Not for the first time dd got us tickets for a Festival of Voices concert, in the glorious Dorchester Abbey, in the supremely picture-postcard village of Dorchester (Oxfordshire). Eight primary school choirs (Gdd1 just one of the ‘voices’) all joyfully singing their heads off, with a wonderful conductor.

And a perfectly beautiful summer evening, too.
Apparently the event has been taking place for 40 years, and is repeated several times during the week - literally dozens of primary school choirs taking part.
👏👏 to all the teachers and organisers.

It sounds amazing Witzend. I love choirs of children their voices are so pure. It must have been very enjoyable and moving. I would love to know which songs they sang. Was it traditional, modern or a mixture?

A mix. A few very well known ones from musicals (Oliver, and a rousing rendition of Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines! - plus trad. Polynesian, Congolese, etc. and some well known others. The conductor had them part-singing some of them - quite a feat with a couple of hundred children who’d only had the afternoon to rehearse together!
