This may sink without trace but is there room for a thread on the birthdays of those we have loved -and possibly lost?

If there isn’t never mind but I’ll risk mentioning my lovely Mutti whom I lost in 1998 and almost certainly didn’t tell her often enough how much I loved her.

Our beloved Son died from a very rare disease (Reyes Syndrome), he became unwell on the Thursday and died the following Monday 4 days after his 4th birthday, we will never forget him, his 2 nephews and 1 niece know all about him, tho their mum was only 10 when he died, this was 1983 and I still miss him so much.

Love hearing all these beloved memories of so many lives.....sharing sympathy with you all.....remembering my eccentric irreplaceable dad and a friend who died only 19 in a road accident 40 years ago. Its incredible that we all live through so much loss xx love to you all dear GNetters x

A lovely yet poignant thread. As we get older the list of those we have lost grows longer, doesn't it. I've outlived nearly all of my friends, and am also now the matriarch of the family. My husband was killed over 30 years ago in a road accident - I always feel so sad that he only knew one of our five grandchildren and one great grandson. The moment's stupidity of one lorry driver cheated him of so much ........
Life is full of memories now, each one greatly cherished, and I'm so grateful for them all

Today 20th June 1966 my beloved Dad Albert finally went to his eternal rest at 63 years. He was adored by his six children and four grand children and I will always be grateful he stayed to meet my son, his 5 th grandchild. He was too weak to hold him but he stroked his hand and smiled. He is loved and missed by us all. RIP Dad 🩷
