Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of 29°C.

I’m up and ready to go to watch the boys but honestly don’t know how I did it as I feel dreadful.

Full of a cold and consequently a lousy night. I wish I could stay in bed but can’t let DD3 down.

Mick that liquid you have to drink is a dye. I’ve had the same procedure. Hope all goes well tomorrow.

Have a good day all. ☀️

Helen321 Tue 03-Jun-25 05:40:30

Good morning! I'm thinking about going back to sleep as I didn't sleep that well, but I have things to do, so this probably isn't happening.

grandMattie Tue 03-Jun-25 05:47:44

Good morning from a grey Bristol. We are having a little rain, more is forecast for the morning.
Yesterday was quiet with sewing and pottering.
A surprise flying visit from SiL, bringing me a lamp from Ikea.
Today, ditto.
Bellasnana, I hope you feel better soon. Colds are horrid, aren’t they?
Have a good day y’all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Pantglas2 Tue 03-Jun-25 05:49:45

Morning Mick and all who follow from a very wet 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 - no doubt the gardens are rejoicing but I can’t get my forest breathing done today 😡 so am snuggled on the settee with my morning constitutional ☕️

After a lovely quiet weekend of walks and wandering around the PG Towers grounds we will have a day out in Llandudno with lunch at our favourite Thai Noodle bar before popping to see The Salt Path in the cinema - it doesn’t get brilliant reviews but I quite like the actors so worth a go 🤗

How lovely for you to visit Caernarfon Susan when the Andalusia sailing ship is in harbour and lovely weather too!

Sorry to read of so many unwell, especially those with stuff to attend to…yes Bellasnana it can’t be easy with lively boys and a stinking cold but a hot toddy 🥃 and early to bed when the handover is done 👍

I’ll bid you all a good day x

Greyduster Tue 03-Jun-25 06:01:54

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where we have had a lot of rain overnight by the look of it, and it hasn’t stopped yet. After the gym yesterday I had intended to drive straight out into the Peak District for a walk but when I went to get something out of the boot I saw that my walking shoes weren’t there and knew I couldn’t manage in what I already had on my feet so had to call it off. As I was already halfway there it wasn’t worth going back for them. I drove home and made a start on the low maintenance heather bed I’m making next to the drive, putting eight mostly summer heathers in. When they are bedded in, I will add a few complementary plants to finish it off. I have winter heathers on the rockery in the middle of the front lawn and it doesn’t take them long to fill their space and make a lovely tapestry.
School holidays are over so I’m back volunteering this afternoon for a couple of hours. I hope to walk there if it’s not wet.
Have the best day you can, folks.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 03-Jun-25 06:05:35

Morning Mick and everyone.

I have been awake since 1.45am doesn’t bode well for my busy day ahead.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Bellasnana summer colds are horrid.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all, it’s dry here in South Lanarkshire.

After dropping the children off at school and nursery yesterday morning DH and I treated ourselves to coffee and croissants at a favourite cafe, the photo is the view from my seat. We then spent the day tidying and weeding their very large front garden before picking up the children. They weren’t in the best of humours though so the couple of hours till teatime were fairly challenging, the joys of little children. grin

It’s my day in the charity shop and I’m going out for a meal with a couple of friends this evening. We will just walk over to our local hotel where the food is usually good.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Ashcombe Tue 03-Jun-25 06:10:36

Good morning from a breezy and wet Torbay.

I woke up in the early hours, misread the clock and thought it was morning. I actually made tea then realised it was still dark! Duh!

I hope you can take a cold remedy of some kind to help you through the day, Bellasnana. Summer colds are horrid.

What bad luck regarding your walk, Greyduster. Disappointing.

I’m off to Props this morning then a visit to the hairdresser this afternoon.

Have as good a day as circumstances allow. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from the Essex coast. It's sunny and bright at the moment but we are forecast rain later.
We are having all the white lines redone in our small car park today so I hope the rain keeps off.
I have lots of bits and bobs to do today. Tomorrow I am off to DD1's in Leamington for a few days.
I'm looking forward to seeing the girls. S was back in hospital on Sunday night but home now. She has exams from Wednesday to Friday so fingers crossed 🤞 she remains well enough to do them.
Take care everyone, best wishes to all xx

cornergran Tue 03-Jun-25 06:21:36

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet corner of Somerset, some strong gusts of wind in the mix.

Yesterday morning was less enjoyable than the afternoon Chi-Me session which went as well as any first class can. We’re all beginners which I think helps.

One hospital appointment was eventually secured, it’s three months overdue. I was horrified to be told they are so busy they only book repeat appointments when patients phone to ask why one hasn’t been sent. Worrying for both hospital and patients. The other much needed and six months overdue appointment couldn’t be addressed other than with a message on the secretary’s ansaphone. Can only hope it’s responded to, a recent email wasn’t. Moving on to try to get through the bits and pieces list computer said a very firm no. It was two hours of machine vs corner before it gave in.

Today I have a hair trim appointment this morning, this afternoon I’ll trundle off with Mr C who has both an audiology appointment and an eye test. One of those weeks I fear. Oh well, keep smiling and carry on carrying on.

With thoughts to those with personal mountains to climb. Have the best day you can everyone.

Grandmabatty Tue 03-Jun-25 06:25:17

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and wet. There's been quite a lot of rain overnight. It's not raining at the moment but the ground is wet and the windows are rain marked. Bellasnana I hope the boys are good for you today. Baubles that's a lovely view. It looks like a nice place.
Yesterday was busy, between the boys and working in the school library. It was obvious that no-one had tidied it in my three weeks absence! I spent an hour and a half in it and was quite happy. The day was spent pottering until I picked up the boys. I then took dgs1 to football training and unfortunately dgs2 fell asleep in the car. He always wakes up badly when that happens. The wee scone got so upset when he woke up at his house as he wanted to stay at mine. He then didn't want me to go home.
Today is picking up the boys then giving them breakfast and taking them to school. I'll do more clearing and tidying in the boys room. I had cleared out stuff yesterday (a garage) and dgs2 decided he wanted to play with it 🙄. So it's back in the bedroom. I'm not sure what dinner will be. I need to get my freezer stuff from dd, so it will be something from there. Have a good day all

Sallyforth Tue 03-Jun-25 06:30:05

Good morning Mick and everyone. Oh what a wet morning here in Cheshire! Had a text to say my windows will be cleaned today. grin

Just seen a jay in my garden. They are magnificent, but just as dangerous to little birds as their relatives, the magpies. Somewhere out there are the two wrens who vacated their nest in my garden last week.

Today I will go to the hairdresser for the first time in eight weeks. She will work wonders on this thatch.

Sorry you're unwell Bellasnana but I know what you mean about not letting DD down. A little pampering when you get home perhaps.

Good luck with the prep for tomorrow Mick. Enjoy your trip out today.

Have a good day everyone. Special thoughts for those with worries. flowers

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 03-Jun-25 06:33:26

Morning all from a wet West Oxfordshire. Our gardener is due today but if it’s too wet she probably will cancel.

OH has a U3A meeting this morning. I am meeting friends this afternoon.

This evening we have the first session of a 4-week pottery class we have signed up for. We were inspired by the Pottery Throw down programme! I have done several pottery classes but never used a wheel. OH had never done pottery at all. It should be fun and I think we will make three items a week, each.

Have a good day, especially those of you with difficulties.

karmalady Tue 03-Jun-25 06:36:52

Good morning from s somerset, dull, cool and drizzling now and for a bit longer. Very breezy later

Pottering yesterday morning and time vanished, I drove to get the car washed and and then to my plot for a bit. I was waylaid by someone when I got back and ran out of time to get to my craft group. More gooseberries picked and prepped, I have one last lot, will wait a few days. Plenty on the ground for the birds and slugs and plenty of apples are falling, the natural june drop

Today, I do think it will be an indoor day as it feels quite chilly. I am pretty well keeping up to date with cleaning and tidying so some sewing will do me nicely

Have a good day

harrigran Tue 03-Jun-25 06:37:46

Good morning from a wet and windy NE, not the weather I expect in June.
Yesterday I did some laundry, all dried and ironed by late afternoon so I sat and finished my novel.
Today I will potter round, vacuum and dust as my sister and BIL are going to visit tomorrow.
Thoughts are with poorly people.

RosesandLilac Tue 03-Jun-25 06:38:58

Good morning from a soggy hillside in south Glos, it’s raining steadily here so a wet dog walk this morning. My lovely dog walker will take bigger dog out later.
Apparently DH is off to mid Wales today to ‘Look for a cuckoo’ 🤷🏼‍♀️. He reckons he’ll hear one somewhere around Rhayader, a 300+ mile round trip from here. I honestly do wonder where he gets these ideas from!
So, a peaceful day here, interspersed with dog walks and usual bits and bobs. I have taken a Thai curry out of the freezer and I look forward to enjoying it.
Yesterday we did a favourite walk then I cleaned and tidied the Shed before doing some drawing and more crocheting. I’m nearly halfway through the 36 squares for a small blanket- it’s a kit I was given yonks ago, 2 ply wool that you use doubled. Easy and relaxing.
All you busy GNers put me to shame; until i developed heart failure I was flat out so I don’t feel too guilty 😊 My DGCs are older and don’t need me now but I loved the time I spent with them, often frantically busy but I look back with nostalgia.
Have a lovely day 🌹

luluaugust Tue 03-Jun-25 06:53:28

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Yesterday’s U3A outing was interesting as we travelled to Nurstead near Cobham in Kent to visit a 14th century church in the most beautiful surroundings. A talk about its history from the vicars husband.
Today down to earth with a bang as I have the dentist for my annual check up.
Good luck for tomorrow Mick
Hope the cold subsides Bellasnana

brook2704 Tue 03-Jun-25 07:04:20

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and sunny and quite windy, rain forecast for later
Hope you feel better as the day goes on Bellas so tough when you’re looking after little ones
Yesterday I changed my mind about going to the gym and stayed home pottering in the garden all day I really enjoyed it and got lots done. I’ll definitely have to go today though as I’m going for coffee with some pals afterwards.
A lovely view Baubles for a very well deserved coffee
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Redcar Tue 03-Jun-25 07:15:59

Good morning from mid Essex, where it’s bright at the moment. Much needed rain is forecast and it’s windy here again.
Went for a walk yesterday morning and met up with some friends for a chat. I have dentist later this morning for a long appointment to prepare a tooth for a crown. Not looking forward to that, although I generally don’t mind going to the dentist.
I heard that my application to renew my blue badge had been unsuccessful, which is a nuisance. Both DDs want me to appeal against the decision but the criteria for getting a badge are so stringent that I doubt any appeal would be successful. I’ll leave it for a few months and apply again. i hope the rest of the week improves!

sar i hope S feels well enough to take her exams later this week.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Susan56 Tue 03-Jun-25 07:19:17

Good morning from rainy Shropshire.

We had another lovely day yesterday.Morning and lunch in Beaumaris then Pwllheli in the afternoon to have a look at Capel Salem which is being restored by Keith from The pottery programme. The back looked like a lot of progress has been made since the last programme. The chapel is big but not as big as we had imagined.

We wandered down to see the Spanish ship Pants but a huge queue meant we didn’t go aboard as it would have taken too much time out of our flying visit.

Today back to earth with a bump.Choosing new glasses this morning. We Will have lunch out then on to the care home to visit mum.Afterwards we will drive to mum’s house to check things are ok.A long day ahead.

I hope the boys are good for you Bellasnana and that you feel better soon.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

Kalu Tue 03-Jun-25 07:19:55

Good morning all. We had torrential rain last night but today has started sunny and calm, at the moment anyway.

I’ve had a few broken nights sleep lately but last night I slept for a full 7hrs. Not such good news yesterday as the results of my hip X-ray show arthritis in my left hip now too so both (L) hip and knee are arthritic but I think the sciatic has gone. 🤷‍♀️. An appointment with my GP next week will be interesting.
In a matter of minutes, the sun has gone, the wind has picked up and rain has returned, it could be an at home day today.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant day.

Grammaretto Tue 03-Jun-25 08:07:21

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It said showers but heavy rain all night.
I'm supposed to be going on a cycle ride with a group of ex colleagues. I haven't been on my bike since well before my hip replacement so I am apprehensive. to say the least

Yesterday I went to ECA degree show. One of my previous helpers is graduating. It was a joy 😊 . Some of the work really professional. She has found a job and a studio in a disused office building. Since the pandemic there are lots of those.

Poor Bellasnanna I hope you get through your day and the boys are good.

We heard the cuckoo about a month ago near a reservoir in the Pentland Hills. I hope Mr Roses hears a Welsh one.

Hoping everyone has a good day.

Gingster Tue 03-Jun-25 08:16:14

Good morning all , it’s sunny but cooler with a little rain forecast for later. Here in Essex we haven’t had much rain for such a long time, we really need it.

Dh wasn’t too good yesterday, I suppose we have to expect that. Two steps forward, one step back.
Today he has the chiropodist coming and also a visit from someone to see how he’s doing? The stroke people said it’s no one from their team! So it’s a bit if a mystery.

I hope to go to Bridge club this afternoon, if Dh is ok to leave for a couple of hours.
He drove round the block yesterday but is rather nervous , unusual for him. 🫣.

Hope you feel better Bellasnanna dose yourself up.

Rosesandlilac you do extremely well with your long walks, gardening and crafting. I wouldn’t have dreamt you had heart failure. Enjoy your free day. 😉.

Hope all your days go well, appointments, child care and socialising etc. 🪴🌼

Good Morning from Durham. The sky is grey and there’s been overnight rain.
Just a bit of gardening and housework today, some food shopping, then I’m going to see DGS2 and bring DD2’s Little Dog here for his usual stay.

Best wishes to all. X
