Aggressive behaviour towards shop worker

Bad enough being abused by the customer, without being abused by your work colleagues 😩

Man who is her boss shouting at a female worker who is physically smaller. Horrible. I could not have stayed quiet. Cumbrianmale56...i presume you are a man. It mskes me feel worse for the woman..how humiliating for her.

Were you able to say a few words of support to the poor woman? She must have gone home feeling humiliated.

I wanted to speak to her, but she wandered off, probably didn't want the attention.

Being stressed out is no excuse for the public humiliation and bullying of a co worker.

I once did a voluntary job where I was treated in a similar way. I complained to the manager, who just shrugged it off, so I handed in my notice with immediate effect. Nobody should be treated like that, but I guess it's not so easy if it's a paid job and money is tight.

I think the woman should complain to her manager, although there never seems to be anyone in a position of authority in the shop. I think possibly, due to the shop being understaffed and checkout staff having to do other jobs, maybe the man who shouted was stressed out. However, on a shop floor is not the right place to behave like this.

I hate bullies.
They think that by shouting at someone, especially with an audience, that they come across as impressing everyone. Well they don't. They come across as the unpleasant bullies that they are.
I could not have stood there and said nothing.

I am sure they would appreciate your feed back to this incident as they pride themselves on being a community shop and working with among others mental health charities.

Why didn’t you say anything at the time?, it would have been of more use than reporting it on here.

There were only 2 members of staff on duty. It's not a shop I use often, but it seems to be understaffed and the man moved out of the way quite quickly.

she shouldn't have spoken to her like that but she should have fetched some ladders if she couldn't reach. Shops have layouts they have to follow to ensure product placement and increase sales. You can't stock shelves randomly
