Thank you jax, I’m another one who was lurking outside hoping someone else would open the new kitchen. I hope you get on well with your exercises, I don’t know what crepitus is but it doesn’t sound very nice! I’ll Google it in a minute.
I’ve arranged to drive to see my 100 year old godmother tomorrow, so must find my big girls pants to cope with the journey. Only 24 miles but over a year since I’ve driven that far down bendy country roads!
I’ve put some chocolate biscuits in the kitchen, please help yourselves!

It's good to see Soops kitchen back in my GN feed of Active threads. It's been missing for ages. I've had to Google in order to find Soop.
I sit in the corner but enjoy reading all your doings.
I've got my house on the market at the moment. Life has been nothing but form filling recently.
The system has changed greatly since I last sold and bought, fourteen years ago.

I've been on holiday where I picked up a virus two days in. It was a very unpleasant experience and is only now passing. The family had a lovely time. My son came too and thoroughly enjoyed himself. We had fantastic restaurants to choose from. Sadly, I wasn't able to enjoy meals. Today has been a better day. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners

It’s been quite a warm afternoon here, I got a bit of gardening done which I enjoyed. Everything is growing really fast at the moment, it’s a challenge keeping it tidy!

Blood test all done, though it was a hike round the hospital. Up two floors in a lift, walk along a corridor, down two floors in another lift walk along another corridor. Or was it down two floors in a lift, walk along…oh never mind, you get the gist.

It was quite a pleasant day after the torrential rain yesterday, sun and blue skies and mid 20’s temps. I washed a duvet and got it dried outside and the garden has responded well to the rain. Unfortunately so have the slugs. 🤢

Thanks Jax I was outside on the porch around 10ish last night writing a post. I tried to send it but got locked out of the kitchen..
Wasn’t sure what to do and wasn’t brave enough to step over the threshold into a new kitchen- it’s looking good though.

Hi all, funny old day with the weather, sun, cloud, short shower, cloud and about 6 sun, but the washing dried.
Garden fed with liquid seaweed, pots, baskets and the greenhouse watered - with a can, we’re on a hosepipe ban.
Bank stuff sorted, some online, then a phone call, a quick response, rather than hanging on for ages, using my voice as the password makes life easier.
Dinner on the way, leftover roast chicken with some veg that needs using up.

Great news from FGT this morning.

Hello everyone. I’m safely home from visiting my godmother. I found the driving tiring, not used to concentrating for so long. But I managed it, as I was leaving she told me that as I’d done it once I will have to come more frequently!
I had a call from a dear friend who has just had her second hip replaced, apparently not a good experience unfortunately, with little care from the staff in the hospital (private but paid for by the nhs).
I’ll either sleep well or hardly at all due to so many things going round my brain! I need to take my car to the garage to get the tyres checked - I clipped the kerb on the way home. Last time I did that I needed a new tyre.
jaxjacky even after all the rain we’ve had, I had to water the tomato plants this evening, with a can, although no hosepipe ban here yet.

So pleased to read FGTs good news this morning, hope her DH is home very soon
I did Zumba then Line Dancing at the gym, I’m still very much a beginner at Line Dancing it’s much harder than I realised 🥴 Then a quick trip to DD2s, I helped out with a bit of tidying up and food shopping before home on the bus. We’ve just had salmon and salad for dinner, it sounds healthy but then I’ve just finished off with two chocolate biscuits

It is lovely to have a new kitchen for us all to pop into. We share our good times and our sad times. Thank you Jax For opening up. I’m not long home from visiting himself on the ward. He is making slow but steady progress. I try not to think back last seven weeks because it upsets me too much. Mentally, I am trying to draw a line in the sand, It’s better that way.

Himself is waiting to start his second round of the new chemotherapy on the 1st of August. We are hoping for better days ahead. For some reason much as I am looking forward to having him home again, I find myself feeling somewhat nervous.

Good to hear from you FGT I can understand that you are nervous about having your DH home again. Somehow you feel safer when he is being cared for but I am sure you will be fine. Such good news that he is now able to eat.

MrB felt much the same about me coming home FGT2. Not that he didn’t want me home, but he was worried about how he’d cope if anything happened.

Hello kitchen people. It’s good to be back in a new kitchen - I was locked out of the kitchen last night!

I made two lots of ice cream today - strawberry and blackcurrant. I could leave some on the side.

You’ll soon get used to having your OH back home FGTS. Under different circumstances, OH would be away for weeks at a time (in foreign parts) and it took a day or two but we got used to each other again on his return!

I think that’s natural, FGT. I was the same after dh’s inpatient stay in January. It feels such a responsibility to bring them home - not unlike having a new baby, when you think, OMG, they’re going to make me go home and look after this baby myself?? 👀

Perfectly understandable feeling fgt. When Mr C was very poorly after a heart valve repair I slept well knowing he was being cared for. The day we were told he was to be discharged I fell into panic mode. What if and what if. Once he was home it was constant alert, sleep became elusive for a while. Then it all settled down. I knew what to do if he became unwell and so stopped being afraid he would deteriorate. He was so happy to be home. We both adjusted, I know you will too but, yes, it’s scary at first. Love to you both.
