Every summer I wish I could get out of jeans and into a dress . My problem is that my legs look veiny , my ankles are a bit puffy and my feet are a bit swollen Not a great look . So I keep it all hidden under socks , shoes and trousers , while coveting all the lovely cool floaty summer dresses .

Are those lovely boots Pavers Smintie? I have a pair and they’re very comfy but not such pretty colours as yours.

Everyone has their own style, and it's okay if dresses don't feel right for you. Separates can be just as stylish and flattering when chosen well. It’s all about what makes you feel confident and comfortable. You should let fashion work for you, not the other way around.

Go for the cool floaty dresses you like nannafiz and don’t think twice about your legs . No one is looking and if they do it really doesn’t matter.

What about some leggings under the dress? I has to do a small boat journey midsummer and thought navy leggings under a nice loose dress looked grand. The dress was shades of muted green but there was navy in pattern.

I’ve just received my Snag capri tights to wear under a dress I’ve just bought. They’ll really do the job nicely. The only downside is that, although Snag are made for larger women, although I went for the size recommended in the size chart, with my legs being so chubby I need a size larger ie 16-18. My legs are at least one size larger than the rest of my body sad. ICan just about squeeze into them but think, for comfort I need to buy a larger size. Thankfully they don’t charge much for postage, which is always the problem when it comes to many internet returns.

I do have quite a few Pavers boots, they are so comfortable to wear. The ones in the picture are from Rogue and Wolf, I do love a well painted boot. 😍

I have lipoedema, which distorts my lower body, especially my legs, which are enormous and totally out of proportion with the rest of my body. It has also affected my arms. I find dresses are the most comfortable form of clothing on a hot day. If others are offended by my arms and legs, too bad. I try not to expose too much of my body and generally wear an empire style, knee-length dress over leggings. However, if it gets too hot, l have been known to remove the leggings. I sometimes wear maxi dresses and skirts.

My friend has this too but she always looks stunning. She wears loose baggy trousers and long dresses which really suit her. It’s about time medicine found a way to help with this because a lot of people suffer from it.
