Grumpiness!!

If people can grump, or have a go at someone they do. This was never the case in earlier times.

I’m not talking about the N&P threads because they are different, I am talking about what May start off as cheerful, jolly, fellow man well met sort of threads which descend almost immediately into grump, grump moan, moan, criticise, criticise, argue, argue.

Sad isn’t it?

The Argy struggled after some posters left or turned to other things, but the rot had set in when it was being castigated on a nightly basis for misogyny, obscenity, no doubt frivolity

Oh the embarrassment! Misandry of course blushblush

Seriously?

To which part?

Galaxy Tue 01-Jul-25 17:34:38

Yes it is. I have found a number of non alcoholic lagers which I like but the wine is awful.

kittylester Tue 01-Jul-25 17:34:09

But, it's Thursday!

This is from the horse’s ( Rosesarered) mouth.
You are perfectly correct. She sent me the copies of PMs going between 4 members as to how they were going to gang up on her. Only problem was, they linked Rosesarered in the PMs.

That's awful behaviour. I hope the culprits were banned.

Whitewavemark2 I put on 4lb on holiday, I am just working harder at the gym, and will worry about it in the autumn.

merlotgran Tue 01-Jul-25 17:33:15

Can you get non alcoholic wine?

Yes, it’s disgusting! 😩

Whitewavemark2 Tue 01-Jul-25 17:31:36

It is a real pain, as I bought some Sancerre in France last week on holiday, which I love.

I also ate my way through delicious food - then got onto the scales when I got home this morning.

😮😮😮😮

That is it!!! I now have to do some serious weight loss.
So no wine for me

I drink non alcoholic wine on Monday, Tuesday and Wednssday but, when I messaged my friend to ask what day it is, she told me it's Thursday. So, I am opening Moscato.

As a rule I do not drink alcohol Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.

July is my birthday month so anything goes 🥂💃

At 6pm I shall have a glass of chilled Whispering Angel with plenty of ice (DH shall be rolling his eyes as he thinks ice in any wine is sacrilege)

You can get non alcoholic prosecco ( Nozecco) and none alcoholic gin!

Thank you. I will try the prosecco.

Sadly I can't tolerate alcohol any more. I have been enjoying some non alcoholic beer this week though.

Can you get non alcoholic wine?

I’m always surprised when people say they ‘cried with laughter’ at some threads. I used to smile or maybe even chuckle a bit at some of the threads mentioned, but - seriously - crying? I guess humour is a very personal thing.

Don’t you ever cry so much that you can hardly catch your breath and your eyes run?

I was in that sort of state a lot this past week, enjoying some love.y company.

I can offer a nice chilled Moscato! In fact......

Ooh I love Muscato! In fact I’m only waiting for wine time to open a bottle…

GrannyGravy13 Tue 01-Jul-25 16:09:55

July is my birthday month, no way will it ever be dry!

(The only time I have done dry July was when pregnant)

Allira Tue 01-Jul-25 16:04:10

She's compromised. Not on a school night 😁 but DGD has broken up from college, don't tell DD.
I told her I did dry January and Christmas is in December in the Northern Hemisphere.

Iam64 Tue 01-Jul-25 15:57:25

Oh no Allira - dry July - why
Daughter can crack on with this but at our age 🍷🍾

Allira Tue 01-Jul-25 15:55:14

Well, DD, who is staying with us, suggested Dry July.

Thinking about it 🤔

Beechnut Tue 01-Jul-25 15:52:40

It’s lovely here sitting in front of the fan, people watching and enjoying drinking a G&T.

I think the content of the threads on gransnet reflect the prevailing zeitgeist. The world is more miserable generally with very black and white arguments. Wars are prolific, the cost of living keeps rising astronomically and people are anxious about the future. There seems less give and take and social media doesn't help

Even more reason to keep our spirits up!!

Yes indeedy to spirits being kept up. I’d have a GAnd T if the argy bar was still open. As it isn’t, I’ll stay with the power of positive thinking 🧘🧘‍♀️🌞🌞💖
Oooooommmmm
