Good morning from coastal West Sussex, where the sky is very blue but the breeze feels cool.

We have our new gas boiler installed and currently being tested out. Yesterday was a nightmare of non-communication with energy provider as the meter was not working. They wouldn’t speak to me as I am not the account holder, even though I could give them all the information they needed. DH had gone to his volunteering and was not responding to my messages. I managed to track him down eventually. He gave them the same information as I did but obviously a male voice was the secret (or maybe they needed the call to be from his phone?). An engineer would be sent out - he came about 7pm by which time our gas engineer had gone home. All sorted ready for today. Hope no more hitches.

I’m still following doctor’s advice and drinking lots of water. I am feeling better but not convinced “symptom management” is the appropriate response! I have a telephone appointment tomorrow with a ‘physician associate’ to review the situation. We are off out for a walk shortly, I will read all your news later.

Not sure what I’m doing today. Maybe baking, reading or watching tennis with OH. He’s got to visit his bees at some point. One of his hives has produced a load of honey.

A fairly late Good Morning from Pembrokeshireshire where the sun is shining.
Yesterday we visited Porthgain, a small seaside village with an interesting history.
It’s our 49th wedding anniversary today and I am treating DH to a steam train ride with a cream tea included.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 🌞Northampton, thankfully much cooler.temperatures. We had rain yesterday but only really a thimbleful, so it didn't do a lot of good.

Had a lovely time viewing the renovations a ballet friend (and her husband) had made to their bungalow; they have made it open plan, had a big extension, and now they have an amazing kitchen plus large living area with huge bi-fold doors onto the garden.
She put on a.delicious spread of scones, clotted cream, fresh mixed berries and several other lovely cakes. About 8 of us were there and we had a lovely couple of hours of chat in good company.

Got home to brilliant sunshine and comfortable temperatures, so set to and weeded the block paving on the.drive. Then spent an hour or two tidying the back garden, cutting back loads of dead twigs/foliage on plants, topping up pots with compost, feeding and watering.

I then got my book and sat out and read till it was time to prepare dinner.

No plans for today except to hang some washing out and deal with a Sainsbury's delivery late morning. Then will sit out reading again.

Oh merlotgran Aubergine Parmigiana is one of my favourite Italian dishes of all time.

A visit this morning from the local company who installed our new windows six or seven years ago to look at the garden room doors and windows. If affordable it would be sensible to upgrade the thirty year old glazing, the only thing we haven’t done. We’ll see, but no point in money sitting in the bank if it can be spent on keeping the house in good order. No other plans today apart from ruthless clothes sorting - I have too many I don’t or can’t wear.

Morning, everyone from South Hants where there’s not a cloud in the sky. Hopefully it won’t be as hot on the allotment this morning as it was on Tuesday!
Had a lovely time with DD and DGD1 when they came round to dinner last night. I do love cooking for people so I was pleased when they polished off the aubergine parmigiana and rhubarb pudding!
Another busy day awaits. I hope my energy levels don’t slump until well into the afternoon.

A quiet morning planned🤞🏻and then a busy afternoon.My lovely neighbour has just returned from six months in her home town in Turkey and has invited me for coffee and catch up this afternoon.Their baby was tiny when they left and now cruising around.Late afternoon I have an appointment at the eye clinic.

My meds review yesterday was good news, cut down the dosage of one of the BP meds as reading are much healthier now. Hairdressers this afternoon hoping I don’t get caught in predicted showers. Finally a Waitrose shop before I head home.

I might try to get to the garden centre later to get compost for potting on pansies I've grown from seed.

I need to finish the last making up of a jacket I've knitted for one of DS's friend's baby.

We've managed to book a decorator for the dining room. He's coming in August which will impact on my caravan time but the room desperately needs doing.

I love reading what you're all up to. Life brings different challenges for us all but a sense of community is a great comfort blanket.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a Carlisle of sun and cloud. Currently, the clouds are winning out and threatening a shower.
I went into town yesterday to get fresh veg and fruit in M&S. I thought I'd try one of those strawberry sandwiches there have been conflicting opinions about. The strawberries were luscious, the overall experience I'd describe as 'pleasant'. I won't be repeating it though, I prefer my strawberries naked with a sprinkling of sugar and I'm trying to avoid refined carbs.
I gifted the charity bookshop with another bag of books, I'm hoping to empty another bookshelf but it won't be easy. At least I came out of the shop without buying another, unlike the shortcut through M&S where I managed to buy 2 not needed T shirts to add to my collection.

Back home to not much. It was generally showery so I just got on with sorting and reviewing my paperwork and files. A little was got rid of but won't make much difference to my heirs!

Today, the ironing and then I hope to feed the lawn now it's nice and damp. Later, reading and more file sorting, I've got a fireproof safe for my precious documents. In these suspicious days I think it would be difficult to prove who you are if you lost them all.

On Tuesday night, I couldn’t sleep, had all the windows open and no bed covers on.
Last night, I woke up cold and had to put my bed socks on.😵‍💫.
Crazy weather!

Today I’ll go to bowls as ive only been once this last 3 months.
I’ll pay my dues and enjoy seeing everyone again.

Good morning from a wet Glasgow, where it is only 8 °C.

Yesterday did not go as planned. I got to the hairdresser to find that my usual sylist was on long term sick leave.
Her life is basically,ly a car crash, mainly due to the behaviour of her husband, who is now in jail.
You couldn't make up, the things which have been going on.
All I wanted was a quick tidy up and a blow dry, but two hours later I was still there.
The owner eventually cut my hair ( I usually try to avoid her) and a very inexperienced junior dried it. I am quite disappointed with the result. 😪

I collected my controlled drug script and dropped the script off at the pharmacy, to be told that it was temporarily unavailable. The pharmacist offered to phone my surgery to request a script for a replacement drug. Then he realised my surgery wasn't a local one and I would need to do it myself.
Cue a battle with a stroppy receptionist, who failed to understand exactly why I need a replacement and why it was urgent. 😡 Matters were compounded by the fact that I have no voice at the moment.

Today we have BabyD, also Dollie and her parents arrive back from Malta today, so I need to leave provisions for them. Dollie will be raging, DD has placed a framed photo of DD and SIL winning the family football tournament recently, in Dollie's bedroom . Dollie was not happy to lose and DD is enjoying her annoyance.
I noticed the same photo has been put in our conservatory to annoy Dollie even more.
I am not giving DD the satisfaction of knowing I have seen it. She will be itching to ask.😉
She often adds random photos of herself and removes ones of her siblings to prove that she is the favourite child! 🤣

I am looking forward to seeing BabyD's face, when she realises her high chair is missing. She does not like change! She was sitting in it on the decking the other day, when we were party to a performance, only rivalled by Houdini. 😱
It is no longer safe to have her sitting in it and my heart cannot cope with the anxiety.

Finally, the curate is returning from Lourdes today and has forgotten his keys. The P.P is in the USA and therefore he is locked out. I will track his flight and let him in!
I shall be banking this favour.
He used to think I was an interfering old busybody, who hangs about the sacristy, he may have changed his opinion, now that I have averted chos on more than one occasion recently.😉
I think he may have realised in the P.P.'s absence, how much I do quietly behind the scenes.

I have managed to fill seven bags for the charity shop, with clothes I haven't worn for years, but could not bear to part with.
I have been quite ruthless
Once I DH gets them downstairs, the guest room will be habitable once more.
My plan is now to tackle the shoe collection. Imelda Marcus, would have been envious.🤣

Morning Mick, morning All from a cool, sunny corner of Somerset.

We stayed home yesterday. Mr C pottered and was unusually sensible managing his painful foot. It is a whole lot better. Messages came thick and fast from two distressed women, both the age of our sons and more than worried about their mothers. Distance precludes simply offering a hug, all I can do is listen. Both older women are dear, long standing friends. A quiet hour in the garden helped, as did tea and cake.

We’re meeting good friends today. Changed the location to better suit Mr C, aka Hopalong, to a still an interesting one with excellent cafe access when a sit down is needed. We’re both looking forward to it. I foresee more cake .
