Isn’t a thank you from a teacher good enough now?

It seems not. I wonder what message it's sending to their children when parents think they are entitled to a gift for doing anything in school. The mind boggles.

Why should schoolgirls get bouquets for doing what they are taught to do? What would a schoolboy get in similar circumstances? When I read the lesson in chapel, all I got was a thank you from the school chaplain, which I have not forgotten. Wasn't thank you enough for child and mother?

I knew someone who made welcome to womanhood period packs. I'm not sure they caught on- a pair of pants and some sanitary towels in a pretty box!

Not sure what to think really...

My DGDs are given flowers (Sainsbury's tulips last time) after dance shows as are most of the other girls (not sure what happens with the boys) which I think is quite sweet.

That is sweet...

Quite different to the scenario described on MN - to summarise - Year 7 child had taken part in assembly about climate change - parent had an expectation that she would be presented with flowers purchased by the school.

Give me strength!

Apart from all the hair, makeup, dresses and fancy cars for proms which is massive on our local FB page I've just read a couple of posts on MN.
What the f**k.
A parent has emailed a teacher because her daughter didn't receive a bouquet after narrating in an assembly for 6 mins.
In another post someone was asking for a bakery that would make period cookies. Cookies depicting panties with a pink gusset, sanitary towels and welcome to the big girls club.
That's apart from kids being allowed to go to school with a tail as they identify as being a cat or something.
Where is all this stupidity going to end or is it too late because it's being allowed to happen?
I'm so glad my two daughters (both in their 40's) don't have any children.
