Grumpiness!!

If people can grump, or have a go at someone they do. This was never the case in earlier times.

I’m not talking about the N&P threads because they are different, I am talking about what May start off as cheerful, jolly, fellow man well met sort of threads which descend almost immediately into grump, grump moan, moan, criticise, criticise, argue, argue.

Sad isn’t it?

Me too, Bluebell

My autocorrect has gone into overdrive.

I do too, Bluebelle.

I don't too, Bluebelle

When you read posts by certain people do you imagine what they look like I mean I don’t do it on purpose but I have a little image come into my mind I wonder her true to life it is ?

I have never come across forums where people are banned for trivial reasons before. It seems to be the case here. Ah well, whoever it is who reports these people can go and jump as far as I’m concerned. They need to see a psychiatrist. Callistemon was lovely and would never be harmful to anyone.

Yes, Elderflower with soda water here too.

Not being a goody two shoes, I'm trying to cut back and also think of the empty calories in 🍷🥂

I pop over to Mumsnet from time to time and find some of the threads hilarious, particularly the ‘classics’. It’s much franker than Gransnet and still has plenty of moaners, but makes a change.

Elderflower Presse for me now RosieandherMaw, I hardly drink alcohol and love it👍

Jaxjacky Tue 01-Jul-25 21:13:40

kitty I drive to quiz, today being a Tuesday is low alcohol building up to Thursday 🙂

Doodledog Tue 01-Jul-25 21:12:45

I have a bottle of 0% alcohol Kopparburg pear 'cider' in the fridge, but it's basically fizzy pear juice and very sweet, so I might leave it until the next warm day - it's 19 degrees here, and I'm feeling chilly.

welbeck Tue 01-Jul-25 21:00:52

I'm drinking Turkish mineral water. Still.
I mean it's not carbonated.
And I'm still trying to drink enough.
Cheerio

Too sweet for my taste

Actually I think Prosecco is overhyped, I prefer Cava if I can’t have Champagne and in every case, has to be sec

I haven’t seen Bonnybanko for ages 🤷🏻‍♀️ Always so upbeat and cheerful.

She was on the Good Morning thread a couple of weeks ago under her original username multicolouredswopshop

Jolly good 👍 Thank you.

kittylester Tue 01-Jul-25 19:34:13

Was that because it wasn't a Thursday, jaxjacky?

Jaxjacky Tue 01-Jul-25 19:25:01

I’m drinking 0.5% lager shandy freezing cold. I’ve yet to find a palatable alcohol free, still white wine. At quiz last night it was a pint of lime and soda, MrJ was blackcurrant and soda, loads of ice.

Iam64 Tue 01-Jul-25 19:01:45

I don’t like non alcoholic wines but, I had a good alcohol free gin with tonic recently

Whitewavemark2 Tue 01-Jul-25 18:32:38

Oh yes I see what you mean, and I agree.

I’m always surprised when people say they ‘cried with laughter’ at some threads. I used to smile or maybe even chuckle a bit at some of the threads mentioned, but - seriously - crying? I guess humour is a very personal thing.

Don’t you ever cry so much that you can hardly catch your breath and your eyes run?

I was in that sort of state a lot this past week, enjoying some love.y company.

Yes, there are times when I cry with laughter, but rarely on GN threads.

My daughter-in-law and I enjoyed this on Sunday 🥂
There's a rosé one in my basket for next weekend.

PS Nozecco is foul!
Better to drink something like Elderflower Pressé I think.

It isn't foul, when used to make a non alcoholic cocktail.
Each to their own.

merlotgran Tue 01-Jul-25 17:50:44

Thanks, Doodledog but I’m in the same camp as Maw with this one.
If I can’t have the real thing I go for a refreshing soft drink or make one of my own like apple juice and tonic.

^Can you get non alcoholic wine?^

Yes, it’s disgusting! 😩

It can be, but a brand called Bon Voyage isn't bad. I stopped drinking the real thing (other than the very occasional glass) years ago, and keep the pretend stuff in for drivers and for me to drink to keep friends company when they have actual wine. I've tried many different ones, and find the fizz is usually better than the flat, but Bon Voyage is very drinkable. To be fair, maybe I wouldn't think so if I drank the real thing more often, but I've all but forgotten what it tastes like now, so I enjoy it. You can get it on Amazon, and it's not expensive.
