I care about her background when she lies about it. Unfortunately, she still has a flexible interpretation of the truth.
Like all of them, then
She's paying for being a strong-minded woman in the mysogynistically challenging World of Westminster. And black too.
She's not politely and demurely keeping quiet and waiting her turn, and although she may not make it to the next General Election.........I bloody well hope she does!

Incidentally, she only worked in computing for three years.
A little like RR then, not that long in her field of expertise!

Thank you for the information about Engineering. Comparable with someone claiming high -flying jobs in economics, or citing a background as the son of a toolmaker to creating a false impression of a deprived childhood ?
Fortunately, in this country at present, I am able to my opinion and able to express it.Probably!!
She probably knows more about economics than the present Chancellor who is Starmer's Achilles heel imo. 😁I very much doubt that - at least, there hasn't been any evidence of it.
The bar is set very low!
*support in not supporting
I guess it is inevitable that KB will be popular with some because of what she represents. She isn't afraid to speak out, though she could tone down her combativeness. It's a bit like Marine Le Penn, who despite her wrong doings, still has a lot of supporting France and is often on tv giving her opinions.
A mixture of tenacity and outspokenness in both of them. Perhaps even a sort of dignity?
You should hear some of our lot ! Are there any truly honest politicians these days ?

Crikey! If you think she shines ... Ah well! I guess we all see things differently.
Still willing to crowd fund a one way ticket to Australia for her
.
I don’t care about her background, not interested but I think she speaks well with a sense of humour which the majority seem to lack these days. I have, however, only seen her in parliamentary broadcasts where she seems to shine.
I don't make any allowances for her gender or her background so I am basing my opinion of her on what she says and how she says it. To me she is out of her depth and by constantly repeating the same old stock phrases to critise the PM she comes across as dull, condescending and arrogant. I can't detect any leadership qualities there at all. She is struggling.

Badenoch has also created the impression that she had a deprived childhood. She used to go on about living in Nigeria under a socialist regime (which was an outright lie) and described walking miles for fresh water and frequent power cuts.
The truth is that she spent part of her childhood in America, where her mother lectured at Harvard and the rest in a pleasant suburb of Lagos, where her father owned a small hospital. She attended an exclusive private school. People who knew her family have said that the family was well off and almost certainly had their generator for electricity and borehole for water, as many middle class urban Nigerians do.
She's a liar and blusters when challenged. Arrogant and patronising describe her well. I've not seen any proof that she actually knows what she's doing - pursuing an anti-woke agenda is her limit.

I like her, I think she is tough and has a sense of humour with it. Wish we had someone like her here.
Would you like us to send her over to you? Her constituents wouldn't notice she'd gone.

My first post, hi.
Unfortunately there are very few politicians that could be considered likeable IMO, they nearly always disappoint at some time.
Ms Badenoch arrogant beyond belief and her performances at the despatch box have really shown us how useless she is.
Her response to Starmer’s statement the other day about his meetings with the G7 and NATO just about scraped the bottom of the barrel.
As Starmer said ‘unserious’ and she made a complete fool of herself. She even complained about Britain no longer being important on the world stage when it was the Tories disaster of a Brexit that contributed.
Sorry, can't stand her, and she tells.....FIBS

I like her, but won’t ever vote Tory again.
I'm also a fan of Kemi B. There are still a few of us willing to pop our heads up above the parapet, and many more I reckon who agree but know they'll be set upon if they state it. This dire Labour lot in power are making a real hash of the job and don't get me started on Reform! Pops head down.
I like the way she wont be bullied by interviewers.

I like her; she is sensible and balanced, intelligent and practical, with an engineering background.
The Conservative grandees are massing for attack, but some of them do not realise their time has passed.Badenoch does not have an engineering background! As for the rest ... I politely disagree with your opinion.
There are different areas of engineering, some can be totally different from what we think of as traditional fields of engineering.
Kemi Badenoch has a degree in Computer Systems Engineering and MEng. and worked as a software engineer.I'm well aware of that. However, it's not the impression she gave when she selected. I know because I was speaking to somebody on the selection panel the day after she was selected as the candidate for Saffron Walden. The man I was talking to was a retired civil engineer and she told him she knew all about what it was like to do his job because she was also an engineer and had often been the only woman on site.
Ah!!
Yes, it's true she has an engineering background.
Giving the impression she was a civil engineer was her being disingenuous, she is known for being economical with the truth.
Incidentally, she only worked in computing for three years.
