Same here.. Portsmouth recently had an incident regarding a Woman and a Registered Wolverhampton cab driver . It's now made the council sit up and look at there procedures. Locals have asked for them to be band plus it's causing problems with local registered Cabs as they are swamping the area.
Taxis in this area are required apparently to have security Cameras fitted in their cab, apparently the out of area registered ones as part of the license don't need to have this.

All the Uber taxi drivers working in Lincoln seem to be registered in Wolverhampton. Drivers with longer established local companies are registered locally.

Why Wolverhampton?

My local taxi firm who I use once a week (Manchester) said the same but that Andy Burnham (Mayor) is looking at it.

I thought that, all the cars I have let out of the side streets, have been taxis. Some thank you, most don’t bother.
But my thoughts were, who the blinking heck can afford to be running about in all these taxis?

I have used taxis twice in the last few months[unusual for me]. I didnt think they were that expensive at all.

Cheaper than running a car, if you were to use them less than once a week.
