Good morning all and it’s rather chilly and dull here in Essex.

Today I’m off to meet my two ‘old’ school pals, only three stops on the train. We’ll have coffee which will probably turn into lunch and time will fly by. Dd will pop in to sit with her dad for a while and he’s happy to have a quiet few hours to himself.
He has his phone and his alarm so all should be well.

I hope your long journey home is trouble free Sar.🤞.
Where in the world are you GG? 🌎.

Gentle days all round 🙏

Good morning, it’s raining steadily here on the hillside in south Glos, a wet dog walk this morning.
I walked bigger dog early yesterday before taking tiddler to Corsham Court park for a wander and then collected their worming medication from the vets. A very pleasant walk somewhere different.
On our later walk I saw lots of swallows, some of which were collecting mud from a boggy patch near the path for their nests in a barn nearby. It’s always wonderful to see these little birds returning from Africa.
I enjoyed pottering in the garden, everything is growing well now, some of my foxgloves are over 5’ tall and the roses are amazing this year.
I need to tidy and clean the fridge today, it’s been a while 🫣, not my favourite job.
I’ll walk tiddler first, bigger dog has her lovely dog walker, then get on with it.

That’s another beautiful quilt grandMattie, something I could never attempt because I simply don’t have the attention to detail that is needed!

Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

Good morning from Shropshire.A sunny day forecast.

Yesterday was very busy.DGS1 was pleased to see us at the school gates and we spent a lovely few hours with him.
On the way home a stone made a chip on the windscreen.

Today we were meant to be visiting mum but I feel exhausted and also we need to get the windscreen fixed so will go later in the week.I had phoned an old friend of mum’s at the weekend and she visited mum yesterday.Apparently mum recognised her and enjoyed her visit.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

Good morning from Leamington, my last morning here. I'll be on the train at 10.23 back into London, then 2 tubes before the hour long journey back into Essex. I should be home by 2.
Tonight is our monthly committee meeting at the club so some work to do when I get home.
Today is also one of DH'S grandsons 11th birthday, they are on their way home from a family holiday, but we should be seeing them later.
All in all a busy day.
I've had a lovely time with my girls, I will miss them when I get home.
A beautiful quilt GM.
Have a good day everyone, best wishes to all xx

Good morning from a bright sunny Cambridgeshire. The littlest one crept into bed with me at 6 am and has snuggled down. Big sister is still asleep. DD2 will finish her shift at 8 and get home in time to take them to school. I will return home and then spend the morning on the garden before heading out for a hair cut and colour and a chat with my lovely hairdresser this afternoon. Maybe a quick pop into M & S too!
GM the quilt is so lovely. So many talented Grans on this thread.
Bella I am approaching my 70th and I find I get so tired some days too. You do have a busy life with the boys rest when you can.

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday. Take care.

Forgot to say “Have the best day you can, folks!”

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Rather a full start to the day in South Yorkshire but it should brighten later. I had a broken night with excruciating cramp in both my feet, but not at the same time! The only way to get relief was to stand on the cold bathroom floor. I had a lovely walk around our country park where the lake was awash with geese and their young, and we now have a breeding pair of egrets and two chicks. I was beyond excited (yes, I know, but I don’t have much to get excited about these days😁)!
GS is coming over this morning to help me with the garden. He is going away with his parents tomorrow to climb Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales. Sooner them than me! I hope they get the weather; it’s beautiful up there.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and cloudy. Bellasnana looking after two active boys is tiring! GrandMattie another lovely quilt.
Yesterday was busy. I got the boys up, fed and dressed and took them to school where I worked for an hour in the library. In the afternoon, I was back in the library for a nursery meeting representing dd. Much as I like the nursery staff, it wasn't well run. Two minutes of talking then half an hour of sitting. There was tea and cakes provided and I think you were supposed to chat but the usual suspects took over. The next half hour was better as we went into the nursery and played with our respective child. I spent it following dgs2 around the outdoor part! He was thrilled that grandma was there.
Once back home with them both, dgs1 and I made peanut butter cookies. He was allowed one before I took him to football training. Then I drove dgs2 home. As usual, he fell asleep in the car and had the most almighty meltdown when I woke him up. I looked it up and it's quite common in wee people apparently. He did come out of it after ten minutes or so.
Today I'll get the boys and bring them back to my house for breakfast as dd is working from home. I have tidying to do that I was too tired to face last night. I'm going to make stew in the slow cooker as well. After that, I'll pick up the boys and dgs2 wants to make chocolate chip cookies, so we'll do that before I take them home. Dgs1 has a swimming lesson and I'll sit with dgs2 until his daddy gets home.
I have a bit of a cough which I'm hoping disappears before cataract surgery on Friday.
Have a good day all.

Good morning from a breezy and overcast Torbay.

Another beautiful quilt, grandMattie! Such a talent!

Do you think a check up with your doctor might be an idea, Bellasnana? Sometimes a simple blood test can identify a deficiency such as anaemia which could account for your tiredness.

Yesterday, I walked over the Downs to our local Babbacombe Theatre to book a ticket to see two comedians in November whose entire show involves anecdotes about life in primary schools. I discovered them on Facebook and they are touring England with their show. Their humour would resonate with many of you with experience of schools or young ones which covers just about everyone!

A good day is wished to you all. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Thanks, bellasnanna. I’m feeling less down now. It’s a passing thing, horrible while it lasts.
My MiL always used to recommend a “tonic”when being low…. Give it a try?

Good morning from Malta where another sunny day is dawning with a high of 35°C.

Had a good morning with the boys yesterday, then in the afternoon met up with my friend’s daughter who is here on business. We had a really lovely few hours chatting over tea and the most delicious cake then I ran her back to her hotel.

No nursery for the boys today but it is getting too hot for the park so I’m not sure how I will entertain them today.

I’m feeling really tired these days which doesn’t help but I shouldn’t grumble as so many of you are dealing with much worse problems than mine.

I hope our dear grandMattie’s spirits have lifted today. 💐

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Beautiful quilt grandmattie.

Morning Mick, Morning Al from a damp corner of Somerset.

The plants I put in yesterday will be pleased at the overnight rain. Off along the motorway today to meet good friends at a garden centre. They will be on their way over the bridge, it breaks their journey and offers a welcome catch-up. Fortunately they’ll be amused if I yawn after a horribly disturbed night. We’ll have a cheerful couple of hours together

With thoughts to all with personal mountains to climb. Have the best day you can everyone.

grandMattie Tue 10-Jun-25 05:35:10

Good morning from an overcast Bristol.
At least, the wind is lighter and we are promised higher temperatures. I’m tired of being chilly.
I finished my quilt last night, including embroidering the year and my initials, as is customary, and am pleased with the result.
Empty today, but I’ll start on the next quilt, after baking for the FAB cafe tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a good day. Carpe diem.🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
