Good morning from Malta where it is hot and sunny.

After an awful week I am at the airport waiting for my flight to Gatwick where my nephew will be waiting to drive me to Kent for my brother in law’s funeral on Monday.

My son drove me to the airport before which we went to collect Buzz’s ashes.😭 He was put to sleep a week ago and I miss him so much.

Sending my best wishes to you all and wishing you a good day.☀️

Sallyforth, I tracked my lost phone online. If you Google it, all you need is your phone number.
What a horrible thing to happen to your DGS, especially if it was his friend.

Good morning all from a cloudy and muggy Glasgow. Glasgow.

Another bad night, I'm so wiped out these days. Thankfully, I am going to restart my biologics today. It will take weeks for them to kick in.

Yesterday was so busy. Thank goodness DH accompanied me to the hospital, there were no parking spaces, it is situated at the top of a very steep hill and many of the disabled spaces were occupied by non Blue Badge users. 😒
I was delighted to see that those selfish individuals had been given parking tickets.
What I did notice was the number of people racing through the hospital corridors on motobility scooters, with little regard for those of us, unable to move quickly out of the way. 😡
I have never noticed this at any of the other hospitals, I attend.
Apparently the Soops were there at the same time yesterday, what a pity I didn't spot them.

brook, a similar thing happened to me. I was sitting at a red light and lorry ran into me. My car was nearly written off and I had whiplash.
You all must have been pretty shaken. 💐

GM, I hope the fête is as successful as ours was.
I meant to mention yesterday, that we have solar panels on our church roof. I had to investigate obtaining grants for this.
I hope it is a viable option for your DD's church. Would the fact that it is a medieval church, be problematic?

Today, I have the bulletin to send out and the parish website to update. It is the flakiest one, I have ever used. It is a free version and the PP won't pay for an updated version. In fact he admitted to never having looked at it! 😡
I could be posting heresy and he would never know! 🤣
However, many parishioners rely on it for information and there would an outcry if we shut it down.
If I'm up to it, I plan to bake coconut biscuits for the young sacristan's father. They are his favourite.
He went into hospital as a day patient for an investigation and had a bladder tumour removed there and then. 😒 What a shock after months of pestering his GP!

Safe journey home, Grandmabatty, what a pity your trip was marred by ill

Yesterday, as well obtaining a speedy appointment for urgent blood , unfortunately I forgot to mention that I was on blood thinners.🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸, I was surprised to receive an additional appointment for the R.A. clinic, they are like gold dust!
I also received a letter that a delivery of biologics was on its way. My consultant has certainly taken on board, how unwell I am.

Wishing you all the best day possible. A special mention for those reading, but not posting, who have mountains to climb.💐
I am sure there are many.

Good to see you back madeleine.

Good Morning from Durham. Hours of rain is forecast from noon.
Little Dog is going home today and I’m hoping to take DGS2 to Discovery museum later. I expect they’ll be more of his laundry to collect.
Good to see you back Madeleine. There were some posts fearing you were ill.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from N.Bucks where it is pouring with rain and has been for a few hours.
Local food shop this morning, maybe a coffee in town
This afternoon I am being taken out by all 3 DDs, a slightly late birthday outing. What a treat to have all of them together and all to myself.
Best wishes to all feeling under par and a good day wished for everyone.

Jaxjacky Sat 19-Jul-25 08:25:46

What a shock brook but I’m pleased no one was hurt, mightily inconvenient though.

madeleine45 Sat 19-Jul-25 08:24:51

Good morning Micheal and all you lovely GN's
It has been great to read your posts this morning and see so many familiar names on here. I am just saying hallo for now, as am totally jetlagged, shattered and back and knees are complaining about the long journey. Need to get the yellow peril out and get to the market before it chucks it down. Just planning on getting basics and the Yorkshire post and back asap before the heavens open. No doubt I will return with only half the necessary things but so long as I can have something to eat - easy to do - and my coffee of course, I shall be taking it easy and letting my body start getting back to local time etc. Yesterday , it was a huge effort but managed to get two full loads of washing done and out on the line and dried, then collapsed on the bed , feeling rather dizzy, but couldnt waste the good weather. I had very little in the kitchen and couldnt work out the time to eat, but had a brilliant idea and gave up. Went out, bought the local paper and went to a very good little italian restaurant I know here, where I got a lovely comfort food seafood risotto, and drank lots of water . They have such lovely fresh fish and a great variety of types that you couldnt buy easily on your own. Then called in the bank, the travel agent etc on the way home, just to say I am back and that was it for the day and night. So this morning I feel much better for a shower and hairwash but my leg is not good. No matter, I have got back safely and more anon. Have read most of my post. I was 80 while I was away so had some nice cards to come back to. Have let my son and family know I am back and we plan to meet up as soon as we can sort something out, but I am quite glad to go slowly at my own pace at the moment. Think that is the difference in getting older. I once drove from Istanbul through europe, across on the ferry and up to London arriving about 6pm and went into work the next day with no problem. Now I can still do the travelling but need quite a bit longer to recover from any trip!!

Hope you all have a good weekend, after I get back from the market, if it has not already started raining I shall go out and water the garden. The neighbours will think I am mad, but no there is method in my madness. If you water the soil, enough to dampen the surface down, the the rain will soak in and do a lot of good. Leave it dry and the water will just run off the surface and be wasted.

Must creak off now. Have a good day everyone
Madeleine

Good morning everyone from a wet Northampton, where it has just started raining, and set to continue for most of the day. It's good to feel cooler.

Dance classes yesterday morning; I had intended to do all three as usual, but decided I had had enough after two, and gave my apologies to our teacher. The tap class was particularly.strenuous!

I then got a bus to the shops, had a coffee in M&S, and did my top-up shop. Managed to get the stuff that had been unavailable in my Thursday delivery.

No plans for today except for the Saturday papers and some catch-up TV. May see if I can get the Lions rugby on TV.

I had my first Women's Rugby World Cup tickets delivered yesterday by email, and I shall print them off. Still waiting for tickets for the remaining matches.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Grammaretto Sat 19-Jul-25 08:10:12

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's fine now but rain forecast. Our beach foraging trip has been postponed.

I had a nice dinner party last night with my cousin and my friend.
My cousin leaves early Monday so I'll have to think of a nice outing for her .

Sorry your holiday was marred by your poor tum, Grandmabatty but glad you managed to enjoy it.

That's horrid for you brook but at least noone was hurt.

I hope your fête is a great success gMattie

I'm off to pick sweetpeas for the cafe tables.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a very wet Suffolk, the first real rain we’ve had for several weeks. It will put a temporary halt to the harvesting of the barley around here….a welcome relief from the huge combines which totally fill the siglevtrack lanes around here. A necessary hazard,I know,at this time of the year.

I had a really lovely day with my friends at the Red House yesterday. A perfect summer’s day,a stroll round the wonderful 5 acre garden with traditional planting and a restored rose terrace as it was in the days of Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears. My friends were both musicians and one performed many times with B.B so the visit was enhanced by sharing their musical pasts.

Like others,I have a pile of ironing to tackle,.made easier by the rain and being confined indoors.

Hope all have the best day possible and thinking of those with ill health and/ or worries to contend with.

kittylester Sat 19-Jul-25 08:01:19

Good morning all from a sticky North Leicestershire where we have a few spots of rain on the window.

We have an 85% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and we have tickets for an outdoor production of MacBeth - should be fun.

Have the best day possible, everyone.

Gingster Sat 19-Jul-25 07:59:01

Good morning and it’s rained most of the night. Hoorah!

It’s DIL’s 50th party today and a bar b q , so not ideal weather but they have plenty of room to be indoors.

Sorry you’ve been poorly on your holidays Grandmabatty. You’ll be pleased to get home.

I hope your gs gets his phone back Sallyforth. Very upsetting if it is his ‘friend’ who is the culprit.

Take care and enjoy the day as best you can 🌼

Susan56 Sat 19-Jul-25 07:50:14

Brook sorry to hear of your accident. It does shake you up so give yourself time to recover💐

GrannySomerset Sat 19-Jul-25 07:47:05

Grey skies but no rain as yet so hope DD and DSiL have a safe journey later today. A quick supermarket visit and must organise my packing for next week; it’s so long since I have been away I am unusually exercised about it but as there will only be room for a small case every item will have to be worth taking. First world problems!

Jaxjacky Sat 19-Jul-25 07:46:59

Morning from a damp S Hants, we’ve had some rain and it’s still rather clammy, yesterday was very close again.
Safe journey’s Greyduster and Grandmabatty (shame about your tum).
MrJ, my son and our grandson are off to play golf later, hoping any rain has finished, I’ll be wrapping a present for MrJ’s tomorrow birthday.

Good morning from Shropshire.O ernight rain again now waiting for the sun to appear.

Grandmabatty I am so sorry your holiday was spoiled by ill health😢safe journey home.

We had 24 butterflies on the buddleia yesterday so the children are waiting for the sun to come out to see if there are more today. The cabbage whites have decimated DH’s cabbages.

Later we will go into town to the community hub.The children love it there.Lots of games and crafts and delicious cakes.

Wishing everyone a good day🦩🌻

luluaugust Sat 19-Jul-25 07:46:28

Good morning from W Kent where it is pouring with rain. A quiet day, washing, ironing and shopping.
One of my children was diagnosed with Coeliac disease yesterday, a dreadful shock and the answer to the health problems of at least four generations. I have been gluten free for a number of years purely because I felt so much better but I had no idea it could be Coeliac. I usually take my own bread to family events. Anyway a rethink and others to get tested now
Best wishes

I spoke to soon, the seagulls are now flying around and noisily announcing their presence

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 19-Jul-25 07:41:43

Morning all from a wet West Oxfordshire. It feels humid too.

Not an awful lot planned today. We have some financial matters to sort out and I have a massive ironing pile - so does OH.

Have a good day everyone and I hope the FGT2S have a brighter day.

brook2704 Sat 19-Jul-25 07:37:50

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another lovely sunny start to the day
Hope the fete goes well gMattie you’ve certainly worked very hard with the preparations
Yesterday started off fine, we went to DD2s to look after the DGC, although at 10 and 11 they don’t really need much looking after. But unfortunately on the way home someone ran into the back of our car whilst we were stuck in traffic - completely not our fault but we’ve still got all the hassle of sorting it all out. We’ve just counted our blessings that no one was hurt especially as we had DGS in the back of the car with us. Anyhow DH got onto the insurance, the car is to be collected on Tuesday for repair and a courtesy car supplied. A minor incident but it still shook me up, thankfully DH took it in his stride and DGS didn’t seem too bothered by it all
Sorry to hear you’ve been poorly on holiday grandmabatty, such a shame when that happens, safe travels home
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Redcar Sat 19-Jul-25 07:27:32

Good morning from mid Essex. It’s mild, calm and raining at last. Unfortunately it seems that it will rain for most of the morning, spoiling a number of outdoor activities.
Yesterday was very warm and humid, but I managed a walk in the morning before it got too hot. Also vacuumed the stairs and bedrooms. Then I cleared some of the dead leaves etc from the garden, so that the rain can get to the earth.
Today I have a pile of ironing to do (yesterday’s washing) and some admin.
grandmattie I hope the fete goes well and that it stays dry. I’m sure your cakes will be a roaring success.
grandmabatty what a shame that your holiday has been affected by your health.
cornergran I always check my family’s whereabouts when they’re flying anywhere. Both DDs are very good at texting me when they’ve arrived at their destinations.
Have the best day possible everyone, thinking of those who are having difficulties of any kind.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 19-Jul-25 07:22:38

Good morning from a grey and wet coast of S E Essex, it started raining around 1am and only just stopped ☔️☔️☔️
The seagulls did not put in an appearance at 5am as per usual.

Not sure what the teens have planned during the day, tonight the three of us are are going to the local posh hotel for dinner, DS4 is joining us with his family and bringing along DH (I think he is enjoying being home alone, rather too much 🤷‍♀️)

harrigran Sat 19-Jul-25 07:20:38

Good morning from an overcast and humid NE.
Our journey home yesterday was fine.
I now have to live out of the freezer and store cupboards.
My elder sister is in the UK but is visiting the Isle of Man and my younger sister went off on holiday yesterday so no visitors this week.
Lazy day today catching up with TV and reading my book.
Thoughts are with FGT and her DH.
