Pet names for your animals

I’ve DD2’s Littld Dog here - being referred to as pea head, as his groomer had been a little over enthusiastic!
Once had a Labrador here for training called Bubba or Piggy! First lesson was to get him whistle trained, so I didn’t have to should either for him.

Did you know about the chap with two Rottweilers? One was called Rolex, the other Timex - the were watchdogs! Ta da!! 😂

I’m intrigued by the name Yuki, Claremont. - is it pronounced like Yucky, ie not very nice in children’s language, or Yookie?
We had a tortoiseshell cat when I was a child, and the poor girl, who was no oil painting, was called Monster. Looking back, my poor mum calling her in at night would be shouting Monster! I just wondered if Yuki was along the same lines.

Yookie - it is its name so won't change it. Ive known him since he was a puppy and he is as good as gold and very obedient. He has met Minou, and it all went very well. No issues with Yata- which I knew would be the case as they have met many times before.

My farming neighbour has a big xbred dog called 'pooopee' - I've tried a gentle correction, but 'pooopee' he will remain. Mind yu, she has a son called Vicky!

it is of course spellt 'puppy', but there is no telling her!

I was just over at my son's the other day, and was petting his sweet little calico, called Lucy. Son says 'Poo-cat has really taken to you!"

Apparently Lucy's digestive issues have granted her a new nickname.

My mum could remember everyone's dogs' names but any & all cats all got called "Plinkin".
We did have a cat called "Mr Mckellar's cat's kitten" (or Plinkin) when I was about 5.

girl lies down for a tummy rub I call her my roly poly kitten dumpling (from The Tale of Tom Kitten)

My dog is addressed as BE QUIET!

Merlin is sometimes referred to as Mer-Mers. Renée is sometimes called Ren-Rens or Little One. Fleur is, well, just Fleur.

Of course, when Renée jumps all over my nicely ironed pile of clothes she can be known as Little Sh*t!

Our rescue Cocker Spaniel was called Bobby before we got him. We named him Ollie as he was only 7 months old!
I always call him Ollie Bobs!

Jayda tha Mini-panda is also known as the baby, Oinkers (Hubby), and Madame Grumpy (also Hubby). (Jayda loves me but doesn't like anybody else. We are not sure why.)

Qi (cue) tha Mini-tiger is also known as Little Girl (Hubby), Qi-ee (cue-ee), Boops, and Boopsie.

Why were dogs named after drinks at one time? Whisky, Brandy, Sherry, mind you I never came across one called Vodka.

I had three cats, Brandy, Whisky and Champagne, many years ago

Yes! Betty is often Boo-boo, Poppy is poet, or Pops, or Pombear!

DD's cat certainly lets the dogs know who's in charge, but only until the little dog decides she's the boss!

How do poor little Minou and Yata get on? Minou must be quite an age, you first wrote about her years ago

Cockerpoos can be adorable but can also be very strongwilled.

Two of the cats get called Chicken Pie nothing to do with either real name, just an endearment .

Moo has black and white patches like a cow, hence his name but I call him MooMoo . I’ve had him 18 months and he still doesn’t respond to his name (he’s not very bright bless him!)

His sister Cleo only gets called that but responds to it instantly she’s much brighter but I think she has the equivalent of cat ADHD. Never a dull moment on our house!

Salem, the smallest of our cats, also goes by the name of Meep, because that’s the sound she makes when she’s after a treat. Midnight is also known as Midi or Missy. Freddie is sometimes called Fwedewick and Lenny is Lennylennylen.
