Good morning everyone from Inverness, we’re safely back home after a lovely relaxing holiday, just what we needed
A very Happy Birthday Ginny enjoy your day in the garden
I’ve all the usual holiday washing to do today so I’ll be busy doing that, a trip to Tesco and I’ll call round to DD2s later
I hope everyone is doing ok, I didn’t post whilst away but took a break from my iPad so I’ve lots of news to catch up on.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very rainy Carlisle. Yes, it's St Swithin's Day but I've never known 40 days of rain to happen thankfully!
I should have mowed the lawn at the weekend, I'd hoped to do it yesterday but the showers didn't clear up till late afternoon and I'm certainly not doing it today. A pity because the garden waste gets collected tomorrow.

I planned to go into town today on various errands but don't fancy walking around in the wet so it will be tomorrow when sun is supposed to appear. So it will be the ironing and some bathroom cleaning plus some holiday planning for when I visit Oz and NZ later this year.
In the afternoon, my latest book and some indoor exercise if it's still raining, a walk is probably not on.

And Happy Birthday Ginny...lovely lilies!

Morning Mick, morning All from a clouding corner of Somerset.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our tortoise speed shopping and time with our son and younger granddaughter yesterday. The latter is very anxious about the flight to Australia. Her Dad, famous for his ability to sleep propped up in a corner, just plans to sleep! Driving back through some torrential showers there was disappointment to see not a drop had fallen here.

Routine day ahead of grocery delivery and dust removal, enlivened by a hair trim in the middle.

A very happy birthday ginny 🎈🎂

Sounds an excellent holiday but yes, the younger ones forget we aren’t greyd. In your situation I’d be contemplating a strike day!

Have the best day you can everyone.

Morning Mick and all from a cooler and damp S Hants, we had an absolute cloudburst at 5:30 am, heavy rain and wind for all of five minutes, woke us up then disappeared.
Happy Birthday ginny 🎂🥂 enjoy your day.
Safe journey back llfl
Voluntary phone was quiet yesterday and I got to the library, five books should keep me quiet.
A few absences at quiz last night, holidays, one new team, we were doing so well…
POA’s part 2 today.

Good morning and it’s bright and sunny at the moment. I do hope the rain reaches us here in Essex. 🤞.

Happy birthday Ginny have a lovely day 🎈.

I hope the traffic isn’t too bad GG. School traffic should have cleared and the temporary lights in the high street have gone. There’s a sign at the Weir telling of huge works going on til March from I don’t know when, but I can’t read exactly what it says. Let me know if you can read it, please?

The breeze is getting up again, yesterday it was very windy. The dog loved running around the field after so many days of short pavement walks in the shade.

A friend has offered to take Dh fishing tomorrow but I don’t think he’s up to it. He hasn’t been ‘good’ these last few days. ☹️.

Bridge for me today.

Take care all 🌼

Mid-Lancs cooling down, gusty winds all round and much needed rain. At. Long. Last.

Good morning from the Essex coast.
It's sunny at the moment, I'm not sure it will last all day.
DH is moored up in a marina in Vlissingham, moving to Middleburg today.
A friend is coming for coffee this morning and we have an emergency committee meeting tonight at the club. All is not well there.
Happy Birthday to Ginny, enjoy your special day.
Best wishes to all xx

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Yesterday's rain was welcome. Its dry today.

Thanks Ekwanimity for pointing me to the Tours de France on TV.
My cousin and I sat and knitted and watched the French scenery!

We dismantled the gazebo and put my house back to normal after the party. Unfortunately, the bottle recycling wasn't lifted and I see it's now filled to overflowing from passers by. A drawback of living off the main road 😞

We're bussing into Edinburgh today to see an exhibition or two.

Happy birthday ginny 🎂 hope you have a special time.

At last Marydoll ! Some medical sanity in your treatment.

I hope today goes well for all.

Good morning, everyone from a gusty south coast. We’ve had a heavy burst of rain but I’m still going to the allotment to pick courgettes or they’ll soon be marrows!
Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, rain expected later, so may not get out on our health walk.

Not many plans for today, but I do need to vacuum the landing and the staircase.
I have some chicken left over from the crown I roasted on Sunday, so will make a stew with new potatoes, carrots and peas. I had a cold chicken sandwich for lunch yesterday, then with new potatoes for dinner.

Happy birthday 🎂 ginny. Enjoy your day at Coton Manor - DH and I were regular visitors with a season ticket, as it is only 20 minutes drive from me, but have only been a few times lately. They have a wonderful little cafe with freshly baked scones!

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Beechnut Tue 15-Jul-25 08:41:19

Good morning everyone. It’s raining. Yesterday I placed my various plastic trugs in the garden to catch any falling rain.

Wishing you a Happy Birthday ginny 🎂🎉

Good morning all from Puerto de Mogan where it's currently 21° and set to rise.
Out holiday is lovely except dd and I have succumbed to a virus. I spent most of yesterday in bed. Today I'm feeling a little better but not up for it day at the pool or the beach.
I didn't join the family for dinner last night but hoping to do so tonight. Puerto de Mogan is a really pretty resort, the people are delightful and everything shuts down at midnight so it's quiet. We aim to go for tapas tonight. Enjoy your day all

Good morning from a damp northwest coast. Enjoyable day yesterday on a coach trip to Derbyshire. It takes ages before we actually get going for the destination, picking up here and there. I think it was a Covid coach, there was so much dramatic coughing going on🙄. Then a massive shock halfway through the day, I hadn’t put my eyebrows on! Thankfully I had a black eye pencil in my bag. Before that I looked like a medieval painting…

I grabbed a couple of tarts in Bakewell and a good time was had by all. It’s a long day however and I have the music club this afternoon. I certainly don’t feel like practising and singing, but I think I’m on duty on the desk so have no choice.

Happy birthday ginny and I really fancy that train Ashcombe, I’m at my happiest whilst on the move🌺

Happy birthday Ginny

Georgesgran Tue 15-Jul-25 09:24:45

Good Morning from a grey, breezy Durham. There was a sudden, heavy shower yesterday, over in 10 minutes.
The internet is up and running again, but the tv is not - back to the helpline methinks.
Meeting a friend for coffee at 10am then back to household jobs.
Birthday wishes to those celebrating. Hope those feeling poorly improve.

Best wishes to all. X

MD I see some optimism at last, your consultant is doing well, process of elimination and one step at a time. Properly scientific approach

Good morning everyone from a very rainy Lancashire. I slept badly last night, it felt quite oppressive. When I eventually dropped off around 3am I slept so soundly I didn’t even hear *MrB’ get up and go out, or return and unpack the shopping!

I will now catch up on the thread, have a good day all.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 15-Jul-25 14:35:28

I grabbed a couple of tarts in Bakewell and a good time was had by all.

You may wish to rephrase that hollysteers! 😂
