Candlewick bedspread

I can’t remember us ever having candlewick, but I do remember a sort of satiny type of material in green as a throw and on top of that was an eiderdown in the same material.

After that we (sisters) had some brightly coloured blankets as throws. Bedspreads they were called.

Try looking for chenille bedspread or coverlet. I think that's what we called them. And when making the bed, you covered the pillow and made a nice karate chop to tuck the bedspread neatly under the pillow. My sister and I had pink ones, and do you remember the stuffed animals with a zipper to hold your nightie? Mine was a poodle.

I remember them too, I don't have them now but what I do have looks very similar, I bought 2 throws from Dunelm they cost about £16 have them in different colours and fits a double bed.

I love them. I would stay weekends with my grandparents and they had gorgeous ones on my bed. Happy memories.

I remember them well and loved them. I’m sure I still have one somewhere - couldn’t bear to throw it away ..

There are lots available on eBay - different colours too.

Who remembers?
I have just had a notion to get one for my daughter who loves vintage.
I am looking online for a white one
