Jun-25 07:58:34

Good morning all. Very still out there.

I too got a lot of washing line dried - winter cushion covers, throws and dog blankets . All dry and smelling lovely.
I Ve put the summer covers on and everything looks brighter .

I popped over to see Dd but she’d taken DGD to the cinema as she had promised her. Hopefully she’s feeling better. They might come over for dinner 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Dh mowed the lawn and watered the garden and pots. It’s a tiny plot but he did very well and was pleased with himself. 👍.

I went to DS1’s to get my parcel label printed and sent back. Him and his wife are such a great couple, I don’t know what I’d do without them. Nothings a problem and they each have their different strengths . Such a great support for us.,💕.

I love that cartoon Susan
Another great quilt GM
Your girls are certainly strong and determined Karma . You obviously set a good example. 🏃🏻‍♀️🚴‍♀️.

Enjoy your day.🪴🌼

Sar53 Sun 01-Jun-25 08:10:36

Good morning from a very warm day on the Essex coast.
DH is off to Wembley today with a big group of Southend fans to watch the play off final. I will be dropping them off at the station later.
I am going for a glass of something cold and fizzy with some other 'abandoned' wives at our local hotel.
I don't expect them back until late either full of joy or having drowned their sorrows.
I love the quilt GM, you are one busy talented lady.
I heard yesterday that S had been admitted to hospital again overnight and was now full of steroids. I hope she stays well for the next two weeks of GCSE'S.
I am going to stay with them on Wednesday so can give my support.
Enjoy Sunday everyone, best wishes to all xx

glammagran Sun 01-Jun-25 08:11:53

Good morning from sunny Wiltshire (for now, anyway)

Went round to see DD2 and her family yesterday. Their holiday in Lanzarote was rather mixed. They specifically chose the hotel as they’d said they would cater for her severe nut allergies (neither of the children have any allergies). On 4 occasions she was given food containing nuts including a potato and spinach item which had pistachios in it. One bite and the meals were ruined as her blood pressure falls and her tongue and throat start to swell. She narrowly avoided using her epipen as she has high strength tablets to abate attacks. They admitted they had no idea what was in most items as many were made off site. I think this will put them off travelling abroad now.

I had no idea we had Discovery+ included in our BT phone contract so I was able to watch tennis at the French Open and saw both matches with 3 Brits playing. 2 have gone through to the 4th round. The Draper v Fonseca March was great but the Norrie v Fearnly match was marred by continuous fireworks being let off nearby Roland Garros prior to the big football match which wasn’t even being played in France.

Susan56 I loved the cartoon drawing of you all. Who drew it?
Have a good Sunday everyone.

cornergran Sun 01-Jun-25 08:13:02

Morning Mick, morning All from a bright, windy corner of Somerset.

Yesterday flew past. Enjoyed a short walk and a very long sit by the sea wall with coffee in the morning. Sitting there listening to the waves always reminds us of happy cruise hours on the balcony. The sound is much the same.

The forsythia had its hair cut in the afternoon. Like most it will look better in a week or so. 😂. Out came the mini tower, up I went and had a thoroughly good time. Our neighbour helpfully assisted by pushing branches towards me to save me reaching over. Made it much easier than usual. We thought Mr C had the worst job as he was clearing up. The new rose was settled in its tub and found a spot to one side of a seating area. As there’s an empty matching tub looking for a lodger I thought it an excellent idea to find another rose to balance it out. Mr C sighed a lot when I pointed it out, can’t think why.

Quiet one today. Some admin and a trip out to return the trousers I collected yesterday, much too big on the waist. I’ve ordered two sizes of a different style, maybe second or third time lucky

Hope your family stay safe Mick and your active daughters succeed karma. Love the cartoon susan, another beautiful quilt grandmattie. I’m sure you’ll have it finished soon.

Best be off, been sidetracked by trying to re-set our security camera. So far an abject failure. I’m sure there will be new posts to read by now.

Have the best day you can everyone.
