To debate or say "Indeed"

Yesterday I was discussing weight loss injections with a relative who has just lost 22lbs on the carnivore diet. He was totally against this diet when DH started it just after Christmas, now is loving results. However after watching something on TV about WLI (think it was Tonight), he's now an 'expert' on the dangers of the injections.
Having read lots about it over the last few months and spoken to nurse at our health centre I was about to mention what I've researched. Then I thought, I just can't be bothered so replied "Indeed"

Is it my age ?(almost 64), is it now I'm retired and spend most of my time at home with my dog?

I just can't be bothered with people 😕

Generally I just nod, mostly not worth expressing a different opinion with a know it all, just prolongs the situation.

I have noticed this before in life.

Someone who pntificates against something, changes their mind, and then they have a need to be a "leader" in the opposite direction.

Personally, I use 'indeed' in a totally different way, to say I approve of the comment made.

In the above case I'd probably, hmmm interesting!

I have been a nod, agree smile person for most of my life. I do have one friend who likes to give her opinion on things but she can be such a Debbie Downer. This affects my mood so I am slowly coming round to challenging her on things she says.
