Good morning Mick and all to follow from Shropshire. After yesterday mornings heavy rain back to the hot weather.

A long day ahead.Physio for DH first thing then driving over to Staffordshire to collect DGS1 from school later. We don’t see him as often because of distance but always have a lovely time☺️

Thinking of our absent friends and all struggling at the moment.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

Good morning from a grey Bristol. It seems that rain is falling everywhere but here!
I had a quiet day yesterday after church.
I condensed notes from our residents’ meeting, then printed out and delivered them to everyone so they could check the questions put to the area manager on Thursday. Naturally, one person said most points were irrelevant.! Rich coming from the same person who bangs on about things which have been done weeks ago and are of no interest today.
Tesco this morning, then marrow chutney and veg preparation for piccalilli. I’m running out, and it needs a minimum 6 weeks maturing.
I hope Bellasnana’s little dog is better, that everyone is safe , well and happy. Make that random act of kindness today.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Bellasnana Mon 07-Jul-25 05:46:37

Good morning from Malta where 38°C is the forecast high.

Thank you so much to all of you for your kind wishes for Buzz yesterday.

The treatment has helped but he is still a very poorly boy and I will take him to the vet at 8am for another day of hospital care.

The ultrasound specialist will be coming to see him so that should reveal what is going on with his liver.

I’m not looking forward to the results, it’s just so sad seeing him like this and not understanding what is happening to him.

After I drop him off, I am going to look after the boys as DD3 has a ‘team building exercise’ with her colleagues which, I suspect, is just a fancy name for going out on a boat for the day and having fun!

I feel emotionally drained at the moment so a day with the boys will do me good.

I got my cleaning and ironing done yesterday. I didn’t go to Mass as I’m still coughing and sniffling so did not want to share my germs with the congregation, many of whom are very elderly and frail.

grandMattie I don’t know how you do it all.💐

I had better get going, it’s going to be a long day……..

Hoping for a good day for you all.☀️

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire. A lovely sunrise this morning after all the welcome rain we had yesterday. The washing machine is on and I’m hoping to steal a march on the day shortly. I have to go out and change something I bought last week and then I must pay some serious attention to packing for my holiday on Friday. I have a list - somewhere. I think my plans to travel light will dissipate as the week goes on!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Kalu Mon 07-Jul-25 06:04:39

Good morning all. A sunny start in Glasgow today which hopefully will continue for the day.

Landscaping starts today which means no more peaceful days in the garden for quite a while. It will be worth it when finished.a GP appointment this afternoon for bloods check re change of BP meds.

Thank you for such lovely, very much appreciated messages of support yesterday. I was very touched by such thoughtfulness.

FGT should be joining us again this morning. Hoping she can.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant day.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and sunny. Bellasnana I hope it's good news after the scan for your Buzz. Susan enjoy the day with your dgs.
Yesterday I went to an art exhibition at my tutors house. I picked up my ds on the way. There were lots of paintings but they weren't to my taste apart from a nude drawing which I liked so I bought it. Ds and I then went to the café in the park for brunch. Later, once home, I did the cleaning I couldn't do on Saturday because of the water issue. I got an ironing done too.
Today is early childcare day. Dgs1 didn't want to go to soft play today so we'll go tomorrow. We might go to the park later. Their mum will pick them up at half five. Have a good day all

RosesandLilac Mon 07-Jul-25 06:07:24

Good morning from a slightly damp spot in south Glos, we did have one heavy downpour yesterday but could really do with much more!
I did my 10,000 steps before 9am yesterday, taking the dogs out separately. Bigger dog enjoyed chasing her ball around (with me doing the throwing and fetching bit), tiddler and I then walked the bridleway and across the fields. I certainly enjoyed my avocado on toast and coffee after that!
I did manage to do a bit of gardening before it rained and more afterwards. I have a small, very dry border that I added a bucket of compost too and planted some heat-loving plants. It gets baked so fingers crossed.
More of the same today I hope.
Fingers crossed for poor Buzz Bellasnana, it’s so upsetting when they’re poorly.
Hoping today goes well for you all 🌹

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset

Yesterdays few spots of rain did little good other than dampen the dust. In spite of regular watering some plants are struggling now.

No plans for today, see how it unfolds. As Mr C’s foot is very painful again he’s happy for a quiet time.

I’ll have everything crossed for Buzz, bellasnana.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a grey, wet Wales.
Yesterday I stayed put in the house, did not feel like walking two days in a row.
DS and DIL spent the afternoon at a castle, the three young ones went off to the cinema and I lay on the sofa with a novel.
GD1 cooked dinner, she is an excellent cook, everything from scratch.
GD2 and I watched Hamilton on TV, it was just 6 days since she had seen it live at the theatre.
Forecast is not great for today so I will be staying put, I did not
bring waterproof walking gear.
Have a good day.

grandMattie Mon 07-Jul-25 06:16:53

kalu, about FGT’s return, is that right? Did she just have a “short” ban? I thought it was forever.

Grammaretto Mon 07-Jul-25 06:19:46

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's dry.
Exercise class and household stuff today.
I've plans to host a party next Saturday. It would be nice for it to be in the garden but not sure the
weather can be trusted or the seagulls.

I hope your Buzz continues to get better Bella. You are doing too much you know and need a good rest to recover.

How exciting Kalu to have landscaping done. I hope you will enjoy the results.

More tennis today. Will my heart cope!

Look forward to "seeing" FGT again.
Have the best day possible, everyone.

glammagran Mon 07-Jul-25 06:20:10

Good morning from a rather damp Wiltshire. We sure needed some rain.

Yesterday we drove down to the park in town waiting for the red arrows flypast who we were tracking on flight radar 24. Then out of nowhere came heavy rain and thunder, the first for quite some time. They then deviated to avoid the weather and flew over Compton Basset so we missed them. But when we went home we booked tickets to attend RIAT in a couple of weeks at Fairford.

DD1 kept me so well informed on Saturday on her birthday treat to Wimbledon I felt I was there with her. Got loads of photos from her. I think she’s coming over later in the week for a visit. School pickup for DGD3 later.

I very much hope you have a successful outcome for your little dog Bellasnana 💐

Have a good Monday everyone.

Kalu Mon 07-Jul-25 06:41:04

FGT was given a double suspension not a ban GM

Ashcombe Mon 07-Jul-25 06:42:13

Good morning from a brightening day after overnight rain, following a day of intermittent showers yesterday.

After church, we had a quiet day indoors, completing domestic tasks like bed changing and washing.

Thinking about those with cares and worries, especially FGT2, MD and Bellasnana. It sounds like Buzz is receiving excellent care, poor boy.

I’m preparing my car for a trip to France in a few days. The MOT has been done ahead of its due date along with a service and all was well. Today I will have the tyres checked; they are nitrogen filled so ATS kindly check them for me when necessary without charge although I do tip the mechanic.

I hope today is the start of a good week for you, if possible. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

ginny Mon 07-Jul-25 06:53:02

Good morning from just above Kennack Sands in Cornwall. The sun is making a valiant effort, hope it wins.

We and our friends made a rough itinerary for the week, which is flexible So today we will be visiting Coverack and making a call at Roskillys farm for some of their delicious ice cream.

Wishing you all a good day with a smile along the way.

Feelingmyage55 Mon 07-Jul-25 06:58:12

Good morning from a sunny north of Scotland. The schools are out and the tourists have descended. My favourite coffee shops will be very busy so I am off out for an early walk with my flask, return and hang out the washing, vacuum, then enjoy the tennis.
Poor Buzz Bella. The heat can’t help.
Best wishes to all.

Mizuna Mon 07-Jul-25 07:00:03

Good morning from a sunny but not over-warm Cornwall. Enjoy this lovely county ginny! Yesterday I watched tennis for most of the afternoon and evening after a really nice lunch in Wetherspoons.

This morning I'm off to the dentist, which I don't mind, then I'm helping a young artist, who I mentored when she was a teenager, to set up her first exhibition. I remember how exciting it was for me when I started out and am so chuffed to be able to help her.

The pic is a baby robin who spends ages near me at the allotment.

karmalady Mon 07-Jul-25 07:01:57

Good morning from s somerset, sunny and pleasant today,1,2mm of rain fell from midnight.

Craft group this afternoon, I barely do anything, not enjoying knitting during summer and don`t do any other portable craft. I take socks but secretly only go for the chat and to keep in touch with the many old ladies, they have such witty cheery positive mindsets, inspirational people and some are 15 years older than me

I did a lot yesterday, at long last am making good progress in modifying my paper stash in my sewing room. AO size, patterns cutting lots of them to my size and filing in special envelopes with a diagram and summary on the front. I now have an enormous pile of paper waste, too much for the pick-up recycling tomorrow. I will need also to take a car ride to the recycling centre this week. I love it when my scissors reach that sweet spot, when they zip along without me having to move my fingers, saves a lot of stiffness afterwards

I like to do this sort of work during summer, it is not a job I enjoy during winter when I hibernate. Paper is so heavy and there is so much waste when patterns are printed on AO. Much better to print the actual size on A4 but that involves much cutting of edges and sticking but overall A4 is the easier option

More of the same later and some sewing this evening. Garden is managing and my tiny veg plot at home is being very productive. I want to go and plant my few winter brassicas on my allotment but need to choose my time, no point while we have this constant dry hot weather here in s somerset

Nice to have both dds back home safely and in the medals from their strenuous events at the weekend, one cycling, one cross country. My ds has been camping at a small festival, he has a lovely life with his female partner. They chose not to have children and are always out and about in Scotland, where they live. They biggest gift I give to them is not to worry about me

Have a good day and I do hope we see FGT posting soon again,I would not be surprised though if she left of her own accord later, GN does not treat the good posters kindly, tbh does not deserve them

Have a good day

Shez1955 Mon 07-Jul-25 07:06:26

Good morning all from a grey Hedge End near Southampton. I hope Bella’s dog gets better. My companion is a Pomchi and we have my daughter’s Cockerpoo today whilst she’s at work.

I hope you all have a good day 😊

luluaugust Mon 07-Jul-25 07:08:39

Good morning from a wet W Kent. My cleaner should be here this morning, her poor dog was attacked some weeks ago and is taking a long time to heal so I am not sure if she will come today.
This afternoon we are visiting a local village for a talk on its history
I hope there is good news on Buzz
Best wishes to all

GrannyGravy13 Mon 07-Jul-25 07:25:10

Good morning from an overcast S E Essex, we had a downpour around 5.30am, I think that’s our rain for the day.

Off to the gym first thing, then I have some washing and bits and bobs to sort out.

FGT2 is waiting to hear from GNHQ as to whether she is allowed back today, fingers crossed the answer is yes.

Everything crossed for Buzz Bellasnanna

Did you watch the Grand Prix Mick ? Brilliant result for McClaren and Lando.

grandMattie Mon 07-Jul-25 07:27:15

Couldn’t you shred then compost the paper, kalu?

BlueSapphire Mon 07-Jul-25 07:30:17

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton, but it's supposed to clear up later.

I did not get to DD's band in the park yesterday, as terrific thunderstorms happened here; had I ventured out I would have been drenched. But the band still played, and it cleared up nicely for them, and they finished the afternoon in sunshine. I was so disappointed 😞 to miss it.
I spent the afternoon watching the remaining three episodes of 'Emma '.

Yoga this morning then coffee afterwards in the little cafe round the corner. Will clean the bathrooms when I get back, may put the towels in the washing machine, and may change the bedding.

Glammagran , we usually see the Red Arrows here on race day, as Silverstone is only about 10 miles from us, and they were due to fly over after their display, but must have diverted yesterday due to the storms.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

kittylester Mon 07-Jul-25 07:31:15

Good morning all from a damp but brightening North Leicestershire.

I may have a singing lesson today - my singing teacher has an assignment to finish first.

Otherwise, I will probably while away a good amount of time watching the baby blue tits on the feeders and the bees on the bottom border.
