She's paying for being a strong-minded woman in the mysogynistically challenging World of Westminster. And black too.

She's not politely and demurely keeping quiet and waiting her turn, and although she may not make it to the next General Election.........I bloody well hope she does!

Allira Sat 21-Jun-25 12:42:44

She certainly doesn't lack confidence!
😃

I am not a fan but can admire her chutzpah

eazybee Sat 21-Jun-25 12:50:25

I like her; she is sensible and balanced, intelligent and practical, with an engineering background.
The Conservative grandees are massing for attack, but some of them do not realise their time has passed.

Another Liz Truss, god help us.

So very English to patronisingly think it's good that she has a different colour skin as a reason to want her PM, her ascerbic performance at PM question time shows how inarticulate and unable she is to get her act together.

At least no one has yet mentioned Thatcher. As shown in the current set of documentaries on IPlayer, Shifty, her intransigence and stupidity are the major reason that the UK is in the state it is in. Interesting to see her speaking out loud at a rally and naming immigrants as 'the problem' that Britain is unable to move forward and on the strength of that, she won the 1979 election.

There, click bait answered, it's so sad that so many British people a) hate foreigners despite paying lip service to some'black' people and b) love kow towing to corrupt, self serving Tory politicians.

Being so poor, she is claiming £3K to pay for the heating allowance for her second home. I do not like her.

Week after week Badenoch doesn’t do her homework for PMQT. Then, when challenged, she continues with the same misinformation.

Make the most of you admiration. She will soon be gone.

Badenoch does not have an engineering background! As for the rest ... I politely disagree with your opinion.

Fingers crossed! However, have you looked at the list of current Conservative MPs? Who is going to replace her?

Siptree Sat 21-Jun-25 18:48:29

For years we heard how more women in parliament would make it all so much better. I really do hate to say it but they haven't. There are loads of women there now and it just keeps getting worse.

Ilovedogs22 Sat 21-Jun-25 19:44:50

I call her" Kemmii" in a silly voice!
I can't actually understand a word she says most of the time!
She is soo unbelievably twee and right -up her own bottom.
Ps I think MrIlovedogs has a thing about her though, as he goes all unnecessary when she's twittering on the news.
How can I possibly compete against the other -worldly goddess-like being know as Kemmii! 😶

You are very brave Windmill1 writing this post. Whenever I post anything political I’m shot down in flames.

So here goes I like her straight forward attitude.

Grantanow Sat 28-Jun-25 10:11:26

She's unlikely to rescue the Tory Party from oblivion.

I agree.
I care not whether an MP is a woman. Or black.

I just want the job done well.

There are different areas of engineering, some can be totally different from what we think of as traditional fields of engineering.
Kemi Badenoch has a degree in Computer Systems Engineering and MEng. and worked as a software engineer.

I'm well aware of that. However, it's not the impression she gave when she selected. I know because I was speaking to somebody on the selection panel the day after she was selected as the candidate for Saffron Walden. The man I was talking to was a retired civil engineer and she told him she knew all about what it was like to do his job because she was also an engineer and had often been the only woman on site.

growstuff Sat 28-Jun-25 11:09:27

Incidentally, she only worked in computing for three years.

Ah!!

Yes, it's true she has an engineering background.
Giving the impression she was a civil engineer was her being disingenuous, she is known for being economical with the truth.

eazybee Sat 28-Jun-25 11:40:22

Thank you for the information about Engineering. Comparable with someone claiming high -flying jobs in economics, or citing a background as the son of a toolmaker to creating a false impression of a deprived childhood ?

Fortunately, in this country at present, I am able to my opinion and able to express it.

Smileless2012 Sat 28-Jun-25 12:01:43

I like the way she wont be bullied by interviewers.

twinnytwin Sat 28-Jun-25 12:39:03

I'm also a fan of Kemi B. There are still a few of us willing to pop our heads up above the parapet, and many more I reckon who agree but know they'll be set upon if they state it. This dire Labour lot in power are making a real hash of the job and don't get me started on Reform! Pops head down.

Mt61 Sat 28-Jun-25 13:37:40

I like her, but won’t ever vote Tory again.

Probably!!

She probably knows more about economics than the present Chancellor who is Starmer's Achilles heel imo. 😁
