Do you still have it because you love it, or because you can't afford a younger model, mine is a 18 year old Renault Clio, in great condition, I keep it because I love it, but also I can't afford a newer one anyway lol

Just sold my VW van after 25 years, not new when I bought it. I have an almost new replacement and while I loved the old one the new one is much nicer to drive and everything works. The only issue is it's a mobile computer and although it's easy enough to use I really don't need it to be so clever. A brand new version of my old van would be much better.

Mine is a 12 year old VW Golf Automatic and I love it. It's getting a bit old and creaky now, a bit like me, so I might look for a new (second hand) one. Maybe.

My Ford fiesta was 20yrs old in April, despite 148,000 miles on the clock, it still goes like a dream. Previously owned by my grandson for 3yrs and bought over from Ireland beforehand by a friend of my sons. I have never had any money for a newer car but am coming into some money, and a much newer car is on the list. The car is then going to my 17yr old grandson when he passes his test. It may only last him only a year but he thinks its quite a cool car

My Volvo is just over a year old. I will keep it until it’s old though. My previous car was 10-years-old and starting to need serious money spending on it.

I day - just got a new one yesterday. We are giving our other one to grandson , that one is 10 years old but in good condition. He needs a new one because his has done 500,000 kms and he is a newly qualified doc and works awful 12 hour shifts overnight. We were worried that he might have a nasty accident.

25 years old, Nissan Micra and I love it!
So reliable, easy to park and a dream to drive.

I have an 11 year old Renault Clio which I love. I intend to drive it as long as we both last!

I bought my automatic Renault Clio 3 years ago and she is now almost 8 years old with just 36,000 miles on the clock. I love my car. My last car was a Peugeot 207 and it was 14 years old when I changed to an automatic. I drive a lot of miles between Scotland and South England to visit family.

Mine’s a 2009 Kia Cee’d estate, I’ve had it four years and like most of my previous cars I’ll keep it until it has to be scrapped.

We have a Citroen C3 which is 7 years old, it has only done 16500 miles, we have had it for 6 years. Prior to that we had a Honda Jazz for 12 years. Both automatics, after driving in the USA we switched to an automatic car.

M0nica DH always chose a Saab 2L Turbo as his company car - he had 9 in a row and we always bought it for me when it came up for renewal. The final one, in Malachite green, I gave to my Dad, who drove it until he was 92 and had to give up driving.

I previously sold my 14 year old Yaris which I loved, before buying a Toyota Aygo which is now 8 years old - only 33,000 miles.

Although I don’t believe it’s generally true that the latest of anything is necessarily an improvement on the older version, I do believe that’s true of cars, particularly with regard to improved safety features.

When we replaced one of our cars for a brand new one about three years ago, we were amazed at the extra features it had even though the one it replaced was only nine years old.

My totally black, inside and out, John Cooper Works Mini is 10 years old with 102,000 on the clock and I adore it.
It is often admired and complimented by strangers in car parks!

I have a 2 year old black Mini Cooper Sport Automatic and get lots of compliments too. I love it, and being older with arthritic hands, it is brilliant for me.
Prior to that, I had a Mazda MX5, which I adored, but which wasn’t that practical to get in and out of once I got older.

Just changed my 10 year old Yaris for a hybrid model which is automatic. It's not new but new to me.

My 2nd hand Yaris is about 10 years old.

I have a 5 year old Toyota Yaris it suits me fine although I backed it into another car yesterday 🙈 DH has a BMW X3 which is 5 years old that I am not allowed to drive😬

In October 2022 I traded in an eight month old, top spec Honda CRV that had been my husband’s pride and joy, for a seven month old four door Mini Cooper, British racing green with a black top. It’s a smashing little car, fun to drive, with a terrific turn of speed and it hugs corners like a limpet. I do sometimes hanker after the other beauty though, but there’s no way I needed a car that big, or the memories it came with.

I have a 1967 MG Midget. Bought partially restored in 2006 with the intention of driving around Scotland. I believe it is somewhere in the garage never having been seen since ….. 🤣

My car is a Nissan Note. It is twelve years old. Still going strong. It is great for us because it is shared with dh and he is 6ft 2 and I'm only 5ft.Unlike a lot of small cars there is still room in the back for a passenger behind dh when he drives with the seat as far back as possible while still being fine for me when I drive with the seat as far forward as possible. grin We would consider a new car if they still did the Note but it was discontinued. The entire back seat moves back or forward in the upright position so you can choose to have a big boot and not much leg space or a smaller boot with plenty of leg room in the back.

I have a thirteen year old Nissan Note, which still has less than 40,000 miles on the clock. I call her Gladys. I have had her for four years and will keep her until she is no longer able to run. I agree that it is a shame that Nissan Notes are no longer made because they are the ideal small car. I like the fact that the seats are high, too. DH has a ten year old Beamer, which he loves but l am not as keen. The seats are very low and I don’t find it particularly comfortable.

8 years old I meant! And a lot of miles on the clock.

Talking of Corsas, dd1’s first car was a Corsa, already 80 miles on the clock. She drove it for a few years until going to work abroad - it then went to dd2, who drove it for at least 8 more years. Super little car, always so reliable.
