Good Morning Everyone,

A different routine today , I have a CT scan with colonography this afternoon at the Horton in Banbury .

Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a sunny Bristol. It’s not going to be warm… ☹️
Good luck with the procedure, Mick. Curiously, this afternoon, Iris is having an operation on both her legs, to ensure even growth. She will be in a wheelchair/crutches for about 6 weeks, I’m told.
After a struggle, I managed to get an appointment with the GP this morning regarding a growth under my eye. Why can’t one just see/speak to a doctor without a struggle, difficulties with the dragon ladies? We are told to be kind to them, but I have yet to speak to a sympathetic 🐉 dragon!
May your day be cheerful. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick I hope all goes well for you today.

It’s wet here in south Glos, very welcome rain for farmers and gardeners. I got soaked dog walking yesterday, it was very blustery too. I lit the wood burner when I got back, I was chilly and the dogs enjoyed it too!
DH went off cuckoo hunting all day so a very laid back day, no cooking or housework.
I started making crochet squares for a change, I don’t think I have ever done ‘fancy’ crochet before and I’m really enjoying it! I’m using up leftover yarn.
Today i need to collect my prescription, go to the post office and get a couple of bits from the village shop so I’ll take tiddler for a walk at the same time. DH will take bigger dog for his usual Wednesday cafe routine and walk.
Let’s hope we see some sunshine today 🌹

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it promises to be a decent day weather wise. Good luck with your procedure today, Mick - hope it’s not too onerous. Yesterday the weather cleared sufficiently for me to walk to school and back where I had an enjoyable reading session with the Year 4 group. I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to prop up one of my potted roses which has been getting an awful battering in the wind and rain and was in danger of losing one or two of its branches. It’s made a lot of growth this year.
Writers group at the library this afternoon and I need to get a new battery fitted in my watch. I hope that’s the only reason it’s stopped working. I missed it yesterday.
Have the best day you can folks.

Bellasnana Wed 04-Jun-25 05:49:00

Good morning from Malta where the high is set to be 31°C and the low 19°C.

Thanks for all your kind messages yesterday, much appreciated as I really felt dreadful. Fortunately the boys were pretty good until the last hour before their mother came home when they went a bit crazy!

I was so glad to get back to my sofa and tennis and am pleased to say I feel a lot better today.

Another day looking after the boys. They have nursery this afternoon and I expect DGS1 will have a meltdown about going with the other gps. He has taken against going with them which is embarrassing and upsetting.

Best of luck this afternoon Mick.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Bellasnana Wed 04-Jun-25 05:52:01

grandMattie I hope all goes well for Iris’s surgery and that she recovers quickly.🙏🏻

Kalu Wed 04-Jun-25 06:07:11

Good morning all. We have a mixed bag of sunshine, rain and high winds today in Glasgow.

GD2 is back to school today which means DD1 will pop in for her school drop off coffee. House alarm will have it’s annual check up this afternoon. After a FaceTime chat with a friend in Perthshire, I have decided it’s time to go up to the but n ben, possibly next week. It’s been quite a while since we were last there but it’s something I feel like doing now.

Good luck with your scan Mick.

Hopefully a good day is ahead for all and a better one for those with difficult times.

Kalu Wed 04-Jun-25 06:11:14

GM wishing the best of luck to Iris for today’s surgery.

Georgesgran Wed 04-Jun-25 06:33:25

Good Mornimg from Durham. It seems a decent start to the day - dry, but breezy.
I’m meeting 2 friends for coffee this morning, then home to potter and tackle DGS2’s laundry, before taking Little Dog out.
Hope your procedure goes well Mick. Good luck to Iris for her operation today.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a cloudy midlands.
Good luck Mick
Friend phoning this afternoon and also knitting a baby sweater.
Hugs to all who are suffering. 🤗

Ashcombe Wed 04-Jun-25 06:38:15

Good morning from dry and bright Torbay.

Good luck with your procedure, Mick.
Thinking of Iris, grandMattie with more surgery to face. Recovery could happen in time for the summer holidays, perhaps.
Glad to hear your cold is receding, Bellasnana.

Yesterday was very busy in our theatre because the next production requires a revolving stage! Luckily, the director’s plea for more help with the set build resulted in more people turning up. The play is Noises Off, a fast moving farce. We kept out of the way as we were busy with our work in the Props Dept.

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from s somerset, bright now but dull drizzle all day

I thought I would watch the sun rise this morning, I sat outside with my coat on, drinking a glass of water. The sky was full of noisy birds and it was actually a nice start to the day.

I had a scary nose polyp bleed last friday and my bp was up because of stress at the time, so it pumped out. Got an appointment with the nurse practitioner after working out how to go via a system online. Result is a referral to ENT clinic. Seems like I will have to wait about 5 months or more, If I can even get an appointment. I had no idea nhs was this bad. Haven`t been to the doctors for many years apart from a few jabs

I am on a mission now to keep my bp down, including losing weight. Nurse said if it bleeds again for 20 minutes to go to A and E and I would have to get an ambulance. We don`t have taxis here.

I will be doing an about-town walk later then some pottering. I should sort paperwork but need to be in the mood.

My net-covered fruit bushes are looking like ghosts but the strong wind is moving the nets a lot and the bushes too. I will be taking the nets off asap. Blackcurrant-picking in a couple of weeks and I will do that the old way, by cutting laden branches off at the base and bringing them into my kitchen

I am waiting until 7 before breakfast, which will be a bit bigger as I am only having two meals a day now, second one at 3. I didn`t feel at all hungry last night and did not crave anything

Have a good day

karmalady Wed 04-Jun-25 06:40:57

me too, am thinking of Iris, wishing her luck

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 04-Jun-25 06:40:57

Morning all from a cool West Oxfordshire.

Hope all goes well with Iris’s operation.

Yesterday turned out well. I felt quite unwell in the morning but perked up later so OH and attended the first of our pottery classes. It was a hoot. We had never used a wheel before.

In the afternoon I watched the final two lectures of my V&A online course.

I am not doing much today. OH is having a cortisone injection in his knee - the other will be done in a couple of weeks.

I am waiting to hear back from the Diabetes 2 prevention people. They were supposed to ring last Friday.

Have a good day everyone.

Grandmabatty Wed 04-Jun-25 06:42:53

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and the road is damp. Quite a bit of cloud cover too and the strong wind continues. Mick good luck with the scan today. GrandMattie best wishes to Iris too. She's been through a lot.
Yesterday was fairly busy between having the boys before and after school/nursery and clearing out their room of redundant toys and assorted rubbish. I have a boot full now and a large bin bag too. It was overdue. When I took them home, dgs1 was off to swimming and I stayed with dgs2 til his dad came in. He didn't want me to go and was quite sad but no tears like the previous night so that was better. I am his favourite person in his world right now, me and his wee pal at nursery! Both boys were funny in the morning. We pass a house which is quite dark with an overgrown garden as we walk to school. Dgs1 told me you never go in that garden because it's creepy. Dgs2 ran with it and added vampires are in the house and come out at Halloween. He hasn't a clue what vampires are but his nursery friend has a big sister, so I'm guessing that's where the story originated from. Does every generation have a creepy house in the neighbourhood, I wonder? I did too.
Today I have an early haircut where my lovely hairdresser will attempt to make my paltry locks look better. Thereafter I will finish tidying the boys room and hoover it. I might start on the hall cupboard! This afternoon I have a stint in the school library. Dinner will be burger(meat free) and chips with salad. Have a good day all.

Sar53 Wed 04-Jun-25 06:51:44

Good morning from the Essex coast where the sun is shining.
DH has a very early hospital appointment for a scan of his leg. This is a follow up to having a stent fitted last year.
I'm off to Leamington later this morning. SIL will meet me from the train at 14.30. DD1 is an invigilator and will be working until later this afternoon.
I'm looking forward to seeing the girls and catching up.
Good luck today Mick and best wishes to Iris, one plucky lady.
Enjoy your day everyone, best wishes to all xx

glammagran Wed 04-Jun-25 06:53:24

Good morning to you all.

A rather non eventful week so far. School pickup for 6 year old DGD3 who was delightful as always. We don’t see so much of DGS2 (4) now to look after as he is at nursery during term time and we only have him during school holidays. He will be at school from September.

I watched the fast, first set of the Alcaraz-Paul match from Roland Garros last night. I then watched a drama for an hour as DH is not keen on the tennis only to find the final game was being played when I switched back. 😂

We will probably go to Waitrose today as we only have Ocado fortnightly. I may choose a ready meal to have this evening which I don’t normally do.

Best wishes to Iris GrandMattie and hope her upcoming op is a great success and also to Mick. Hope your cold goes quickly Bella.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from mid Essex. It’s dry and bright at the moment and the wind has dropped a bit. No rain here yesterday, but the town five miles away had several heavy showers. During the afternoon I noticed that one of my rose bushes, laden with flowers, was resting most of its branches on the lawn! I’ll have to work out how to prop it up when the wind drops.
The dentist yesterday was ok, I had a temporary crown fitted and a small filling replaced. The surgery is being extended and modernised, so it was fairly chaotic in there.

mick I hope your procedure goes well this afternoon. grandmattie best wishes to Iris for her surgery this afternoon, and I hope it’s successful. A long recovery period for her, hopefully she’ll have recovered in time for the summer holidays.
Hoping that all those feeling poorly improve during the day.
Have the best day you can everyone.

I’m hoping to do a bit of gardening this morning and then a Zumba class at the gym this afternoon. Following that a trip to the garden centre with DH for coffee and a treat 😀
Safe travels Sar53 enjoy your family time
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from Shropshire where a sunny and breezy day is forecast.

Yesterday was busy.I chose my new glasses and sunglasses.A hard hit to my wallet😩Costco and lunch out then visited mum.A better day for her. Then we went to check mum’s house, Sainsbury’s and finally home😴

I have had toothache overnight but it seems to have settled now.Wondering if I was grinding my teeth with stress of the situation with mum?I think I will see what happens tonight and will phone tomorrow if I need to😩

Hope your procedure goes well Mick and best wishes to Iris for her operation🦩such a brave girl.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻

Morning Mick, morning All. Still wet after overnight rain. Should clear later.

Still absorbing an email regarding Mr C’s missing cardiology appointment . It seems he’s been moved to the two year review list. As it’s 18 months since the last appointment that felt OK until we read on. The delay on these appointments is currently nudging three years, so in his case almost five years between reviews. In the meantime we are to consult the GP with concerns or call an ambulance if serious issues. Goodness. All we could think was how fortunate he was to have had surgery so quickly when he did. I felt for the secretary tasked with passing this on. No wonder her calls go to ansaphone.

Busy one here today. Early grocery delivery, yet another meter change and dust removal. Hopefully some time with my book.

Good luck today mick, hope all goes well for Iris and she recovers well grandmattie.

Have the best day you can everyone

Good morning from a cloudy but slowly brightening Black Country.

Popped to Merry Hell Hill yesterday, bought 3 tops and a small bag for evening for our holiday to Portugal next week. Then tackled the pile of ironing.

Last night I had a long phone chat (over an hour) with my friend who moved to near Stamford Lincs 8 years ago. She has invited me to come and stay one weekend. So need to find a suitable date for us both and look up train times. Not seen her seen before Covid.

Dentist later today, where I am having an infill which will cost over £300!!

Hope all goes well today Mick and best wishes gM for Iris's procedure and speedy recovery.

Marydoll Wed 04-Jun-25 07:35:33

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 7°C, with rain forecast, yet again.

Mick, I hope all goes well with your scan and best wishes to Iris,
Sar, I hope your granddaughter improves enough to sit her exams. DS2 had a similar childhood, it is terrifying watching them struggling to breathe.💐

Yesterday was a bit of a disastrous day. I was out for hours, not because I had lots to do, but my walking was so slow and I was extremely weary.
I spotted a large kg box of cherries in Tesco and decided to treat DH and I. Unfortuately the box hadn't been sealed properly and as I picked it up, the cherries escaped and cascaded down the display and along the aisle. They were rolling everywhere. I felt like lying down in the aisle and having a full blown meltdown.😉 To make matters worse, there were no assistants to be seen and no-one came to my aid.😭
Why is my life so difficult? I really should take myself to a nunnery and retreat from the world!!!

I made a hot water bottle to take to bed, to easy my aching joints. Suddenly I felt my pyjama top was wet, then realised my pillow was sodden. I hadn't tightened the top of the bottle properly.
At midnight I was scrambling about in the dark, ( trying not to waken DH ) looking for a change of pyjamas and find another pillow.
I shouldn't have worried about disturbing , Mr MD, he never stirred. 🤬

Today I'm off to church to enlarge posters for the fête on the photocopier, then laminate them.
After that I plan to go into the dentist to get an appointment for my broken tooth and chase up my referral for the dental hospital.
In the light of my skin cancer diagnosis, my RA consultant is
concerned about the lesions in my mouth and has stopped my RA medication.
Of course, I now have an RA flare up.

I wish you al, as best a day as possible and virtual hugs to all, who are finding life difficult.

P,S, I may treat myself to a strawberry Danish from the home baker's next do the dentist, I shall cut it into very small pieces.
Healthy eating and good dental hygiene have been a waste of time for me, so I am going rogue! 😉

Gingster Wed 04-Jun-25 07:40:54

Good morning all.

Sar I hope you have a trouble free journey and enjoy your time with the family.
Good luck with your procedure Mick and all best wishes to Iris.

Yes we have a ‘creepy house’ around the corner. I didn’t think anyone lived there but I have seen a well dressed middle aged man walk out of there a few times. 😳 when I’ve been dog walking.

The mystery visitor never materialised yesterday . I had it written clearly on my calendar 11.30-12.30 - follow-up 6 week after stroke. The stroke team didn’t know anything about it. Oh well, Dh has seen plenty of others.

I went to Bridge Club and enjoyed a bit of normality. Dh was fine but hadn’t done his excercises or watered the pots. Two things I asked him to do in my absence. 😤. Unless I’m behind him all the time …….!!!

Today I’ll pop into town and have a quick coffee with my friend.

Take care all 🪴🌼

GrannyIvy Wed 04-Jun-25 07:42:06

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where it is forecast sunny and windy which suits me as I will hopefully get my holiday washing sorted.

Good luck to Mick and Iris for their procedures and hope everyone has a good day
