Soopās cosy kitchen for kindly and caring folk
(1001 Posts)In *soopās absence Iāve opened the door, fluffed the cushions and replenished the buffer.
Blossoming you have more patience than me with that bracelet, how delicate.
Tough times SueD I hope today went well for Thursday.
Yesterdayās quiz was a record 54 in attendance, not bad for a village on a Monday, we caught up with quiz mates, but failed to get in the top three. Before that I went to see a physiotherapist and came away with a bunch of knee exercises, Iāve crepitus apparently!
Today was washing, managed to whip it in before some rain unexpectedly came down.
With š¹to soop and others struggling.

FGT just read your devastating news on the Morning thread. Iām so sorry.
fgt I am so sorry to read your sad news, keep being strong for your lovely man. Sending hugs and love to you all.
Oh gosh FGT I am crying for you. All I can do is send you all a virtual hug.
So, so sorry FGT. Keeping you both and your family close in my thoughts.
Hello everyone in the kitchen.
Thank you to all for thinking of us these past weeks, your kindnesses and good wishes. Sadly, we received the most devastating news. Himselfās scans showed huge cancer growth. The chemotherapy hadnāt been working so it was stopped. Our whole little family cried tears of anguish.
Then on Thursday the GP did a home visit. He spiked a temperature of 39.9°C so she rang the crisis line at Christieās. An ambulance was dispatched immediately and we were blue lighted to the hospital. He was put in an isolation ward, given iv Mero antibiotic, fluids, two blood transfusions. His blood pressure was dangerously low. I was beyond agitated and scared.
Yesterday most thankfully he had stabilised and was moved to a general ward where he will remain for several more days. Our sorrow at the whole situation knows no bounds.
When I cried, Himself squeezed my hand. Heād been advised to put some of his affairs in order. I just told him Iād be so very sorrowful without him. He said āIn time, I will take all this sorrow with me and leave you with the joy of livingā.
Iām crying again, thinking how much I love him. x
Hi kitchen pals, quite a warm day up here once the sun came out
Grannmarie a lovely routine with your Wee Boy happy memories too to look back on
We popped round to DD2s for a cuppa and a chat, the DGC were both out, DGS at basketball and DGD at her dancing class. Both seemed to have settled back into school this week, just a couple of minor hiccups - DGS whoās just moved up to senior school lost his timetable and didnāt know which room he should be in, then didnāt want school dinners as his new friends were all sat outside with sandwiches. DGD had an upset and disappointment one day, but overall itās not been too bad
Later we called into the fuschia flower show in town and I bumped into a lady Iād not seen for ages, we were quite a while catching up on news whilst respective DHs were waiting patiently. An early night for me soon as Iām tired after my gallivanting last night
Hoping youāre feeling a bit brighter today and you get the much needed rain next week Jax āļø
Thinking of Soop, FGT and all in the quiet corner, take care all x
Hi all, what a precious memory Grannmarie, sad, but special.
Good you had a decent sleep Redcar Iāve been a lazy bones today, watered, picked some tomatoes, hoed some weeds, made a chilli and read the paper, quite slovenly!
Saturday is the only day I buy an actual, hold it in your hands paper - with a magazine, keeps me quiet for ages.
Weāre forecast rain towards the end of next week, hooray, it really has been many weeks since we had anything significant, the gardens are desperate.
Have a peaceful evening all.
soops and FGTās are in my thoughts.
grannmarie i did sleep well thank you. DD and her DH were home quite early as the concert finished a few minutes early and there was no problem getting out of the car park!
I havenāt done much since I got home, changed my bedclothes and attempted to store the clean sheets etc more tidily in the wardrobe. Failed miserably! Will have to have another think about it, I canāt store them on the top shelf now because I canāt reach it and darenāt get on the step stool in case I fall off.
I also started to resurrect the compost bins again, one is ready to put stuff in, the other needs to be emptied and the compost sieved. A task for another day.
blossoming I hope your eyes have settled down now and are more comfortable.
Thinking of the fgts and the soops and sending a gentle hug where needed.
Night night everyone. I hope itās a bit cooler tonight and that we are all able to sleep more comfortably.
Thank you, Redcar. Hope you sleep well tonight at your DD's house.š“
grannmarie your Friday evening routine with your wee boy sounds a perfect start to a weekend, and how lovely that it gave your DH a new lease of life when his health was failing.
.
Iām at DD1s tonight, looking after their two daughters and the dog while theyāre at a concert. The girls and dog are all in bed and asleep and Iām definitely not waiting up for DD and her DH! Her house makes odd noises at times which is a bit unsettling!
Thinking of all those with sadness in their lives at the moment.
Night night everyone, hope we all manage to get some sleep.
Dear Baggs, thank you for passing on Soop's situation and her own words, it must be difficult for you. It's not the news that any of us wanted to hear, but we must take our lead from our wonderful Soop, and make the most of every day we are gifted. My prayers now are for Soop's care and comfort, and for all who love her .
Jaxjacky, I'm so glad that MrJ is back to good health. I'm sorry to hear of your sadness, it's hard when we are worried about those who mean a lot to us. Thinking of you.
Blossoming, sorry to hear that you were feeling down. Your lovely man knows you well, and knows just how to lift your spirits. šGlad you've blown away the cobwebs!
I lit candles and offered prayers this morning before Mass for all who need/ wish them, so many of our lovely Kitchen folk are climbing mountains these days.

Today I resumed our Friday routine of picking up the Wee Boy from school, bringing him home via the playpark, entertaining him at home till mummy and daddy finish work, then sharing 'Pizza Night ' with them until its time for his football ā½ training. DH loved this wee routine, the Wee Boy gave him a new lease of life when his health and mobility were failing...tears are tripping me just now, sorry.
TOYA, NNGB.
Thank you Baggs, Iām very sorry indeed to hear the sad news of soopās diagnosis.
