Yesterday we had sudden thunder and heavy rain for ten minutes, that was it, not enough, we need at least 48 hours, instead we’ve more heat on the horizon.
Voluntary phone today, some dust wafting, floor washing and quiz tonight.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, lovely blue sky here👏
Granddog still sleeping peacefully at the bottom of my bed. Nearing the end of her three week stay and I am feeling a little tired although she is a great wee soul. I didn’t make mass yesterday because the twenty minute walk uphill felt just too much after her walk. Last week I took her with me to evening mass and she was made very welcome but I thought I might be pushing my luck to do it twice!
I contented myself with online mass at my favourite parish in Maryhill in Glasgow.

I hope you get better news about Buzz Bella

One set of holiday makers are home from Cornwall where they have had a lovely holiday. They stayed a few days in Bath on the way home, they love visiting there.
An unexpected FaceTime call yesterday from other set of holiday makers in California, they are also having a wonderful time. They were heading for a few days camping in the Sequoia National Park so all I have to worry about now is bears😳

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast. Carried on yesterday with my acrylic ‘cloud’ painting, a little time in the garden and in the evening to see friend sing her choir concert. Had to follow my satnag, but no problems and I always sing my scales in the car, killing two birds with one stone.
It was a good turnout, a nice programme and really enjoyed seeing more old friends from the opera company I’m hoping to return to after the summer break.

More painting/singing today. I hover between the two, but have sung so much, I think the painting comes first.

Belated condolences to Liberty, thoughts to Kalu, hope your dear dog improves Bella and looking forward to an update from the FGTs🌺

Good morning all and it’s still drizzling a bit here in Essex.
When I walked the little dog yesterday , it drizzled on us and it was beautiful!

I’ve just ordered another fan for the next heatwave. The last one was noisy and useless. I had to pay p and p to return it! 😡.

We spent the morning with my lovely brother and his lovely wife, in their garden which is like a mini park. Not so mini really with huge trees which we sheltered under. So cool and refreshing. I love their company and must see them more often. 💕.

Dd is back from our seaside cottage and had a great time with DGD and friends. She’s washed all the sheets and left them in the summerhouse to dry and air. They’ll be stiff as boards when we return , I’m not sure when. 🤣

Today I’ll go to the U3A meeting. A speaker in ‘Seasides’. I’m not keen as the speakers are usually not very good and also go on for too long. However my friend wants to take her mind off her impending eye appointment this evening, as she thinks they will tell her not to drive 😢, so we’ll go along and hope for the best. I’ll have a cuppa with her when I drop her home.

I hope the vets can ease Buzz’s discomfort and find the problem and cure it, Bella 🙏.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

We had a lovely day yesterday with elder son and granddaughter. They’ve gone back to Kew but son is back tonight. He has insisted on driving us to Heathrow tomorrow morning for our flight. We are off on a river cruise to Switzerland and Germany.

Our cleaner should be here later. I like leaving the house spik and span before we go away. I will do a small shop, and leave a key with my neighbour who will be feeding the cats and finally pack.

My Royal Academy print should be delivered today. If not, my neighbour can keep an eye open for it.

We haven’t heard from the potter yet about our efforts. Hopefully everything fired ok. I emailed her the other day.

It will be good to see FGT2 posting again.

I hope Buzz has a good day.

Good morning from a grey, breezy Durham, brightening up now. DGS2 was a delight yesterday, but a problem with the dishwasher late last night means the kitchen is now a tip!
My security alarm went off at 3:10am! I couldn’t see anything, but think a spider in the kitchen crawled across the sensor. I couldn’t settle afterwards, but must’ve dropped off in a strange position as my right shoulder is very stiff.
I hope you get a diagnosis for Buzz today Bellas

Good morning everyone from Cambridgeshire. Rain has just stopped and the sun is breaking through. DH is out all day today. I plan to continue to declutter our home office and start sorting out my granddaughter’s bedroom ready for decorating. A friend is popping by at lunchtime and then it is pick up Dgd2 from ballet class later. I am looking forward to mainly a day to myself.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle, a blue sky at last!
Yesterday was another grey, cool and showery day especially in the afternoon. I went to the big garden centre north of the city. Coffee first amongst the many folk out for breakfast, I'd had mine hours before! Then I had a mooch round the store and treated myself to some Scottish heather honey from the hills of Argyll, love heather honey but it's expensive stuff. I bought 2 shrubs to fill vacant spots and a blackberry bush to replace my feeble redcurrant one, I'm fed up with the yearly battle with sawfly on it. It's a good time for visiting the garden centre with quite a few things being marked down as the growing season comes to a close.
In the afternoon, I planted the smaller items, interrupted by a vicious shower where I paused for coffee. The rest of the day was spent reading mostly and watching a film in the evening.

Today, the usual round of routine housework then I have a hearing test after lunch. The biggest challenge will be parking at the hospital. Then I have to collect a prescription in town.

I pottered around the house yesterday, tidying various areas which pleased me.

One of the GC had given me a pile of badges to be sewn onto her Brownie top so I made a start on that and will do a couple more this evening.

Today will be much the same although I may be able to be outside which would be nice.

Good morning all! Gosh, there are quite a few early risers this morning!

Thus talk of BP has reminded me. I must check mine. I gave up checking it, because it was consistently, extremely high and I was becoming obsessed with trying to get it down!
However, my heart and COPD checks are overdue, so I need to be able to truthfully say I have checked it.😉

Yesterday's day of doing little did not transpire. Initially, I just floated about, then the curate appeared,
The church was full to the gunnels (at least 500 people (including badly behaved and indulged weans) and I asked how we were going to manage Communion for the those, who could not manage to come to the altar.
He was very dismissive of my suggestions, unfortunately I still cannot hear very well and he was becoming increasingly ratty with me.
I was vindicated, when his suggestion caused chaos. I think next week, we will revert to our usual protocol. 😉

At the end of Mass, I went to do a check of the church, as I always do. I met the Chief Sacristan coming towards me. The floor in the toilet is wet, MD^.
I assumed it had just been children skidding about in the sink.
As I got near the toilet, I noticed a trail of wet footprints going down the church. On opening the door, I was met with a flood! I was ankle deep in water! 😱
I went for a bucket and mop, but the water level wasn't going down. I couldn't understand why.
At that point, much to my surprise, the curate appeared and took over to give me a break.
I paddled through the water to find the source of the leak,
and saw water pouring out of the hidden u bend in the toilet.
On locating the stopcock, I discovered it needed a screwdriver to turn it off, but was a fair bit away from the sacristy. 😭
Fortunately, a kind parishioner, who often supports me, came to help and turn off the water. However, the water kept coming, until I realised that we had to wait until the water level dropped beneath the hole in the pipe.
It took me an hour to dry off the floor. What annoyed me was the the Chief Sacristan, after alerting me, had gone home, without offering any help. He does not get his hands dirty and is afraid of his wife, who stands, arms folded and feet tapping, waiting for him at the end of Mass. 🤬
Unbelievably, people attending a baptism, were demanding to use the toilet. It would have meant paddling through the water!
Fortunately, there is another toilet at the other end of the church, but they were reluctant, that would have meant walking to it!

Later I got a message from the kind parishioner, who had gone back down to check. He ended up taking off the pipe and removing the toilet. It turned out that the drains were backed up, all the way to the outside drains.🤮
I suspect it is going to be a major problem, for the drains on the other side of the church are causing problems. It is going to be an expensive repair.

This morning I will need to go down and disinfect the mops and buckets, I was just too tired yesterday.

Can you please explain what a double suspension is Kalu. I have never heard that term before.

Good morning everyone from a cool, wet mid Essex. Yesterday we had a few heavy showers and it’s been raining for a while this morning. It will save me from watering the garden tonight, thank goodness. Yesterday I kept busy all day with little tasks, nothing major but quite satisfying.
bellasnana I hope poor Buzz improves soon and that you soon feel better.

I’m meeting a friend for coffee at Hyde Hall gardens this morning, there will be a lot of talking but not much walking round the gardens. Always a visit to the shop and (in my case) a lot of money spent!!

Morning! Hope everyone is well. Today will be a quiet one for me, I've got a load of laundry on and I will be able to hang that out if the rain stays off. I have a little bit of tidying to do but nothing drastic. I have a jigsaw to start and some reading i think. Should be a nice day.

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton, but it's supposed to clear up later.

I did not get to DD's band in the park yesterday, as terrific thunderstorms happened here; had I ventured out I would have been drenched. But the band still played, and it cleared up nicely for them, and they finished the afternoon in sunshine. I was so disappointed 😞 to miss it.
I spent the afternoon watching the remaining three episodes of 'Emma '.

Yoga this morning then coffee afterwards in the little cafe round the corner. Will clean the bathrooms when I get back, may put the towels in the washing machine, and may change the bedding.

Glammagran , we usually see the Red Arrows here on race day, as Silverstone is only about 10 miles from us, and they were due to fly over after their display, but must have diverted yesterday due to the storms.

Off to the gym first thing, then I have some washing and bits and bobs to sort out.

FGT2 is waiting to hear from GNHQ as to whether she is allowed back today, fingers crossed the answer is yes.

Good morning from s somerset, sunny and pleasant today,1,2mm of rain fell from midnight.

Craft group this afternoon, I barely do anything, not enjoying knitting during summer and don`t do any other portable craft. I take socks but secretly only go for the chat and to keep in touch with the many old ladies, they have such witty cheery positive mindsets, inspirational people and some are 15 years older than me

I did a lot yesterday, at long last am making good progress in modifying my paper stash in my sewing room. AO size, patterns cutting lots of them to my size and filing in special envelopes with a diagram and summary on the front. I now have an enormous pile of paper waste, too much for the pick-up recycling tomorrow. I will need also to take a car ride to the recycling centre this week. I love it when my scissors reach that sweet spot, when they zip along without me having to move my fingers, saves a lot of stiffness afterwards

I like to do this sort of work during summer, it is not a job I enjoy during winter when I hibernate. Paper is so heavy and there is so much waste when patterns are printed on AO. Much better to print the actual size on A4 but that involves much cutting of edges and sticking but overall A4 is the easier option

More of the same later and some sewing this evening. Garden is managing and my tiny veg plot at home is being very productive. I want to go and plant my few winter brassicas on my allotment but need to choose my time, no point while we have this constant dry hot weather here in s somerset

Nice to have both dds back home safely and in the medals from their strenuous events at the weekend, one cycling, one cross country. My ds has been camping at a small festival, he has a lovely life with his female partner. They chose not to have children and are always out and about in Scotland, where they live. They biggest gift I give to them is not to worry about me

Good morning from a sunny but not over-warm Cornwall. Enjoy this lovely county ginny! Yesterday I watched tennis for most of the afternoon and evening after a really nice lunch in Wetherspoons.

This morning I'm off to the dentist, which I don't mind, then I'm helping a young artist, who I mentored when she was a teenager, to set up her first exhibition. I remember how exciting it was for me when I started out and am so chuffed to be able to help her.

Good morning from a sunny north of Scotland. The schools are out and the tourists have descended. My favourite coffee shops will be very busy so I am off out for an early walk with my flask, return and hang out the washing, vacuum, then enjoy the tennis.

We and our friends made a rough itinerary for the week, which is flexible So today we will be visiting Coverack and making a call at Roskillys farm for some of their delicious ice cream.

Good morning from a brightening day after overnight rain, following a day of intermittent showers yesterday.

After church, we had a quiet day indoors, completing domestic tasks like bed changing and washing.

Thinking about those with cares and worries, especially FGT2, MD and Bellasnana. It sounds like Buzz is receiving excellent care, poor boy.

I’m preparing my car for a trip to France in a few days. The MOT has been done ahead of its due date along with a service and all was well. Today I will have the tyres checked; they are nitrogen filled so ATS kindly check them for me when necessary without charge although I do tip the mechanic.

I hope today is the start of a good week for you, if possible. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
