Good morning from a cooler, overcast Sarthe.

I’m glad you’re planning on buying Complan, Mick. The instructions suggest mixing it with semi skimmed milk although you can use water. I used to take just one sachet a day, usually at night but see what works for you. Giving it a thorough whisk ensures it dissolves.

Another lazy day yesterday due to the stifling heat. In the afternoon I went to bed and slept for an hour yet still slept well overnight. 💤

Have the best weekend you can, everyone! 🦩💐🇫🇷🥰🦩

Good morning Mick and everyone from a bright morning in Cheshire. Just a few wispy clouds. A blackbird has been singing loudly for over an hour and the air is very still, the trees are not moving.

I'm hoping for a warm sunny day in the garden. Lots to do, and I take it steady. I have a big problem with ivy coming from next door. I pay a gardener to come and cut it back but he's not answering and it's reaching a beautiful yellow climbing rose.

Upset in the family yesterday as my DGS had his mobile phone stolen, and it would seem to be a friend who has it. The last signal was on the way to that person's house. Doubly upsetting, but as his parents are telling him, he's safe and it's only a phone.

Wishing everyone a good day whatever you may have planned. Specially kind thoughts to all who are unwell or have worries of any kind. flowers

Good morning, it’s very cloudy here in south Glos, yet no rain forecast today.
The house is clean and tidy, I spent yesterday morning cleaning and vacuuming, very satisfying. Three loads of washing all dried, some ironing to do today.
I had a pleasant afternoon in my Shed with tiddler, I’m knitting a mitre squares blanket to use up some of my sock yarn stash 🙄. I really don’t need any more but I can’t sit and do nothing, I have to have something in my hands. More of that today.
I will water all my pots first thing after walking the dogs, the runner beans are doing well, it’s too warm for me to do in the evening and another muggy day ahead.
I want to start another drawing today, I have everything ready, I’m following an online tutorial.
Best wishes to you all 🌹

Good morning Mick and Ash - we have similar weather here in north Wales but good enough for my walk to the next town for a 🗞️.

Thanks for your suggestions Ash - we’ve decided on Shrewsbury for our next outing (need a few wins first 🤞) but will put Stafford and Lichfield on the list.

Good to read that Mr FGTs treatment is being closely monitored at Christie’s - it must be such a worry for their little family and I hope for a good outcome soon x.

Marvellous to see newbies joining thick and fast, I must have missed their first posts 🤷‍♀️ but welcome to all on this heartwarming thread 🤗

Safe travels to all on their olidays, I love to see those pics and hear about new places and Harrigran’s trip to my neck of the woods was interesting to read from a visitor’s viewpoint.

A good weekend for all 🙏

Good morning from a damp Bristol. It’s grey and overcast, but we have only had a light shower in the night.
I just hope that it’s fine for the fete this afternoon. It hasn’t been well advertised, so the attendance may well be patchy.
I spent the morning baking again, only stopping briefly when DS dropped in on the way back from the solicitor. We took a load of stuff, including heavy jars of marmalade to the church in the car.
The afternoon and evening were quiet, apart from a lady helping me take cakes to church.
I’m going to have a lot to sort out this morning, setting up. I’m hoping to have time to come home for lunch and a rest, but not really holding my breath.
Good vibes and hugs to all in need (and those without too). Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset and it is cloudy

I am a bit achy today, I bottomed my en suite and emptied storage areas and so on, washed the floor by kneeling down. There was nothing to de-clutter but it looks a lot better, also did the same with my downstairs cloakroom

Allotment visited to empty 4 big trugs of soil and composting material. I took some seeds, hoping for rain this weekend and I scattered phacelia over 3 beds. I know that particular green manure well and I know I can handle it, the chopping etc. I am not sure about the other green manures like rye and I need to get goodness into that soil asap, I decided to stay with the system I know well. Autumn planted alliums are ordered and noted in my planner

I have no set plan for today but really do fancy a drive to Wells, maybe shop at waitrose, I have not been to any supermarket for many months. Probably I will finish shortening the remaining two skirts and I do need to slowly plod on with sorting/refining a pattern pile that I made a few weeks ago.

Have a good day

Greyduster Sat 19-Jul-25 06:29:16

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a rather grey Northern Ireland (sorry, young Robert - old habits die hard!). This is our last day here. We travel back to Belfast for a visit to the Titanic Museum before we get on the ferry this afternoon. I’ll take away from this holiday the warmth of the local people and their humour. The Antrim coast is as beautiful as I remembered it and I would love to come back and see all the things we didn’t have time for this time, but I don’t suppose I will.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Coincidentally, I had thought of suggesting Shrewsbury, Pantglas2 as DH and I enjoyed a short visit there whilst in Crewe recently for DGD's dance show.

The station is near the town which I should warn you is hilly. There’s a castle and interesting old buildings. We had a delicious lunch at a quaint little Italian restaurant near St. Alkmund's Church. We went for the dish of the day which was under £10!

We arrived early and were lucky to secure a table so probably a good idea to book which can be done online.

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

It looks dry, and seems darker, heavy cloud lowering the light.

Volunteering was as enjoyable as ever yesterday morning, the afternoon was spent sorting paper while MrC slept. His foot is still bothering him and his patience wearing thin.

Hoping to get out in the garden this morning also to wash the conservatory window ledges where the flies have had a party. A replacement iron to collect and Waitrose this afternoon. A spot of plane tracking too. While one family landed safely back in the U.K. late last night, the other are currently eating very large croissants in Dubai, they will be on their way to Perth soon

Hope the fete is well attended grandmattie and you get to sit down at some point.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Grandmabatty Sat 19-Jul-25 06:47:06

Good morning all from Puerto de Mogan in Gran Canaria where I'm about to trundle down to reception to wait for the family and the loft to the airport.
It's certainly a beautiful resort and the people have been lovely. Sadly my holiday was marred by ill health and stomach issues continued even last night. I'll be glad to get home late afternoon. The family have had a lovely time and we have all got on well.
See you tomorrow from Polmont

Yogaknit Sat 19-Jul-25 07:11:45

Good morning everyone, and thank you for the warm welcome yesterday.
It looks as though we had a lot of rain here in east Kent overnight as the parched grass is now a darker shade of tan. Thankfully the runner beans are still standing.
Yesterday I submitted a butterfly count to the Big Butterfly Count (a zero count) and plan to do one daily for the duration.
Today's plan is a Pilates class.
Best wishes all.

Kalu Sat 19-Jul-25 07:12:29

Good morning all. A slightly overcast warm and muggy start to the day in Glasgow.

Peace and quiet for the next two days as tools are downed for the weekend. No plans, just doing bits of this and that and come and go as I please. There is always my to do list to refer to or make use of the skip and declutter the garden shed. The cat is rather cagey at the moment as I swear she knows it is time for her flea/wormer treatments which she hates. One would think I was about to perform major surgery on her. Such a drama queen.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant weekend and hopefully some respite for those with troubling times.

NannyJan53 Sat 19-Jul-25 07:19:28

Good morning from a grey and drizzly Black Country.

We are off to Bristol later this morning, for MrJ's daughters 30th birthday. There are about 40 family and friends attending. Hopefully the rain will hold off as it is a BBQ, but apparently there is indoor space too.

Then after an overnight stay, we are off to Somerset to the caravan.

Wishing you all the best day possible

harrigran Sat 19-Jul-25 07:20:38

Good morning from an overcast and humid NE.
Our journey home yesterday was fine.
I now have to live out of the freezer and store cupboards.
My elder sister is in the UK but is visiting the Isle of Man and my younger sister went off on holiday yesterday so no visitors this week.
Lazy day today catching up with TV and reading my book.
Thoughts are with FGT and her DH.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 19-Jul-25 07:22:38

Good morning from a grey and wet coast of S E Essex, it started raining around 1am and only just stopped ☔️☔️☔️
The seagulls did not put in an appearance at 5am as per usual.

Not sure what the teens have planned during the day, tonight the three of us are are going to the local posh hotel for dinner, DS4 is joining us with his family and bringing along DH (I think he is enjoying being home alone, rather too much 🤷‍♀️)

Redcar Sat 19-Jul-25 07:27:32

Good morning from mid Essex. It’s mild, calm and raining at last. Unfortunately it seems that it will rain for most of the morning, spoiling a number of outdoor activities.
Yesterday was very warm and humid, but I managed a walk in the morning before it got too hot. Also vacuumed the stairs and bedrooms. Then I cleared some of the dead leaves etc from the garden, so that the rain can get to the earth.
Today I have a pile of ironing to do (yesterday’s washing) and some admin.
grandmattie I hope the fete goes well and that it stays dry. I’m sure your cakes will be a roaring success.
grandmabatty what a shame that your holiday has been affected by your health.
cornergran I always check my family’s whereabouts when they’re flying anywhere. Both DDs are very good at texting me when they’ve arrived at their destinations.
Have the best day possible everyone, thinking of those who are having difficulties of any kind.

brook2704 Sat 19-Jul-25 07:37:50

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another lovely sunny start to the day
Hope the fete goes well gMattie you’ve certainly worked very hard with the preparations
Yesterday started off fine, we went to DD2s to look after the DGC, although at 10 and 11 they don’t really need much looking after. But unfortunately on the way home someone ran into the back of our car whilst we were stuck in traffic - completely not our fault but we’ve still got all the hassle of sorting it all out. We’ve just counted our blessings that no one was hurt especially as we had DGS in the back of the car with us. Anyhow DH got onto the insurance, the car is to be collected on Tuesday for repair and a courtesy car supplied. A minor incident but it still shook me up, thankfully DH took it in his stride and DGS didn’t seem too bothered by it all
Sorry to hear you’ve been poorly on holiday grandmabatty, such a shame when that happens, safe travels home
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 19-Jul-25 07:41:43

Morning all from a wet West Oxfordshire. It feels humid too.

Not an awful lot planned today. We have some financial matters to sort out and I have a massive ironing pile - so does OH.

Have a good day everyone and I hope the FGT2S have a brighter day.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 19-Jul-25 07:42:12

I spoke to soon, the seagulls are now flying around and noisily announcing their presence

luluaugust Sat 19-Jul-25 07:46:28

Good morning from W Kent where it is pouring with rain. A quiet day, washing, ironing and shopping.
One of my children was diagnosed with Coeliac disease yesterday, a dreadful shock and the answer to the health problems of at least four generations. I have been gluten free for a number of years purely because I felt so much better but I had no idea it could be Coeliac. I usually take my own bread to family events. Anyway a rethink and others to get tested now
Best wishes

Susan56 Sat 19-Jul-25 07:46:50

Good morning from Shropshire.O ernight rain again now waiting for the sun to appear.

Grandmabatty I am so sorry your holiday was spoiled by ill health😢safe journey home.

We had 24 butterflies on the buddleia yesterday so the children are waiting for the sun to come out to see if there are more today. The cabbage whites have decimated DH’s cabbages.

Later we will go into town to the community hub.The children love it there.Lots of games and crafts and delicious cakes.

Wishing everyone a good day🦩🌻

Jaxjacky Sat 19-Jul-25 07:46:59

Morning from a damp S Hants, we’ve had some rain and it’s still rather clammy, yesterday was very close again.
Safe journey’s Greyduster and Grandmabatty (shame about your tum).
MrJ, my son and our grandson are off to play golf later, hoping any rain has finished, I’ll be wrapping a present for MrJ’s tomorrow birthday.

GrannySomerset Sat 19-Jul-25 07:47:05

Grey skies but no rain as yet so hope DD and DSiL have a safe journey later today. A quick supermarket visit and must organise my packing for next week; it’s so long since I have been away I am unusually exercised about it but as there will only be room for a small case every item will have to be worth taking. First world problems!

Susan56 Sat 19-Jul-25 07:50:14

Brook sorry to hear of your accident. It does shake you up so give yourself time to recover💐
