Good morning all - and I hope your colonoscopy goes well Mick.
I haven't posted for a while because my posts of non-events were boring even me because really there's not been a lot to say. However I have been reading and enjoying, so thought it was about time I contributed!
I'm still concerned about the prolonged absence of Madeleine - such a stoic, gritty lady.
Cornergran I have never heard of Chi me so I googled it. It seems very calming and will certainly give your body a good, gentle workout.
Life for me has plodded on. We haven't had the heat part of the heatwave on the Angus coast but we haven't escaped the wind! Or the rain in the past couple of days. But today is lovely, if a tad windy still.
My lovely niece was in hospital a couple of weeks ago with diverticulitis and now has a couple of A4 sheets of 'things you must not eat - ever'. I think she's rather in shock by the suddenness of it all, poor girl - I know I am! Though they'd miss the Hollywood lifestyle, her daughter and family in LA are thinking of re-locating to London. How things change in the blink of an eye.
I had lunch in Perth with DD and Newman this past week. They're back down in Notts again now, but had been working from home at DD's the previous week, catching up with the girls. Dancing (no longer!) DGD is very happily settled in into her new job as 'front of house' in a boutique hotel in the Highlands. Her younger sister has emerged from her 2nd year in uni with a pocketful of 'B's and an 'A', so a happy young lady there as well.
DGS1, who was diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukaemia at the end of last year has emerged from treatment successfully and is now back at work, as of today. All has gone as the oncologist said confidently that it would. Tentative sighs of relief all round.
And me? Same old same old - tai chi, shopping and housework, in that order of boredom enthusiasm 😉. And so grateful for each day of good health as I traverse my 80s.

Yesterday we cobbled together a cage for the strawberries, it’s a tiny bit of the ew raised bed, I think we will rethink it . The cage seems to work , no berries were pinched since it went up

We decided to give our afternoon walk a miss, as the wind was just too strong for comfort. MrB has a cardio vascular appointment this morning so I must dash. After that we’ll see.

Quiet day yesterday after a rather busy period which seems to have taken it out of me. I don’t have the energy of yore sadly.
Caught up with telephone calls and arranged birthday vouchers and flowers for my sister in the south’s birthday. A bit bothered about the cavity from the troublesome tooth/abscess extraction not so long ago, but hopefully it’s just the fact I keep poking my tongue in it that’s making me notice it.

More phone calls today, a little exercise and a sing through songs for Tuesday music club.

Monday walking group this morning. Then home for a quick lunch, then back out for Line Dancing, without my friend as she is on a Cruise at the moment.

Morning Mick, morning All from a calm, sunny corner of Somerset.

Yesterdays weather can be summed up as foul, so windy with brief showers. An indoor day for us. I was seriously bogged down in some financial admin, why are things that should be so easy more than difficult in the reality.

I’ll carry on clearing the admin decks this morning, a list of irritations. Mr C has promised to clear some of the ironing. We’re off to a new to us class this afternoon, Chi-Me. We’ve missed the TaiChi sessions and hope this 6 session course will help fill the gap while we continue to search for an accessible TaiChi group.

Hope all goes well for your husband on Thursday gingster. Thoughts are with everyone facing challenges.

Morning from Connel, just about to get up and get ready to head home this morning after an enjoyable weekend with the family here although without DGS who was in Toulouse with his school. I did miss seeing him.

The weather has been mixed but has allowed a couple of walks over my favourite bridge and the sight of a lovely visitor to the bottom of the garden on Saturday evening which I have attached (hopefully!)

Going over to visit DSIL*s parents after breakfast and the bus to Glasgow which will probably be quite busy judging by the one on Friday.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 8°C. Here we are in June and the weather is rotten.

Yesterday was full on. I was so surprised when I could get parked at church, we have two large car parks and they are always full.
The original plan was that I would park behind the parish house, because I planned to come down after the start of Mass.and the young sacristan would let me in the
back door, to save me having to walk.
He is a very thoughtful young man man.

As always, things did not quite go as plan. I had emailed paperwork to the parish account, so that I could print in A3 from the photocopier. Not matter what I did, it wouldn't work. I tried everything, but no joy.

I then realised that the P,P had been printing copious amounts, but the copier had run out of paper. Still no joy, when I filled the tray, I was flummoxed and becoming really frustrated. Time was of the essence!
The young sacristan came looking for me, because I was away for so long.
We eventually discovered baptismal forms jammed inside it, not one but a few. Consequently, we had to strip it down.
The Deacon had obviously left the jam, without saying to anyone 🤬
Once we cleared the jams, everything which had been stacked up, came pouring out. A hour later, I was still waiting to get my own materials copied. There was so much of it.. Grrr!.

Just as I was organising the removal of their alchol donations, a parishioner came and said the P,P had sent her to talk to me, about obtaing a Disclosure.
This must have been the most obstructive and difficult parishioner, I have ever come across. This parishioner had their own take on things and was refusing to follow protocols.
This was a red flag.
They hadn't reckoned on how rigorous I am, Safeguarding is paramount, as far as I am concerned..

Meanwhile, everyone was waiting for me, to store the alcohol. (I never had to lift a single bottle, I'm learning.) I went for the key and could not find it. We looked everywhere, but it was nowhere to be found.. I went to the Parish Hall to find the cupboard open and a strange man, (I mean strange in its real meaning) holding the key. Oh the P,P, gave it to me. he said, when I challenged him.
This man, whom none of us have seen before, has suddenly been given access to certain financial areas and trusted parishioners ignored. Our new P,P is too trusting and many are concerned.
How I longed for a quiet day, my impossible dream.😉

On the way home, I had to drop something off at my son's next door neighbour and had planned to pop in to see Dollie.
DD's mother's car was parked outside, so I decided it would be prudent to drive away and not intrude.
I messaged later and my son said they had not seen her for ages, despite her living less than ten minutes away.
I feel sad for Dollie, who can't understand why granny has little time for her, but spends plenty of time with her cousins.

DH is golfing and I am glad of the empty, it is so peaceful. 😉
Today is the day, I organise the money for the counters and I also need to finish off the alterations for DD.

I hope all the poorlies are improving and those, who are sad, have a lighter heart.💐

Good morning from a cloudy but dry NE.
It is eight days since I spoke to anyone, if the wind would just drop I could perhaps walk round the block.
I sent a message to DIL because I hadn't heard from them since returning home, she says she picked up a nasty virus on holiday.
GD2 will be back to school today so I am guessing DS will have to ðo the school run which is about half an hour.

Glorious morning though not for long if the forecast is right. I have several workmen due so will be in supervisory mode if they all turn up when they say they will - final connection of the solar panels and replacement kitchen tap plus gardener this afternoon.

Ash and grandMattie, inter-regnums (regna?) provide my DB, a retired priest, with plenty of work! He fills in for them and priests' holidays most Sundays. He loves visiting new and varied churches.

Retired priests’ work is much appreciated, especially if they are regular, but it doesn’t beat having your own resident vicar/rector.

Good morning everyone from Inverness, we’ve light grey clouds but feels quite warm
I’m off to the gym today, a couple of classes including Zumba which is good fun, it always makes me feel happier once I start dancing - well sort of dancing! After that I seem to have started this routine of walking back into town by the river, I also enjoy that although it’ll be a different story in the winter

Morning from a sunny S Hants, it’s very still after the wind yesterday, but it’s due back.
Back on the voluntary phone today after the BH off last week, I must book a lunch table for Wednesday, a friends birthday, hair trim for me and ring the hotel we’re off to in a few weeks.

Good morning all. A perfect sunny morning in Glasgow, calm and dry.

As I was requested to scan a few documents, I discovered I could do so via my Notes app. Another learning curve as DH did such tasks. I haven’t looked at the weather forecast which will determine what I will do indoors/outdoors. Waitrose is a must though where I will meet up with my cousin for an after shop coffee reward.
