Good Morning Everyone,
A nice bright sunny start to the day here in brackley this morning.
The usual routine today with a bus trip to Bicester , shop and chat to those I know.
Health wise ,I have to cut back on things as on Wednesday I have a CT scan which is a Colonography , so cut backs to more liquid than solid food , otherwise OK.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Malta where it’s already 19°C and will rise to 30°C.

I’m off to watch the boys as usual. They have nursery this afternoon so I will be dashing home to watch tennis.

Feel as if I’m getting a cold (sore throat and sneezing) which is annoying.

Glad to hear you are having a check up Mick. Hope all will go well.

Thinking of you all and hoping for a good day for you.☀️

Good Morning from Durham. It’s cool, cloudy and windy here. I’m determined to stay in bed longer, rather than get up too early, so I’ll come back and read all the posts later.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee at 10.30 and then buy my June birthday cards.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and blue skies and sunny. There's some clouds about. Mick hope your checkup goes well. Bellasnana summer colds are horrible. My sympathy.
Yesterday was busier than expected. In the afternoon, dd called in with the boys and towels to put in my tumble dryer. She nipped to Aldi while I watched the boys. Both boys are into drawing just now so the pens and paper came out. Dgs2 also is practising using scissors, so there were lots of little bits of paper about. I supervise him carefully but it's a good skill for a wee one to learn. My foot pain subsided a bit but I didn't have a great sleep last night.
Today I'm back to early childcare day. Then I'm going to the school library for an hour. Later, after I've picked up the boys, I need to take dgs1 to his football training. His dad will pick him up. A busy day ahead. Have a good day all

Good morning from a calm, sunny Torbay with a clear blue sky at the moment.

Our church service was slightly chaotic as the organist arrived late then played the wrong tune for the first hymn. We are still without a parish priest and several of us are finding it disheartening. Being part of a team ministry lacks the very special personal touch to which we had become accustomed.

I enjoyed lunch with my friend and catching up on her news but the meal and service were rather average. Torquay was busy due to the airshow with the buses being fuller than on a weekday!

Have a good week, everyone and I was pleased to read of the progress made by the DH of Gingster.

Good morning from Bristol. It’s sunny and the wind seems to have died down. Bellasnana, our maximum is forecast to be 19C today…
I have just woken up after a night beset with the oddest dreams, the last one involved going to a party for someone I didn’t know involving climbing over walls and through chicken coops and Rottweiler kennels!
Quiet day yesterday, ditto today; getting on well with the patchwork. I love that pattern, it’s called “friendship star”.
MD, I’m glad you are starting to let go of things and supervising rather than doing. Well done. 👏
Have a good day all. Carpe diem.

grandMattie Mon 02-Jun-25 06:03:36

Oh, Ash, interregnums are so difficult. I hope it doesn’t last too long.

Ashcombe Mon 02-Jun-25 06:13:15

Thanks, grandMattie. It’s been 14 months since our beloved priest took early retirement rather suddenly. We were led to believe a replacement would be found rather sooner than this.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Partly cloudy conditions expected today but it’s going to be windy yet again. Yesterday it was blowing hard all and raining on and off until around five thirty when I managed to get out for a pleasant walk. Yesterday was a long and difficult day, but I slept well last night.
Today I shall go to the gym but have absolutely no idea what will happen after that.
Have the best day you can, folks.

ginny Mon 02-Jun-25 06:50:58

Good morning from N. Bucks, I haven’t looked out yet to see what the weather is up to.
Today we shall be attending the funeral of DHs golf pal. You may remember that he died suddenly whilst they were playing golf. So, a sad day.
If there is time later we have a few garden jobs to sort.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

Good morning from a sunny and warm S E Essex.

Busy day today, I want to change the bedding, burglar alarm is being replaced with an updated version, cleaning fairies are here and I aim to get to the gym by 10.30, phew.

This afternoon will spent ironing.

Wishing you a good day.

Sending big (((hugs))) dear pen pal 😘

Good morning, a lovely sunny morning here in south Glos.
Tiddler and I did a 4 mile walk first thing yesterday, seeing hares and roe deer and enjoying the peaceful scenery. I gave her a bath when we got back because she was decidedly grubby.
It was somewhat chilly during the afternoon, luckily we were very comfortable in the Shed and it warmed up by late afternoon for the second dog walk.
Today I will go to the next village and we’ll do the off lead walk for bigger dog, hopefully no rabbits for her to chase (not that she’d ever be fast enough to catch one)
A bit of garden tidying later, I have plants that need tidying up.
Another quiet day, suits me just fine 😊
Wishing you a good day 🌹

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. The cleaner is back today thank goodness she has been to Sorrento on holiday whilst we were in Worcester.
This afternoon we have a U3A Local History group meeting. We are going to an ancient local church where the Vicar’s husband will give us a talk.
Best wishes

Good morning from a sunny Essex.
Yesterday I gardened , weeding mostly and tied a few unruly shrubs .
Dh had the physio who took him for a little walk along the road just with his stick. He’s going to take him fishing on Thursday 😳. Just for a hour to see how he gets on. I’m unsure about this - I don’t think he’s ready. 😬.

DS1 picked his dad up and took him back to watch the Southend match at Wembley on tv. I received updates which looked promising but after extra time the poor Shrimpers lost 2-1. One of the twin gs went to Wembley but the rest of the family watched in on tv.

I had a lovely afternoon to myself. Watched Conclave which I enjoyed, then more declutterring, (mostly DH’s clothes that haven’t seen the light of day for years. ) He’ll never know! 🤐.

I must pop into town today to buy a wedding card and a new home card. Dgd1 is moving house today. She is sharing with her best friend from Uni . I hope they can afford the cost between them. Last year there were 5 of them to share the load.

I hope all are feeling better, happier , more content and can enjoy the day . 🌼

Good morning from s somerset, bright, clouds and sun today

I set a humidifier up in my bedroom last night and set the humidity at 50, it made quite a difference to my comfort. I slept very well

No sewing yesterday just chatting all day and evening with my Dds and Ds and siblings

A relaxing day and I took a different route about town for my walk, yet again having this feeling of walking through in ancient days, I saw different houses, old, several with grand sandstone window surrounds. Some of the big houses are now apartments with high ceilings and old architecture. Lovely and with ambience and old energy

Today I need to top and tail some gooseberries and potter on with some basic cleaning. Craft group too

Have a good day

Good morning from mid Essex, where it’s sunny and a bit cooler this morning. Yesterday was mostly sunny but windy again. I potted up my tomato plants into big pots, but need more compost to do the last one. DD1 and family called in for an hour or so which was good. Unfortunately the dog scratched my arm, and tore a piece of skin off. She only wanted me to make a fuss of her, which I did after I’d put tcp and a plaster on the wound! I’ll keep it covered for a few days and keep an eye on it.
Ironing to do today and may prune the forsythia.
Good to see that your DH is making progress gingster
sar I hope that S is home again now and able to get through her exams this week.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, more of the same forecast today. Up earlier as it's yoga first thing, followed by coffee; a different cafe this week, as our usual one is closed for holidays.

When I get back I need to ring the pharmacy as they have not delivered my medication which I ordered last Wednesday - it usually arrives and is delivered the next day. I have checked with the surgery and they confirmed that the prescription was sent to the pharmacy. I have enough medication left for only one more day....

Yesterday I gave the kitchen and utility room a good clean, then cut the back grass, and cut back the unruly vine which continually threatens to take over the garden. Then after a shower, sat in the garden with the cats.

Some washing to hang out before yoga, and the dishwasher to empty.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning all. A perfect sunny morning in Glasgow, calm and dry.

As I was requested to scan a few documents, I discovered I could do so via my Notes app. Another learning curve as DH did such tasks. I haven’t looked at the weather forecast which will determine what I will do indoors/outdoors. Waitrose is a must though where I will meet up with my cousin for an after shop coffee reward.

Have the best day possible all, hopefully with some sunshine.

Ash and grandMattie, inter-regnums (regna?) provide my DB, a retired priest, with plenty of work! He fills in for them and priests' holidays most Sundays. He loves visiting new and varied churches.

Jaxjacky Mon 02-Jun-25 07:23:14

Morning from a sunny S Hants, it’s very still after the wind yesterday, but it’s due back.
Back on the voluntary phone today after the BH off last week, I must book a lunch table for Wednesday, a friends birthday, hair trim for me and ring the hotel we’re off to in a few weeks.
Have a pleasant day all

Good morning everyone from Inverness, we’ve light grey clouds but feels quite warm
I’m off to the gym today, a couple of classes including Zumba which is good fun, it always makes me feel happier once I start dancing - well sort of dancing! After that I seem to have started this routine of walking back into town by the river, I also enjoy that although it’ll be a different story in the winter
Ginny hope today goes ok 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Retired priests’ work is much appreciated, especially if they are regular, but it doesn’t beat having your own resident vicar/rector.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Usual Monday - cleaner and Waitrose trip.

We had a lovely weekend with our daughter. The impasse between my two sons continues. Life can be so difficult.

Have a good day.

GrannySomerset Mon 02-Jun-25 07:49:33

Glorious morning though not for long if the forecast is right. I have several workmen due so will be in supervisory mode if they all turn up when they say they will - final connection of the solar panels and replacement kitchen tap plus gardener this afternoon.
