I can't:
- do anything much technical at all (have just had my umpteenth try at a mobile phone of any description - bought one of those Chattie phones they market as for the elderly - grr! - but say are possible for technophobes to use. Fingers crossed they ain't lying.....)
- can't drive (don't really know why - as I learnt and passed a test back in my 30's - but when I tried again recently = oh boy!!!).
I am now consoling myself that someone said to me recently that they are friends with a law lecturer and she can't do either of those things either.
I can:
- I'm not a bad cook
- I'm a good dancer (provided it's more of a "Do your own thing" type way of dancing). I've even been asked if I'm a professional dancer.
- I can see the bigger picture/overall scene of things and, after a comment years back about being too nice for my own good and thinking other people will be too = I now stop and think "If I were a b*stard instead - what would I be thinking and doing now - instead of what I myself would do?" and I've learnt to "channel what a b*stard would do and can see them coming and head them off at the pass". It is THE single most useful skill I've acquired though - and can recall an outsider saying years back about my awful employers that "You're two steps ahead of them"....ie he could tell I could see them coming a mile off as to what they'd do next.....and take avoiding action to minimise their effect on me.

Finish grieving the loss of my father in December. I had to say goodbye on Face Time, but at least we could talk. He was in America. I've some processing and tears to go, still.
Do very well at making real personal friends here in England. It's hard for a 1-to-1, and I struggle to feel confident.
