Is it just me. I've lit my log burner. I've been cold all morning.
It got to 3 o'clock and I couldn't take any more. Its so dull and rainy, perhaps that makes it look cold. I live in Northumberland which doesn't help.
Anyone else feeling chilly?

Damp and cold here this m in SW Wales. A heavy mist turning everything wet and shiny. Promise of sun this afternoon though

Wow! It's been sweltering here in the West Mids for over a week, the outside thermometer has been in the high 30's , too hot to sleep and energy totally zapped until 2 days ago when suddenly got cooler and then some rain yesterday. Today is the first day it's been cool enough to go into the garden and survey the damage done by the sun and drought and it's bad! Even today I was wearing a sleeveless t-shirt, mid 20's temp. Hoping for the same tomorrow so I can start the garden clear up.

Yes, MiniMoon, I'm in North Tyneside and cold, too. Like you, the log burner's been on. Sometimes I so wish I lived further south, for the weather!

Back to mid 20’s in the South, cloud/sun, light breeze, my perfect weather.

North Manc yesterday it rained a lot at times. I was drenched when out with my lab, he loves water so was happy, it was not cold though and I’m quick to feel the cold.

The rain was so heavy two of the velux windows sprung leaks £££££££🙈

Mid-Lancs is fairly humid and stuffy. Just hope another bloody heatwave isn't on the way.

Today the weather here is sunny and warm, but on the rainy days, of which we have had t oo many during June and the first part of July, I have felt so cold I had to put on woollen socks and cardies.

NannieChicken Wed 16-Jul-25 14:14:33

I'm in the Midlands and my feet were freezing yesterday. It felt odd putting on slippers and a thicker top in July.

Still sunny 🌞 here in the south east but very windy which makes it feel quite chilly.

Got soaked by the rain when I went to pick up GD from school. It wasn't cold though and it is roasting indoors even now with the back door and front windows open!

I am usually a cold morsel but today was fine—three drops of rain. I walked towards the kitchen door to close it and the rain stopped. I have been without a cardigan for many days and no duvet at night.

I live in London, it's 18 °C, and it will soon be 10 pm.

It was ok til mid afternoon in Cambridgeshire but then the wind was fierce the rain came and it is now so very cold. I have come to bed with my book to keep warm. I love the sunny warm days very rarely gets too hot for me.

Changed my shorts for jeans today & it just feels pleasant, & I love the smell of rain on parched ground. NOT too cold!

North east again and yes rain and it’s chilly my hands and feet are freezing!

foxie48 Tue 15-Jul-25 19:21:58

We've had 1/4inch of rain this afternoon, it's still warm and a bit muggy. We need much more rain as we've just been declared as a drought area. We had our hay cut a month ago and it was a very poor yield. I don't keep horses now but if I did I'd have to be feeding forage as there's absolutely no grass at all. It's going to be a very tough year for all farmers whether they have livestock or are arable.

DH was about a mile from home in drizzle while the washing and I got soaked under a cloudburst! Sunny now and the wind has dropped, very pleasant temperatures.

Bellanonna

Here in the SE it’s been muggy with wind gusts up to 40mph. A pleasant interlude before the next heatwave.

Same here.
Still feeling warm but relief that the heatwave has ended, but heard it will get warmer again by the weekend.Must order more ice lollies. Still just sleeping under a sheet at night. No rain which is badly needed.

tanith Tue 15-Jul-25 19:02:34

Few showers here in London but it’s warm all the doors and windows open.

Lona Tue 15-Jul-25 18:58:40

Here in Cheshire, it's been raining on and off all day, quite windy and definitely rather cool!

Ladyripple Tue 15-Jul-25 18:52:33

Currently sat in my nightdress and fleece dressing gown, toying with the idea of putting fire on!

Diverticular disease playing up today, feel generally unwell.

Ziplok Tue 15-Jul-25 18:44:52

It’s raining steadily here at the moment. We’ve had showery weather on and off all day, but it’s becoming a bit more persistent now, with more of a breeze and definitely cooler (but by not means cold). I think the damp does make it feel chillier, but it’s not as cold as where you are MiniMoon, so no heating required yet.
The gardens here have been desperate for rain, so I’m happy to see it, especially as our region was declared to be in drought several weeks ago and now has a hosepipe ban.
