It was Jurrasic Park. Unfortunately we sat next to some selfish young girls who didn't shush the whole film. It spoiled it a little. A later showing next time I think.

Crossstitchfan Sat 05-Jul-25 17:26:24

You could be right, Grammaretto, but it sure as heck confuses me!!

Grammaretto Sat 05-Jul-25 17:03:15

Hello Claregreybear! Nice to see you. What was the film?

Crosstitchfan, I used to wonder that but I think some early posters look at the previous day's thread and comment on that.

Greyduster Sat 05-Jul-25 15:37:36

Hello and welcome, Claregreybear!

Greyduster Sat 05-Jul-25 15:36:33

Beechnut I have so many lovely memories of Little Haven - it was our go to destination for years.

Good morning. Or just afternoon. I usually just lurk, but felt like saying hello today. DH and I are off to the cinema this afternoon and this morning we rearranged the bedroom to a more pleasing set out. Im expecting aching muscles tomorrow from moving furniture. I hope you all have a lovely day.

Thank you Crossstichfan!
Here’s another from this morning (not a self portrait 😁)

That’s very unusual, and very clever of you., I must say, I am relieved it’s not a self portrait though!

Crossstitchfan Sat 05-Jul-25 11:01:44

Is it me?? Someone might post something which refers to someone’s earlier comment, but when I scroll back, I can never find the comment they are talking about! I must be doing something wrong but can’t see what!

Good Morning from the East Midlands, its overcast and gloomy here, both outside and inside!!
Big argument with DH about the rubbish he watches on his TV.
I know it none of my business but I'm appalled by some the dross I hear coming from "His Room" in the evenings. He watches Ramsey's Kitchen & other horrible, mean confrontational stuff like that
What possible pleasure can people get from watching others being humiliated & bullied?
I think I want a divorce but is it too late? 🤔

Good morning from a mixed up weather wise northwest coast.
Roadworks yesterday and had to take a circuitous route to the charity shop with my decluttering bags. Then to the village with gold necklace chain for new clasp. More expensive than I bargained for, but it is gold. FaceTime with DD in the south who is off to a wedding today and booked a ticket for concert tomorrow.

Quiet day today, housework and a practice of songs. Hope you feel better soon Bella, hope the chemo treatment goes well for FGT himself and thoughts to all🌺
Card I drew.

Beautiful card! You are very talented (as are a great number of us Gransnetters!)

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Severnside.

Belated anniversary wishes ginny 🥂. I too have been in Pembrokeshire and arrived home yesterday. Lots of traffic on M4 probably going to see Oasis.

Good wishes to you all and I will go back to the top to catch up on your news.

Lucky you, being in Pembs, Beechnut. I love Little Haven, and Broadhaven and all the area surrounding them. I have always said that people lucky enough to live there have no need to go abroad!
I haven’t been back there for several years, since both my husband and I felt the 350 mile journey was too much for our advanced years. My husband has since died and I don’t feel up to going on my own, even if I went by train.
I miss it as I spent all my childhood holidays there with grandparents who lived in Solva, another beautiful place, and knew the area well. My granddad was a Western Welsh busdriver and when he was the driver for the mystery tours, he always took me with him, so I got to see a great deal of the county over the years.
Oh well, my happy memories will have to suffice!

I am very late this morning, but wishing everyone a good day from a cloudy and grey Northampton.

Yesterday was lovely and sunny and after dance classes and a coffee with a fellow dancer, spent the afternoon in the garden and finished my book club read. Started a new book, one that DS had given me for Mothering Sunday.

Am heading out shortly to do my top-up shop; I may also have a look in Matalan as I hear they have a sale on...

No other plans for today.

Bellasnana, hope the vet can sort out your little dog.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning from the sunny but cloudy midlands. A day out yesterday was cancelled because I had a banging headache. Must get blood pressure checked out.
Not doing much today but a bit of housework and finishing off a knitted sweater.
Hope your dog is ok Bella
Hugs to all. 🤗

Glammagran 😂 I can report that the sheets are back to white and unadorned!

Good Morning from a fine, sunny Durham. Still wild and windy - gale force yesterday, which blew all my heavy garden tubs over. Might actually leave them until wind drops.
I’m looking forward to a nothing day at home. Maybe sort out some of the DGSs books to donate and get the family room back to normal, after Monday’s carpet and sofa cleaning.

So sorry about your dog Bellas I hope the Vet has some ideas to help him.
Safe travels to those on the move.
💐Liberty
Take it easy MaryD.

Best wishes to all. X

glammagran, it's a red gurnard, which we see a lot of around our coast though never before in a rockpool!

GrannySomerset Sat 05-Jul-25 09:06:03

Yesterday’s concert went well and was enjoyable for performers and audience but I am surprised how washed out I feel this morning. It’s not the singing so much as the standing I think, but I am reluctant to stop doing it as I enjoy the weekly practices so much and like the group. Still, recovery today though I need a supermarket visit; at least now I have the car back I can please myself.

Good morning from a damp and overcast Wiltshire.

DGD3’s Sports Day was fun and chaotic. DGS2 desperately wanted to join in. He will get his chance in the coming school year when he starts school. DD1 is 51 today. I hope they aren’t rained on at Wimbledon.

Has anyone else noticed how many wasps there are around? I’ve NEVER noticed them as early as I have this year. I think they are going to be a real nuisance.

Mizuna I know very little about fish but when I saw your photo I did wonder if it could be a juvenile flying fish. I googled and they have been spotted in British waters. I’ve often seen them from cruise ships.

Grandmattie it must have been a difficult day for you yesterday.💐

Bellasnana I hope both you and your little dog feel better very soon. I don’t know how you manage so much childcare. It’s very tiring indeed.

Grandmabatty Those “decorated” bed sheets! I hope they wash up well. Sometimes I think only my DGS2 is naughty.

BlueSapphire I STILL haven’t done all my ironing from the cruise.

Congratulations to your DGD on her medical graduation Merlotgran.

Good morning everyone from cloudy wet Lancashire.

Yesterday’s telephone appointment with the GP surgery was very positive, an urgent prescription for antibiotics was issued and we picked them up from the pharmacy after our walk.

It was warm and sunny but the wind was very cold. We decided to cross the bridge and follow the woodland walk down the other side, where it’s more sheltered. As the lock gates were closed, and we were on a roll after the phone call, we decided to use the footbridge that runs along the top of the lock gates. It’s the first time I have tackled it since coming home from hospital, there’s a big step up to it and gaps between the planks that might catch the wheels of the walker. MrB took the walker across first and I used the handrail. I felt so good but am paying for it today grin.

I hope you and dog both feel better soon Bellasnana.

Good to see you Liberty flowers.

Thinking of our poorly Grans and families, as always.

Have the best day you can everyone 🌹

Good morning from a grey and windy North Wales.
Yesterday was a busy day, my neighbour's funeral was at 9am, the service lasted an hour.
DS and DIL arrived at 1pm and we loaded the car and went to collect GD from school and began our journey to Wales.
We arrived at our destination to be greeted with wet and windy weather, it was more like autumn than summer. We were unable to arrange a grocery delivery so had to do a supermarket shop. We eventually got to eat our evening meal at 10.30.
The view from my bedroom window is into a field of llamas, they are so cute.
Nothing planned yet for today, depends on weather.
Have a good weekend.
